mktinsight:
Isiagu is a neighboring town not an Awka suburb. It's called Eke AWKA not Eke Isiagu. Awka has lots of land at Ifite Awka and at Agu Awka. That is where it should be built not Isiagu. Agu Awka in particular is less than 5 km from the original Eke Awka along Zik Avenue and is practically undeveloped. The government should design the market and sell stalls to traders and run it. The old Eke Awka should be removed entirely and a city hall built there. Of course what they are not saying is the fact that the Catholic Church is the biggest landlord in Eke Awka.
It has been addressed, sir.
Thanks

Ok , the proposed market is to be sited at a different location but I am concerned about the current state of eke Awka and all these other condemnations by the Commissioner of individuals who build stalls indiscriminately in the market is nothing but shameful. What is the job of the Commissioner and the task force established by the state?

The state is crying over civilians who are breaking laws while they (government) do nothing about it. Obiano has been a governor for 6yrs plus yet nothing has been done about eke Awka. Motorist , petty traders , illegal stalls , hawkers etc have turned our state capital into a dumpster. It's a failure of Obiano government!

ANAMBRA State is making plans to build a world-class market that befits Awka, the state capital.

Briefing newsmen in his office at Awka, the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Market and Wealth Creation and Industry, Anambra State, Dr. Christian Chukwuma Madubuko stated that the market to be built must be of international standard.

He argued that the state capital is long overdue for a standard market, noting that the congested Eke Awka Market does not portray the right image needed to profile the state, the most populous and industrialized state in the South East in Nigeria. He cited the Austrian standard as the benchmark for the international market. “This means the market must have motor parks, fire station, and every other thing you can think of in a modern market.”

The commissioner condemned the attitude of some individuals who park their vehicles anywhere they like in the market; and some market leaders who build illegal shops and all sorts of attachments inside the market, to make money for themselves, describing the situation as abnormal and totally unacceptable by Anambra State government.

Dr. Madubuko stressed that markets ought to have wide pathways to allow free flow of vehicles, also pedestrians’ paths for human traffic. He pointed out that markets are supposed to be the cleanest place, with proper drainage and waste disposal system, all these which will be a common feature in the new Awka market.

SEE ALSO: Commodity price as at this week
The commissioner revealed that the proposed new market would be rid of fraudsters, who collect revenue from traders and to enrich themselves; dupe and pickpockets, who deceive and steal from unsuspecting buyers.

The Commissioner therefore declared that in no distant time, Eke Awka Market must surely be decongested and rebuilt to reach modern standards because the state government is making efforts to give Ndi Anambra the best they deserved.

Innoson is obviously developing greater capacity to produce vehicles at a faster rate due to automated facilities at his plant in Anambra. Anambra state government took delivery of these ones from IVM. Buy Anambra, to grow Anambra.

Nwanne, why do you have this habit of ignoring question posed by Ndi Anambra? Do you think we are stupid or what. I know you work for the state and the best you can do is to give us some reasonable response.

Why is eke Awka still looking like a squalor ?

Why the sand dunes

Where are the trees along our major roads and streets...this kills me!

I have like a million questions but I just want simple answers.

If Obiano finish The following projects before he step down.... (1) cargo airport... (2) ICC Awka (3) Awka township stadium.....I think he will be celebrated and considered as genuine hero in Anambra.... Then the next Governor should focus mainly on roads dualizing, city beatification,,construction of more fly over bridges and effective sanitation.
I need a governor who has a sense of doing things the right way...sand dunes on the roads , water supply , poor road finishing with side walk and green areas, tree planting along all major highways and streets, eke Awka demolished and build department stores with great architecture. We need a man with taste, culture, class and a doer

I actually find Forgiveness' inclusion of Nacho behind Osimhen as very interesting indeed. I have always considered such combo alongside many other formation set-ups. Nothing against Iwobi too. It's good to have this headache. grin
In a 4-4-2 Iheanacho/Osimhen will be murderous but you need a proper creative player behind them even Iwobi won't be bad for the first 45 minutes.

