I don't have any issue with the number of first class CU produced. My problem is the age of the graduands. The VC claimed that 10 of the CU first class graduates are less than 19. If this is true, then I think JAMB and NUC should sanction CU. The minimum age required for admission into any Nigerian University according to JAMB is 16 (by October of the year of admission). If this stands, then CU is admitting underaged candidates....just my opinion. Congrats to the Eagles!!! |
I wanted to study Medicine but JAMB "JAMBED" me two times and i finally ended up studying Statistics. |
Where are those calling for "India Must Go"...lol |

That is why Manchester United will remain the richest club in the World. Kagawa is a very good player, also it is purely a marketing stretegy. Remember Chicharito, we needed to keep growing the fan base in South America. |
@Beaf, This post which you condem was published by Punch Newspaper who are news reporters. Mukina is just a moderator. You don't expect him to call Reuben Abati to confirm his twitter account. So stop beafing and move on joor. |
callydon: For those who are justifying d sending out of students 4rm exam hall b'cos of skool fees,I av one question 4U.If U are a finalist n for some reason COMPLETELY beyond ur help U cud nt PAY ur skool fees n U were sent out. Do U knw dat means Automatic EXTRA YEAR n at d end of it all,U'll still be expected to pay d fees even after it had cost u an EXTRA year......And is that enough reason to destroy school properties. SMH. There are sacrificies you should make as undergraduates; how many of your mates have thought of doing menial jobs while studying or even on vacation? I bet 0.01%. I paid my fees from first to final year without any family support. What if you get expelled for protesting after 4 or 5years? Think twice...EXTRA year is not the end of the world. It will only spur you to work harder, pay your fees and move on to a higher level. |
I listened to the call yesterday on AIT. Very sad! They said Jonathan should meet their demands within 78 hours or Abuja and Lagos would be hit big time. They said the want to meet with Jonathan one on one...can't remember all that was said, but the Boko guy spoke in very good English though with the Northern accent. It is well for Naija! |

Breaking News: Unconfirmed report: bomb blast at ThisDay office, Jabi, Abuja |
My dad and sister resides in Kaduna. They just called to say an explosion has rocked the city of Kaduna. He said the explosion happened around Fina White House Hotel in Junction Road. |
First, is it NECO June/July or November/December? If it is the former, then you don't have any business going to any NECO office, you should therefore go to your secondary school and confirm if the original certificate have been forwarded. If you wrote the NECO GCE (ie November/December) then you will have to go to the State NECO office where you wrote the exams, you said "you've visited several NECO offices", just go to the State where you wrote the exam or NECO Headquarters Minna (if you are sure it has been printed). I'm sure you are not the only victim (ie if NECO is yet to print the certificates), so "FEAR NOT". Concentrate on your lectures while you make necessary contacts (secondary school/NECO office etc). Goodluck! |
wisepluto:President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is a graduate of University of Port so is his wife. Your concern should not be for those burning the midnight candle, but rather focus on ways to help your alma mata. It will not be a bad idea if you proceed to earn an MSc and PhD, then come back and teach those saddist the good ways. |

NYSC Eligibility The ESUT ODL offers two undergraduate options which are: i. Entry through the e-MSP - the students in the e-MSP are mature students (not below 25 years of age) and are not eligible for the NYSC. The entry requirement for this programme is five credits in the WAEC/NECO examinations only. UTME is not required to gain admission into this programme; ii. Entry through the UTME - the students in this entry option are required to have scored the minimum passmark in the UTME conducted for that particular year. The minimum age requirement is 16 years and they are eligible for the NYSC. The entry requirement for this programme is five credits in the WAEC/NECO examinations and a score above the official passmark in the UTME; |

