The way they pressed wasn't so in the first half because it became weak toward the later part of the match Bros , there was never a time you had the midfield under complete control. The reason is quite clear, NO CREATIVE MIDFIELDER IN THE PACK! |

U only watched 20 minutes of d game and u are now saying he was majestic...
Ajayi was the one playing DM,Agu came in for Onyeka at CM in the second half..
All this attempt to spite Ndidi in a game u didn't fully watch is comedic.... You have integrity, so , show it! Saying he was "okay" was being economic with the truth. Agu has both creative defensive abilities. The boy rugged ! The boy is a tough nut....you have eyes and I know you saw how he moved with the ball , the confidence , quickness and awareness...lol. jihday: Midfield is the engine room of any team, one of them was a debutant the other one was playing there for the first time for us and the only regular was the one that impressed, Agu who have always been a part of the team came in and impress, do you think it's by coincidence? Kalu/Sanusi and Chuks/Ebuehi don't have any form of chemistry between them, would have been a great miracle if they had managed to do anything worthy. If Rohr had started Kelvin according to many prematch rumor, it would have been a massacre Another opinion on Agu's performance from yesterday's game. Cc. I started watching the match around when Agu was introduced and I didn't know who had the 10 jersey until after the game...and I thought we had a proper 10! I hope Rohr starts him and Tijani in our next game. Why would a coach play a defender in the position of DM when you are spoiled with players who thrives naturally in that position. It's senseless! Ajayi should have started with Balogun in defence or Akpoguma. Personally, I don't rate Ekong but he is very strong at defending and aerial ability |

Danielnino00: Onuachu isn't the kind of striker that thrives in a team where there is little creativity in midfield and poor crosses from the flank... He shouldn't have started yesterday... He is a good player, but in games like this,u need a striker that can drop deep and hustle for the ball and allow your wingers cut in occasionally... U saw how Osimhen effortlessly provided two assists in his last match against Lesotho?. Our attack generally was poor yesterday... Iwobi was d only midfider that tried to get the ball forward in the first half... Onyeka and Ajayi were just noddin and kicking the ball around... And you think the addition of a player with near zero creativity will fix the problem. Put Ndidi in a game like that and he will turn carpenter. These Algerians are not to be toyed with ooo |

Nidid as at now,has no real competition in the team... No, Agu is a better DM when it comes to creative play. Philosopher1979: That is it. Big club or league mentality is overrated. We should try and see how players fit into our game plan. Iheanacho despite his strughles in leicester adds something to our attack. Ohanachu should be dropped for someone else. All this dem Terem mofffi arokodare eyc deserve a chance Honestly, I dont see any sense in starting Onyeka and Ajayi ahead of Agu who is a natural CM/DM. Rohr is just too tactically poor. He is spoiled with talented players yet he doesn't how to play them. Also , Tijani is almost ripe for SE and that boy is soon gonna steal somebody's shirt. He is a natural midfield baller much like Agu. The little boy also got courage and unleashed a shot that missed target...thats a sign of a player who is ready to ball. Indeed, Iheanacho was very lively but still Rohr is still trying to use him as a 9 and I disagree with that. Iheanacho should be played as a pseudo 9. His set pieces were also very dangerous. I wonder how it will turn out if we play him next to Onuachu as a SS cum AM. Onuachu should not be dropped but he doesn't have to start the matches and as per here and now , he is in good form and you cant ignore that. |

Philosopher1979: Apart from Ramin Azeez Rohr should try Samson Tijani in the next friendly. He is a natural midfielder. He should try some radicalism in his selection In fact, I think Tijani and Agu should start from the middle...they are both natural midfielders who can hold the ball and play good passes. And , anybody that says Agu played badly yesterday needs to go back and pay attention whenever the number ten held the ball. He was playing like an attacking midfielder. Just because Agu is not playing for a top club does not remove his qualities. |

