If u say u don't mind having abortion for whatever reason, just say that without dishonesty.
At 2 months, the baby has its identity, even heart beat.Your logic is shoddy and horribly twisted. 'an early stage blood clot' is devoid of fact supported by science.
There are countless women who had babies outside wedlock(as some have admitted on this forum) and they're happy today they kept their children looking back.It might be tough but it's worth it.

you said you have individual rooms. Do you share dishes, etc? If not, get a couple boxes. Anything that is still where it was 12 hours later, you put in the box in front of their room. You don't clean it, don't throw it away, just put there.

Politics › Re: The Problem With Nigeria? by idiot(m): 4:14am On Mar 18, 2006
the problem is the politicians.

unfortunately, it takes a dictator to solve nigerias problems. . . too bad nigeria has had bad experiences with dictators.

you essentially need to remove every non performing politico from office. . .this would cover about all of them.

you replace them, and repeat every 3 months.

You need to pay police a fair wage. Whenever you hear of police corruption, you investigate. If the finds are true, you jail any caught for ten years. Once released, they can never work for the federal government again. In fact, anyone ever jailed cannot work for the gov again. Any politico ever fired/removed can never work for the fed again.

After about 2 years, you will see drastic change in nigeria.

if you can write it all in c, it would be easy to have html wrappers around the actual web interface. It really doesn't matter your development platform, it just has to support databases pretty well. Ultimately, you need to fully spec out what you want your system to accomplish. It seems like you are just blindly looking for an auction program. . . and even if you found one. . . it would be useless to you until you defined what you wanted to do.
Programming › Re: Building Nigerians Programmers A Home by idiot(m): 4:03am On Mar 18, 2006
lol. . .someone is seriously comparing corruption in the nigerian government with that in the US government.

geton. . . let me tell you something.

I am an average person. If my government steals $10billion, provides me with food, water, electricity, education, everything I want with the opportunity for me to get more if i work hard and study, I am happy. I will not like the corruption, I will try and stop it, but I will be happy.

On the other hand, if my government steals all that, then tells me it has no money to feed me, give me water, maintain stable electricity (though it is able to do so for foreign nations to which it sells this selfsame electricity), give me an eduation that is useful, and provides little hope for me in terms of working hard and improving my situation, I will hate it with a passion.

That is the difference between corrupt nigerian government and corrupt american government. Even with the corruption here, the majority of the population is not below the poverty line (in the united states). On the other hand, the situation reversed in nigeria, where 98+% of the population is below poverty.

There is little basis for objective comparison between the two. No matter what is wrong with the USA now, it is still a much better place than Nigeria is at the moment.

I'm not saying I don't plan on trying to change that, but these are the facts, and I can understand a person being overwhelmed with having to deal with life in Nigeria.
Nairaland General › Re: Why Nigerian Videos Or Cds Always Bootleg? by idiot(m): 3:52am On Mar 18, 2006
lol, they are not bootleg. . .that how the movie people put out their videos.

Sorry to disappoint you, but nigerian movie makers don't care about quality.

Have they not made enough money to buy higher resolution cameras. Is there not free software to encode video to DVD?

Is there not commercial dvd copying machines?

Are there not miniature microphones you can attach to the clothing of an actor which will go undetected?

Are there not carts you can place tripods on (cameraman too) so that when you do any scene where the camera chases a person, it is actually steady and not bouncing up and down like someone is holding it and walking about (which the cameraman is doing)

there are so many deficiencies which could be corrected with just a little time and effort. Sometimes, I wonder how lucrative it would be to hire actors to reenact the exact same movie, only this time, we up the quality of everything. I'd bet I'd outsell the original.

It's really sad. . shows how nigerians hog their money, they just get it and cant think about using it to improve anything.

@idiot

erm,
I'm not vouching for the accuracy of the pictures but I will pick holes in your argument to support your hypothesis that the pictures have been photoshopped.

Lane markings
Take a look at the 1st picture, you can see that there are two sets of lane markings and that there are two sets of directional arrows, one more faded than the other. It is possible that the road was relined to create more lanes and the "older" marking were not totally wiped out. I put it to you that the lane markings that you claim are too wide or in the wrong place are due to confusion over which set of lines "old" or "new" you are focusing on.

Improbable location of the car within the lanes
Well given the state of the car, the country in which it is being driven and erratic human nature, how can you define what the more probable location for a car is. Even in the US where you get a ticket for driving badly, people drive skewed towards one side of their lane, and though it is a stretch what makes you think he wasn't attempting to switch lanes.

Plants in the window
Take a closer look at that picture, infact get a magnifying glass, you will see there is a concrete central divider and that the plants are on the other side of the road you will also see the top of the cars on the other side of the freeway, now look slightly to the right, you will see the left side mirror of the car beside the "hooptie", given the placement of that I doubt you can expect to see any part of that car through the front passenger window. And you can obviously see it through the rear passenger window.

Now take a look @ pic15724, you can obviously see a reflection of the "hooptie's" bumper on the side of the car on the right.

Yes, pictures are now photoshopped regularly, but your evidence here is not rock-solid.
Old lane markers. . .ok, I'd give you that. . .doesn't explain the cars odd positions . , in ALL the pictures. . . . maybe the photographer just always caught him changing lanes. . huh?

Yes. . .I drive skewed towards one side depending on which mirror's position I like best. however, I'm still in a lane. . . .if you look at those pictures, in some, the boy isn't in any actual lane. . . that weirdness points to photoshopping. .

