Don't want what ? You can't block Biafran ships from sailing. All you can do is reach an agreement based on existing laws guiding waters ways. You sound like a hateful soul. Why would anyone sensible human block the success of another man that doesn't bother you.

You say you want Niger Delta and we agree and you can take your useless oil but you want our neighbors to fight us for ship channels ?? Gaaadem! Pathetically ssad

America is the richest country in the world but they import banana, cashew nuts, almonds, avocado, apples, green tea, fish, cotton, mangoes etc.Nigeria education is useless to say the least .

Please, leave these Igbos and their confused Biafra agendum. They always insult anyone who has a dissenting view. They're calling parts of SS "Igbo and Biafra land" and one even naively talked about merit based system and one ethnicity". The same problem faced in this useless shithole called Nigeria would spring its head. They think secession is only championed by them. Ask them of the first secessionist, Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro, and they're ignorant of what to say. No parts of SS is Igbo or Biafra. That you share same language structure doesn't make you same. In not so distant years ago, the Igbos were slaves to the South South tribes...and to date, they are mostly househelps or married off, pregnant, to very old men in the Niger Delta. If one region breaks off, other regions would automatically break off. It's common sense. Check former USSR. Also, the Igbos are landlocked. They need the Niger Deltans to survive. It's the reality. And instead of looking for ways to negotiate their survival, they spew bitter words at people who aren't losing sleep over them. Tueh

Which Uche are you talking about? Ekwunife? Where is she now? Is it true she divorced her husband or is she still marrying him? I hope you understand my question? She should first manage marriage before coming out to manage Anambra. I know her very well, I used to leave in the same estate with her when I was at awka so I know she was the one marrying her husband. A lot of her secret will come out if she dares come out to rule Anambra. We still remember it was because of her that Ngige was kidnapped and Anambra properties burnt.
Its NOT Uche but It Iyom-aku Ekwunife. This woman took one of the most prestigious title in Anambra and we must address her accordingly. Even if she divorced her husband which is unverified that's not a good reason to defame her here on Nairaland. She is one of the most influential women in our great state.

As Basden rightly pointed out, the Nri clan is to the east of Onitsha. The seat of Eze Nri is in Agukwu, and from Onitsha, just a 35 minutes drive gets you to the modern Nri town.

I'm sure you know that London is the capital of England. And the monarchs of England mainly stay in London. Also, once one visits Manchester, it can be said the person has visited England.
But imagine a situation, where London, then decides to adopt the name England, it will start seeming as though the queen of England is just the queen of London. The confusion will come up because ENgland was originally the name of a country, but later on, one of the cities within England adopted the name.

That is exactly what happened with Nri town. There was never an Nri town. There was is always an Nri clan. Before they settled for Nri town, it was initially called Agukwu-Nri. Before Agukwu-Nri, it was known as Agukwu, a few hundreds of years ago. It is just too complicated that it will take me many pages of writing to explain the intricacies, but I hope you get the picture.

Now, there was always an Eze Nri. It is today, the oldest royal stool in NIgeria. As I wrote in my previous reply, the Eze Nri was a true king in the Nri clan hundreds of years ago, but was a spiritual and cultural papal figure, in much of Igboland, Igodomigodo, Benin, Igala territories

You're right.

These autonomous communities are very ignorant and self destructive. Right now 1/5 families is 'HRH'. Like you pointed out it wastes land and worst it creates a situation of preference so that now if you want to build something in another 'autonomous community' your people will push back even though that 'autonomous community' is part of your town. We just became an autonomous community and it's sad because our space is a market and a few families. Yet to see the benefit as nothing has changed, but instead people feel more divided among themselves.
What is the cause for the prevalence of autonomous communites in Abia and Imo ?

Has any historical record ever mentioned the word Nri in connection with the word Benin?
There are numerous records in which the word Ife is mentioned in relation to Benin.

Nri is a town. It was headquarter for various priest cults. It never had a king. It may have had a chief priest but never a king. The priests travel around Ibo country coronating kings. There is also mention of Abam people.

While Nri is a town, Abam are people.

Abam was misspelt here as Akpam.

Very good!
Igala colonized Igbo and installed chiefs over Igboland. The priests of Nri themselves were import from Igala. The pectoral mask in thr chest of that Eze Nri is evidence that he, thr Eze Nri, is an origin of Igala. Eze Nri is a Igala creation. They coronated Igala chiefs that ruled Igboland. This is why anything to do with Nri is only in places where Igala influence is found, ie, Onitsha. You cannot find Nri in Abia or Imo because Igala did not install chiefs and priest there.

Igbo enwe Eze. What you call Igbo kings were actually Igala Chiefs.

Here is Obiano dressed in traditional Igala costume when he was conferred chieftaincy in Aguleri. Look at the druumers and the drums, these are traditional Igala drums and way of dressing.

Good morning to you all, first I'd like to share my own opinion on the OP question.. The Igbo tribe is uniquely diverse in spoken language/Dialect, I consider myself an Igbo from Delta State, Ndokwa/Ukwani to be precise and we use the word "Isee" as an affirmation to a Prayer or Blessing. I want to believe Isee is used by a vast majority of the Igbo tribe and of any Igbo related tribe in any part of the country, although some clan still maintain and have their own word of affirmation in their dialect like "kpooh" as someone mentioned.

@Idennaa.... it doesn't matter what state or clan of the Igbo tribe you come from, the most important thing is the fact that you're an Igbo, it's saddening that you on different occasion said Anambra and Imo are not one, translating to mean two Igbo clans are not one just because you wanted to defend your clan, I thought to myself if you could say such of two Igbo clans just because they have been political grouped differently in two core Igbo state, what then would you say about the Igbo clans in Delta, Rivers, Cross River, it could only mean you don't consider them igbos at all. Trust me this and many other, is the reason why most Igbo clans who finds themselves grouped in a non core Igbo state is finding it hard identifying themselves as Igbos... This is a divide, rule and conquer policy by those who never meant well for the Igbo tribe, imagine the strength of all Igbo tribe United in one voices no matter what state you find yourself. Truly you need to look at the bigger picture just as yujin adviced.
Don't make yourself feel like a stranger amongst your Brethren. Every time I travel around any Eastern state, there's this confidence of being among fellow brothers that comes first before being weary of the poor condition of the country at large.

@Yujin... Kudos... You have spoken well.. I really appreciate your comments.

It's really an interesting thread catching up from the first, but I don't think it's a good idea trying to make a clan superior to the other in this present time.. there's a reason why it's called history, it doesn't make it 100% accurate. Remember a lie undiscovered becomes the truth and after a long time becomes history.
we can argue reasonably to learn without throwing jabs and uppercuts.
Every person from your neck of wood I have met in the last 20 yrs of my life not only deny Igbo but they show brutal hatred to the Igbo. So, I dont understand where you are coming from...its difficult to discuss with people who hate you so much for no reason.

As per my comments about Anambra and the rest I am not here to subjugate or denigrate any person but I will not let lies fly around nor watch outsiders cut Anambra in little pieces and pit us against our brothers. I am following a group of southern Igbo who hates the position of Anambra and our influence and their main purpose is to create a crack in the Anambra cultural solidity. Our identity and culture is of utmost importance and that needs to be protected and I dont want to have certain conversations with people who aren't from Anambra.

I have no problem with Igbo unity and I will even vote the Anambra hating Dave Umahi but I will never let any living soul have a shot at disintegrating Anambra and creating division and confusion in my father's land. Let them leave Anambra alone and stop disrespecting the position of Eze Nri and our nation and there will be peace.