Olulong: mehn an eyesore of a match My observations: Ndidi, Etebo and Osimhen don't have able replacement. Will love to see Dessers tho. Agu and Onuachu should just take this match as a testimonial. Azeez is miles ahead of whoever we paraded in the middle today
Ebuehi and Sanusi were very good. Chukwueze and Kalu probably had their worse performance in a Nigerian jersey so far. But then, after they were substituted we had zero goal threat. Their poor performance could be because there was no striker they could link up with.
Ekong was probably the worst of any of our player who played as a defender today. Balogun was really impressive
Okoye was very solid and confident
Gernot Rohr has to be the biggest flop today. Zero reading of the game, zero tactical input. Poor substitutions.
Tunisia has to be better and hope we see more of the new guys as well so we'll know who are the quality ones and who are the pretenders Agu had a very decent outing, oga Long. Which match did you watch ? |

Icon4s: The team started poorly(Typical of this team). And Algeria did their homework on that and capitalized on it well.
Except for the shaky start, and early goal, the defense did creditably well. Balogun was my man of the match. The duo of Ekong and Ajayi also did ok. Sanusi did creditably well. Is he better than Aina? Too early to call, but now we know we have an extra man there. Ebuehi looked match rusty as he was mostly on the back foot against the Algerian number 20. Plus his crosses were poor. Akpoguma, looked overwhelmed. Looked like he had stage fright
Our Midfield was the weakest link, especially in the first half. Mikel Agu looked an improved player. Frank Onyeka did just fairly well in the first half, for a debutant but we really missed an Ndidi. Most of Iwobi's passes were not actually the best but his work rate was awesome. Samson Tijani Showed some little sparks of promise.
Chukwueze was our greatest threat going forward in the first half. Samuel Kalu was not his usual self, wasting chances all over. Simon brought in more pace and direct play but Musa looked like a player on the verge of retirement.
Onuachu, due to lack of good balls from the midfield struggled to make impact. Chances were few for him. Iheanacho came in an added more sense of urgency in the attack but the Algerian defense did a good job on him.
Maduka Okoye, started shaky, but improved as the game progressed.
We lost but there are some take homes from this game. Remember we played against the African champions.
We look forward to the Tunisia game. I said Michael Agu looked confident on the ball and somebody said he was poor |

MetalJigsaw: Rohr is just an average coach at best. He lacks a lot of qualities and it was so glaring today. He only knows how to recruit players but doesn't know how to use them. I honestly expected him to have improved .
Onuachu is a scam. He only came to embarrassed himself more. Very slow and he can't press. Who says he can hold up play . Always afraid to do so.
Chukwuweze is not only an average player but he lacks common intelligence. He's soo predictable. Always trying to dribble even though he's facing thousands of opponents Why not be unpredictable for once. Anytime he's with the ball his marker knows what's he's going to do. Such an annoying one-way player.
Semi Ajayi is not a midfielder. He put every foot wrong. He was crap!
Onyeka is nothing. A disappointment. He was no where to be found.
Ekong doesn't deserve to be assistant captain. I've never seen such a flop wearing a captain band in my life. I'm sure he felt the embarrassment.
Ebuehi is good.
Balogun still has it.
Agu is below average.
Akpo hmmmm seems like a ridiculously overrated player. But I won't conclude yet. Need to see him again.
Onuachu staying too long on the pitch gave us no hope of equalizing.
Iwobi is a baller. Chukwueze had a bad day, so , chill. Your emotions got better of you, sir |

Karlovich: Its really a big shame that our wingers can't deliver decent crossings, one begins to wonder what they do in training, it's so bad that our CF is the one taking corner kicks, it's so appalling, smh Samuel kalu and Chukwueze were a big disappointment in this game Those Algerians will not give you room to operate...they are ffucking aggressive and tough to play. We need to play them very physical...dem nobi Oyibo...blacks in oyibo skin. Cant you see Ajayi was getting frustrated, so was Balogun but Akpoguma na tough guy and he remained discipline , checking their speedy runs and intrusions. You need a 100% disciplined Nigerian side to put these Amazigh in their place. If you play cool with them they will bloody you up while screaming pains! |

This Algerians are very aggressive and they put their life in line....that much is obvious. I only saw like 18 minutes and they totally dominated the midfield with aggression and quickness. Set piece let us down again but I am more impressed with the composure of our backline...Balogun is still a badaass player and Akpoguma played with that Germain discipline. Agu should have started...dude has massive confidence on the ball and Tijani get liver. The boy will be good in few years. Iwobi ? He was not terrible and I am surprised his confidence is getting better and Nacho still got those good long range. |