The concrete barrier. . . ok, so that one is not so definite, still, look at the traffic around the guy, in almost all the scenes, the traffic is bumper to bumper. . .but somehow, that car is an island to itself. . with the exception of a couple photos.

Sure, its not concrete evidence. . not like there is any upsidedown cows flying through the image or any mirrors on the car reflecting things which could not possibly be there (though you would probably argue that its possible just very very highly improbable and thus not concrete evidence. . )

Let me put it this way, if i got paid to mark photos as being real or fake, I'd have no qualms marking those as fake.

ok, look at the window on the right side of the car in pic11478.jpg right behind the driver. See those plants where there should be a car. See, the artist forgot that detail with that pic.

dude, there were kids in my high school who could DRAW that picture. (well, actually. . . only two were good enough that they could draw and color it to match. . . )

First year graphics arts majors (those who have B averages or better) at my university can do this kind of stuff

You obviously have not seen good photoshopped images. . . . that's how bad this one is.
If for the sake of mere arguments you ferret all kinds of notions, it is understandable that you do so because you would not want to believe in God; but that in itself does not mean that God does not exist. The problem here is that you are actually trying to argue that He does not exist because you don't want Him to. Still it does not change anything about the existence of God. Let me reference a quote from you:

"Merciful is shooting a man in the head when he is being burned alive with no hope of being saved."

Where in my writeup did I describe mercy that way? Then you draw the inference that -

"I've never heard/read/seen God do that. So, God cannot be merciful."

So, if shooting someone in the head is the meaning of mercy to you, does it establish the non-existence of God because God hasn't shot anyone in the head while being burnt alive? How cheeky could you get?

Apart from reading posts out of contexts to such extremities, it's very disappointing that when you want to talk about the non-existence of God you actually pick up limited constraints. The point is, does God exist or does He not? If God does not exist, on what empirical basis do you make that claim? Words may be taken out of context to mean things they are never meant to - as in your example of mercy. If you want to discuss issues as a hard-nosed atheist, clearly state your claims and let's take it up from there.
Well. . .damn man. . how do you define mercy? Give me your definition, and I'll construct an example around it. Then, we'll see if God adheres to that example.

You still don't understand. . . if we say that God makes all water fall at 10m/s and I can prove that water being poured out of a jar does not fall at 10m/s, then either it means God does not actually make water fall at that speed, or what we define as God, does not exist.

So, what I'm saying is either YOU have incorrect definitions of God, or, if by definition, God is, for example, omnibenevolent, then God, as defined by the bible, cannot exist.

It doesn't matter how narrow I pick at your argument.

If I examine a diamond of excellent cut, I should see near perfect facets, no matter what angle I use to look at the diamond.

If you are saying that your argument for the existence of God only works if I consider it from your viewpoint, but not any possible view, then. . . God as you define it, cannot exist. And there would be no point in discussing it further with you.

I have not said God cannot exist or does not exist, just so far, the God you are describing cannot possibly exist.
Nairaland General › Re: Picture Of Lastest Toyota Corolla For Sale by idiot(m): 2:01am On Mar 18, 2006
look at the lane markings in the last picture. Look at the front left wheel (lane marker there). look at the rear right wheel (even more obvious lane marker). Lane markers are wider than cars. Even if one was "real", the other would have to be fake.

What was even more obvious, look at the car and its location relative to the other cars and other lanes. Perhaps nobody who has seen this picture here drives. . . but that is a very highly improbable location for a car.

The second picture is also quite obviously a fake.

The third picture is fake too. Not quite as obvious, but the lane marker under the rear right tire is too large in the picture. They managed to get the car to approximately the right size for its location. Additionally, the distortion in the picture apparently was not photoshopped very well. It doesn't make sense that a camera would have different focus settings over a single picture. . .there is no camera that uses multiple lens and foci to take a single shot.

Wow. . PhotoShop has become such a ubiquitous product. . .it has formed its own verb.

But anyway, its easy to see that this wasn't a "taken" picture. Just look at the last one. . .there is a lane marker near the front of the car barely visible underneath, and there is another by the rear wheel. Weird huh?
Computers › Re: Recovering Of Lost Data by idiot(m): 11:13pm On Mar 17, 2006
lets see, you copied data from your flash drive. . . but you cannot view the folder contents, though it does occupy some space.

Quick diagnostic questions:

1) File System of your machine before format

2) File System of machine after format

- if these are not compatible, you may just be experiencing this issue

Next Step

1) Try looking at the files on another machine. Unless you are a government agent who is sworn to keep this data secret. . . you must be me if you did not go somewhere else and try looking at the data on your flash drive.

Think about this while you are going to a friends computer

1) Did you verify that you actually copied the data and could view the files on your flash drive?
2) Are there other files on your flash drive which open fine?

If this fails, you are approaching some serious Sh*t
1) In unix, you could look at the data byte by byte. . .really bit by bit if you really wanted to, if the data is that important, and you have a thorough knowledge of the file types that were there, you can reconstruct missing hearder information or corrupt information which could keep them from showing up on your desktop

If You are At this Step
- unless you have lots of money to spend and this is super important to you, you are screwed. Give up, tear your hair, and go about your business. You will not recover this data without having to spend lots of money. There is NO freely available anything that would do this. Anyone with the knowhow to do this knows the value of their knowledge.
