AWKA—THE Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, yesterday, urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to prevail on the executive secretary of the National Universities Commission, NUC, Professor Julius Okogie to account for the N100 billion annual stabilization fund providedby the Federal Government for improvement offacilities in government-owned universities.
Chairman of Nsukka Zone of ASUU, Dr. Chidi Osuagwu, at a briefing on the on-going strike embarked upon by university lecturers in the country at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, accused the NUC boss of being a cog in the wheel of university education and development in Nigeria, adding that the strike would not have become necessary if the annual stabilization fund was properly managed.
He said: “We have not seen anything done with the stabilization fund. If the NUC has beenspending the money as expected, there would not have been this strike in the first place as the issues demanded by ASUU would have been taken care of.
“The EFCC and other agencies of government should investigate this matter in the interest ofthe growth of education in the country. ASUU embarked on the current strike as a result of the failure of the Federal Government to implement the agreement it willingly entered into with ASUU in October, 2009.
“Between 2009 and 2011, ASUU had made efforts in getting the government to implement the agreement by even embarking on warning strike

Nigeria is a great nation with some distinct peculiarities that makes it unique from other nations. Below are the features of Nigerian politicians.
1. Bribery disposition: To make it in nigerian political terrain,you must learn to give and accept bribes.
2. Play On People's intelligence: A good nigerian politician knows how to play people for his own benefits.
3. Good lying skill: this is a great quality. It paints you in good colour. It paves way for you when you are in and out of office.
4. Selfish: selfless people soar high in nigerian politics. Only the selfish ones make it.
5: skyrocketing thief: he must have starry eyes. He must steal big money to maintain life after office.
6. Neglecting and jittery: he must be able to neglect some public duties eg leave ASUU and Asup when they go on strike.
7. Thuggery: he must display some attitudes that show he is not a gentle man. He must be able to punch fellow politicians to keep his stand.
8. Strategic use of words: Nigerians are sentimental in nature. Words like i never wore a shoe, clothes will take them off guard.

Life creates problems. The number of problems one is able to solve in a life time determines the podium one rises to in the strata of life. To solve the many problems confounding humans,practical, analytical and spontaneous education is called for. It is a pity that fake thing gains popularity faster while genuine thing remains in the obscurity. Our society remains stagnant because its major components are tied round the frail neck of formal education.
Formal education consumes unnecessary time in one's ephemeral life with its curricular that undermine one's observational power and at the end gives one something that will help life foster the problems it creates. Formal education inflates one's ego upon nothing tangible but foreign language that has no localized linguistic and conventional interpretations. It teaches no moral but how to unmasked the fables of moral with trivial claims.
Formal education gives half baked humans that are fragile in the face of problem because it has no uncorrupted instruments for measuring true test of knowledge unlike the counterparts that makes one practical during training period before it eject one into the veins of the society. A carpenter is known for the works he does unlike the thousands of them out there that cannot pin point there relevance to life upon the printed papers of different rankings they carry about because they never use their brain while in school. They were fed with many obsolete write ups written by those who lived when life was easy and journey in one direction. Do you expect a person who has never used his or her to think and observe while in school to use his or her after school? No wonder those in the helm of power find it difficult to see vivid problems plaguing humanity.
Since communication is vital and makes one to be accepted in the wider world,why can't we use our early time to learn to write and read and use our God given observational skill to bake ourselves in the dynamics of life. Thanks

People erroneously believed that Theatre Arts as a field of study is for less serious minded persons who wouldn't excel in some assumed sophisticated courses like further mathematics,accounting,physics to mention but few. Theatre Arts is more than what people think. It is a course that needs more commitments and dedication more than any course no the face of the earth. Students of this glorious field read books by countless authors and also study life in general:the chronological activities of the people, ethereal and phenomenons affecting peoples in the void. Studying life and its cycles help theatre arts students to succeed in the industry after graduation. Financially, medicine and other seemingly powerful courses are no where to be found when it comes to spending of money. Theatre Arts involve countless practicals which are geared towards making a good theatre practitioner. Per students production consumes hell of money which were spent on procurements of costumes and props some of which were hard and difficult to come by. In trying to get all this materials for production,some of these students embark on amphibious journey thereby endangering their lifes to the hazards of the roads. Besides,the course is not you-pay-money-automatic-pass-guarantee course like other discipline. A student might pay huge money for practicals and still failed the course. This is because the course thrives on students committments and dedications. All night rehearsals and all day rehearsals are the order of the day. Theatre arts is a great course that government of the day should invest in so that our students would be well equipped to face and stand their counterparts from developed world. Great theatre arts students!

When God created ball. He gave it to Angel Michael to test the ball with his legs. He played the ball with countless skills thereby rejuvenating heaven. These skills he gave to Messi,thats why his skills rejuvenate the entire world. Having seen that the ball is good. He gave it back to God. God said to ball 'i give you power to make people happy and sad. Create any team and make any player that worship you great'. God threw the ball to the earth. The ball first landed in England,it produced Arsenal, chelsea and man u. Having created these teams,the ball bounce out to Germany. Thats why English teams play mediocre footballs and unable to lift champions league cup for many a time. In Germany,ball produced some clubs and later bounce out of Germany. Thats why German teams were unable to win champions league cups for many a time. Ball bounce to Brazil,here ball didn't produce football club. It only produced players. Thats why Brazil featured and won in many world cups than other countries. Ball bounce out of Brazil to land in Argentina and Portugal,it again produced players. Thats why world best and it runner up are from that two countries. At the end, the ball bounce and finally land and rest in Spain. It produced great football clubs of the world that won and will win many cups till the end of time.

We came to this world bringing joy to people around us. I could imagine the happy faces that hovered above us when we were born. We grew up with these many faces,and have reasonable imparts that engraven us in the sands of time. We like people and we like ourselves, We wish we could keep on leaving but we just can't.