Winning the ball can be a style of play at that is Ndidi's best attribute, he just needs to learn how to progress the ball and he is a top notch modern day DM
Not my preference and we can agree to disagree. I am not taking anything away from Ndidi but he has not done much in SE colors. I want a player with more creativity and less combat. Ndidi is a combative DM unlike Agu , Zuby etc.

We are saying the same thing.

Americans are business oriented too, but you don't see them abandoning their home and dispersing themselves all over the world, do you?
Igbo did not abandon their homes. We are the most home oriented Africans that's why we build up our villages with magnificent castles. On the other hand some tribes in Nigeria only claim Lagos and ashamed to mention their state. You know very little about Igbo and it's sad you are debating what you know little about. We will chase money wherever we see it and return to invest in our land....have you not seen the industrial revolution going on in Anambra champion by Obiano. The Aku luo unor initiative.

You guys are blinded by deep seated hate which influences your illogical reasoning. It's pathetic. Your Yoruba tribes are also scattered all over Ghana , Benin , Libya, South Africa , and Lebanon doing house girl/slave work. Fix your own people, firstly!

Playing him at DM actually plays to his strengths, he has the freedom to win the ball at any part of the pitch at snuff out attacks
Modern day DM do more than just winning balls and winning should not be a designation of a DM , the whole team should be winning balls. This is how Mikel was cut short and his progress derailed.

Also, I guess the millions of Igbos in Ibadan, Akure, Ogbomosho, Ogun state, Ondo, Ilesha, Oyo and every nook and cranny of Yorubaland are there because of the International airport and seaport that's in Lagos abi?

Keep deceiving yourself.
Generally, Igbo are business driven and we go anywhere we can make money including but not limited to China , Afghanistan , Pakistan , Japan , India , Brazil , Congo , Iran etc.

I agree. People migrate to a place of better opportunities.

Second, I agree, it won't remain the same because you will definitely need a visa to access the place you've always boarded a bus to go without a second thought.

ECOWAS passport be damned!
No , the economic climate will change. Other sea ports and airports will be build in the East. The only reason people migrate to Lagos is very simple...international airport , Port and other related services like embassies , multinationals etc. You dont get , do you. You think you are special?

What relationship do IPOBians have with history other than to revise it fraudulently to suit their need to steal what is valuable and belonging to others?

Is it not the greed of Igbos to control the oil wealth of Nigeria, through annexation and assimilation of the Niger Delta into Biafra, that led to to civil war?
Spreading falsehood will not help you. All we are saying is that we will not pay a dime to use any gaddem water ways and if you Ijaw try to stop us then you better go resurrect your Ijaw militants...keep your oil , we are sitting on a very large gas reserve.

You lots keep writing trash online to poison people's mind without a single element of fact as if the reason war was fought was not made clear by Nigeria and international reporter's.

Take a look at the current situation in Nigeria and ask yourself, which region are people migrating to mostly... That region is the one that will be most successful...especially if they don't repeat the mistakes of Nigeria.
Don't be smart by half. People migrate for a reason. You don't expect things to remain the same in the event of secession.

All these people hiding under south south identity will tear race when the first bullet is fired and a man drops dead. Who are the south south ? It's not Akwa-Cross , no Bini , Uhrobo , Itshekiri but IJAW! If the Ijaws are very stupid then let them attempt to stop our ships. Nonsense...we have fought war before and have mighty experience , we have the brains to decimate any minority groups who stands in the way of our success. They keep screaming south south as if they are united in one ethnic group...nobi this south south where Ijaw dey kill fellow Ijaw ?

That oil wells wet dey give you useless confidence na im we go first blow into debris.....better be nice to the Igbo and enjoy peace instead of forming James Bond with militants who doesn't even know how to hold guns. Igbo in diaspora can sponsor a war like Israeli while the Ijaw only has oil well in a world where oil is becoming depreciated in value.

War is very destructive and I pray south south don't try to frustrate Igbo progress by using waterways to exploit Biafran.