I wish to apply to the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) for my Master of Science (MSc) degree for the 2012/2013 academic session. I am a 2011 Batch-B National Youth Service Corp member. My challenge is that one of the requirement for admission for the MSc programme is submission of an NYSC discharge certificate. The last day of submission of application is on the 27th of April, 2012 and my service year might end by June 2012. waiting for another academic year will definitely be frustrating My question is; - can i get admitted without submitting my NYSC discharge certificate? - I should have completed my NYSC before the beginning of the new academic session (September 2012) . I don't want to wait for another academic session (ie 2013/2014 before i apply, that will mean wasting another one year. |
Na today? Lagosians are smart people!!! No doubt. But, i can sure outsmart them; anytime any day. |
Gbigbon:, and who says he can't get an MSc and PhD with his HND. It will take him only about 9-12 months to get a Post Graduate Diploma while a BSc. will take him 3-4years. Abeg, my brother, get your PGD and move on. In life, what you can offer is the most important thing. Goodluck bro. |
Hell No! It is not a requirement. Your University Statement of Result is the most important of your documentation. Abeg no give yourself headache joor |
First, i want to clearly state that it is a Nigerian factor. Why will a University advertise inviting first and second choice candidates to write post-UTME test, at the end of the day only first choice candidates get admitted. This is pure fraud considering that second choice candidates also paid for post-UTME and many end up with high score better than the first choice candidates. Our Universities need to clearly state their criteria for admission, be it first or second choice. There is need for transparency in the process. |
Acidosis:Na dem dem. My school too don feature for front page too o. Congrats to all the 2010/2011 graduates of UNILAG: Welcome to the favour market First Choice University, i hail thee |
As at yesterday, there were still road blocks at Minna, today i left Minna for Abuja, the usual 2hours 30mins drive took over 4hours due to police road blocks and army blocks at Suleja (Army check points was because of the state of emergency in Suleja LGA). |
Chelsea - Drogba missed a penalty Manchester City - Kolo Toure also missed and Arsenal's Gervinho also missed too. o, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal, please accept my sympathy. |
So many questions for the Vice Chancellor of the Enugu State University of Technology to answer, but before we nail the university and the corrupt officials, we need to ask how all these happened in the first place. First, JAMB usually set a general admission cutoff mark of 160. Then most universities set cutoff marks ranging between 170 and 200. Why will anyone below a set cutoff approach any official? I recall in my first year, a friend had issues with his SSCE result (he had pass in Physics), he was not cleared at first. He used an upper hand and was cleared after parting away with over 40k. He made the result later and had it replaced before the final clearance. |
THE NSC FACEBOOK PAGE: The attention of the National Sports Commission has been drawn to posts on the Commission’s Page alleging that the Commission spent the sum of N1.2m to open a Facebook Page. Nothing can be further from the truth. The truth of the matter is: i) The idea to open a Facebook Page for the National Sports Commission (NSC) was muted by the ICT Unit of the Commission. The objective of the project was to “use Facebook as an interactive forum to connect the Nigerian youth all over the world with the National Sports Commission and its mission”. ii) During the course of briefing the immediate past Hon. Minister of Sports/Chairman, National Sports Commission, Alh. Yusuf Suleiman, he directed that a more aggressive approach be adopted in projecting the Facebook Page. The Hon. Minister (HM), who has a personal Facebook Page, also directed that the Facebook crew should accompany him to visit all the athletes and their coaches who were in various camps across the country in preparation for the 10th All Africa Games. Furthermore, he directed that the crew should attend the 10th AAG in Maputo to update the Page on happenings during the Games. iii) Consequent upon the Hon. Minister’s directives, a Memo dated August 2, 2011 seeking for N902,000.00 was approved for a two-man team to visit the various camps. This was to enable the crew interact directly with the athletes and their coaches and obtain firsthand information about them for Facebook Page. iv) Following the directive of the HM to adopt a more aggressive approach in projecting the Facebook Page, it was decided at the ICT Unit level that the NSC Facebook Page should be advertised in Facebook. An initial sum of $200 was committed to this. This immediately translated to a tremendous increase in the followership of the NSC Facebook within one week. v) It is no secret that Facebook Pages can either be used as: a) a personal social interactive forum; or b) a commercial tool to advertise goods and services, project a cause, draw awareness to products, canvass for followership, etc. The Commission’s Facebook Page was deployed for the second category, which naturally attracts advertisement costs. The creators of Facebook can be contacted on this. vi) Furthermore, following the success of the advert, another memo dated August 26, 2011 for N300,000.00 was approved to step up and extend the advertisement of the Page, purchase Internet Modems with a one month additional subscription. vii) We wish to state that: a) Opening of Facebook pages does not attract any form of payment and the NSC Facebook Page was opened at no cost. b) The initial $200 paid for advertisement was privately funded. c) The sums of N902,000.00 and N300,000.00 were approved for the Facebook Page crew to accompany the HM on his visits to the various camps of athletes and their coaches and to purchase internet modems with additional one month subscription respectively. Of this amount, the sum of $1,000 (N160,000.00) was to advertise the NSC Facebook Page in Facebook and the Page was so advertised. All the above can be verified. http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=323441654365795&id=208635555846406 Original discussion |
