benji93: Then what's the point of all these discussions? What's the point of this thread all others of its kind? Witohut making reasonable comparisons, what the hell is football all about? You must enjoy mediocrity a lot. Why the hell do we need a coach self? Not to talk of a foreign coach? Why the hell do we need boots? Why the hell do we need socks? We could play with our legs? Why the hell do we need a ball? We could kick oranges. Maybe our folks can actually take these things seriously and learn. We may never be as deeply technical as they are, but it's definitely not too late to learn. O sorry i forgot, most of our folks are still at least 2/3 years older. Maybe that's why they cannot develop the techniques. . If one is truly an 18-20 year old talented player, you can still develop the techniques if you focus, work hard and learn. At least you get to hone your talent with techniques that particularly most important. We know you are underprivileged. Most of us have been all our lives. How about we shut up and get to work? The point is that those who are comparing these players from different backgrounds are doing it based on the clubs these players play for. Why would I compare Arnold , the Liverpool right back to Awaziem who is been tossed around without any regard for his development and confidence. Every year my Nigga has to play with a new set of players he knows little about yet he remained strong. You think Ejuke will not trash Grealish if he was playing top flight English league. You think if Nwakali was English he will go through the same hell that almost ruined his career just because he is a Nigeria. The same suffering he went through was what put him where he is today and made his fellow Nigerians called him a failure! Now , think about this , if I say Nwakali is more talented than any English born AM you will shut me down with , " let him prove himself, firstly" without having in mind that this player had never enjoyed the same opportunities that made you rate these English players ahead of him. That's my point! |

There is an underlying issue people do not consider when they compare English players to Nigerian players. This is the issue; the English players have massive opportunities and privilege to feature in the EPL notwithstanding how poor they are and even the average ones get to play for top English clubs and this helps with player growth , development and confidence. The Nigerian players you are comparing them with dont have these benefits , especially those born in Africa.
Take Awaziem, Nwakali , Ejuke , and Kalu for instance. These player , if English will enjoy the opportunity of playing to football in England and after some season when their potentials have been developed you would call them world class.
If we have a decent league in Nigeria where the average earning is at least one million Naira per month and the clubs are structured to professional standards I can bet you that we will beat England mercilessly every time we meet them. Most of our talented players never received the early teachings they need...Taye Taiwo and Ahmed Musa are perfect examples...raw undeveloped talents.
When Enyimba of Aba reigned supreme in Africa I can point out five players from that set that could cost at least 5 million dollars if was a Brazilian club that won the Champions League back to back....Muri Ogunbiyi, Damian Ude, Onyekachi Okonkwo , late Romanus Orjinta and the bully and skillful Ekene Ezenwa. These players if Brazilians would have raked in about 50 million dollars for the club. Especially, the midfield terroristic duo of Muri and Onyekachi.
Final point, don't compare two players until they have both received the same opportunities. |

TheSuperNerd: Glad you are getting it. But no... Kingsley Michael was not even the "pure playmaker". He was just the midfield runner. Nwakali was the actual playmaker. He dictated play from deep most times at the U-17 WC and the FIFA study group specially mentioned the rarity of seeing a coach use a "Number 10" at that level (cadet level) to dictate/playmake from deep positions in midfield. They were astounded at the tactics and commended it.
So my point is this. Yes, Nwakali can function as a #10 but he is a born and natural DLP. So CM suits him much much more.
And finally... It is still very early to be talking about Nwakali in the Eagles now. I remember I pointed out to Chris in a discussion that I won't have Nwakali being invited now. I need to see more of him in La Liga. Let him show more of himself in La Liga. After that, then at any point in 2021, his invite will be inevitable. So take it step by step and ACCEPT THAT IWOBI IS OUR TEAM'S First choice AM.
Inugo? There is no need to twist and turn these discussions because its actually very simple. The common denominator here is "attacking midfielder" and all these other prefixes are subjective. You can use your own words to define these positions and they wont be wrong. I used pure because he functioned further up than Nwakali, whether you chose to call him a " midfield runner" is your choice, alone. That's NOT the final definition, inugo. And , finally, I didn't say invite him now, you are way smarter than that. But , additionally, you DONT decide when I call for any players invitation. Slow your roll. |

Danielnino00: I will ask you this question again, for like the 3rd time... What are the qualities Ndidi lack as a defensive midfielder? And give us examples of modern day defensive midfiders that posses such qualities Ndidi lack... I dont have to tick all the conventional definition of a DM. I want a DM that can move with the ball. For instance, Kaita moves with the ball , as in making moves with with ball still in your possession. And, please , dont post YouTube videos of the best of Ndidi because I have seen them. |

TheSuperNerd: Kelechi Nwakali actually played majorly as a Deeplying Playmaker at Chile 2015. He was CAM at some point, CM at some point and then absolutely DLP at most other points. Nwakali had a free role in that midfield three and was hard to pin down by opponents.
This is part of what made the FIFA study group at that U-17 WC marvel at the tactics used by Amunike in moving his "#10" a lot deeper into midfield with Kingsley Michael roaming as the mobile box-to-box/Midfield runner operating between the opponents' defensive lines in Central areas and Enogela doing the dirty work at the Midfield's base too. This is in order, Nerd. I understand the indept analysis but we are saying similar things. The point being that he can play anywhere from above the CM base to SS. Thats why I call him the midfield boss. Furthermore, though , Kingsley Michael was sort of the "pure" playmaker , Nwakali was still more effective and dangerous around the box. |

andrewbaba44: Nwakali won’t displace iwobi while playing for huesca sorry bro The only way this will be possible is if Nwakali quits soccer!! But the minute he gets substituted for Iwobi you will instantly see the ocean in class. Iwobi is a makeshift AM , remember that. You guys forget so soon that Iwobi never flourished there. Yes , he had scored some goals but when it comes to holding the AM and dictating play he doesnt have the stamina , the lungs not the long range vision. You know these things naa, baba |

mostob: And Partey lacks some qualities Ndidi possesses. For someone that was converted from CB to DM, Ndidi might not show his attacking prowess now but that does not mean he is lacking in that department. If he had it , it will show ,naturally. Ndidi cant push a ball not because he was instructed against it but he dont have that skill set. You cant learn some of these things. Etebor is a good example ;the coaches want to convert a left forward into a CM/DM. Like playing Nacho as a top 9. It won't work. So , can fit into an old-fashioned DM but because he was a defender but he will fail in the duties of a CM |

JayromWrites: Possible line up for tomorrow
GK-Okoye(we know Rohr sha, e no go like bench am)
Defence
Ola Ekong(Ajayi) Balogun(akpoguma) Zaidu
Midfield
Onyeka Agu Iwobi
Attack
Chukwueze Dessers Kalu(simon)
I don't think Rohr will start Paul upfront with wingers like chukwueze and Kalu, where the crossing wan comot from
Collins shouldn't start aswell, haven't played much this season Omerou as well... If balogun is fit, it should be the oyinbo wall or bring in another oyinbo to replace... There is also a Semi Ajayi sef
Ola aina at Right back, Zaidu at left back Make fine boy Tyrone enter second half
The midfield matter tayah me sha... Aina can't start ahead of Ebuehi who has been playing since his return from injury. Simon has absolutely nothing to offer SE other than tracking back to do defensive job. His end product is nothing to cheer about. |

For instance, if Barca, a team known with passes and Passings, should sign Ndidi today, we all will discover another aspect of Ndidi's game we might never see at leceister.
