Samgreguc: u mean deceptive? We are talking about teaching hospitals, you are talking about some mushroom hospitals. Even though, the system varies also in the US, international teaching hospitals of repute in the US have Doctors as their CMD. Let me give you two examples. 1. For Johns Hopkins- Dr. Paul B. Rothman, 2. For BIDMC(a teaching hospital of harvard medical school)- Dr Kevin Tabb M.D. I think I should behave like the OP because this argument is taking too much of my time. I'm sorry, but for the sake of time I will not be able to reply comments again. Let's just wait and see where this issue will end, as even our argument is not getting to the decision makers. Let's leave everything to Dr. Kayode Obembe and Mr Olumide Akintayo, I believe they would have done their research well in other to succinctly present their case before the FG. But above all try to read what the OP wrote WITHOUT BIAS, and digest it. TIME IS LIFE, I DON'T WANT TO WASTE MINE ON ARGUMENT. |
Samgreguc: who is lieing?Pls take time to read what the OP wrote gently, though it is a long post and try to absorb what he is saying. He was contrasting the type of system they have in UK with the one they have in US. And he was trying to say that the Government should implement anyone they want out of the two, because the two system obviously favour the Doctors. Don't get it muddled up. The two system favours the Doctor because in the case where the CEO is a neutral person, the next position after the CEO is given to a Medical Doctor and in the case where the highest position is given to a medical personnel, that medical personnel is a Doctor. Even in W.H.O, the head is a medical Doctor. No where in the world is a paramedic place above a Doctor except in the US military where the health worker with the highest military rank is considered instead of considering their profession. Hope you now understand. |

Samgreguc: And this OP can lieDid you read what the OP wrote before you comment? I bet you didn't, you just posted a premeditated comment which you have decided will be your reply to any thread supporting the Doctors. The OP didn't say that there are no CEOs in NHS Hospital. He said after the CEO, the next in rank to him/her is a medical Doctor and not a pharmacist, nurse or lab technicians as you people want it to be in Nigeria. So, the NHS also recognize the headship of a Doctor over all other health workers, that is why they usually give the next position after the CEOs to medical Doctors. Read before commenting and labelling somebody else a liar. Peace. |
bumfem: The MDCAN now wants to dance naked. That is good for them. I appreciate the gentlemen that have posted on this issue. Nigeria medical consultants have demonstrate once again that they are educated illiterate. Any dummy should know that the word ''consultant'' mean a specialist in a given field but nigeria physicians in their own myopic way have given it a diff meaning. It is on record that all major health professionals were appointed consultants based on attainment of certain degree of professional skill and conpetence by their professional bodies and health institution where they work. This is the way it is in UK, USA ,Canada,Aussie etc. But prof. Chukwu, their health minister woke one day and announce the withdraw of this right unilateral dancing to the tune of NMA. Trust me, these health professionals approach industrial court thru JOHESU and won the case back to back. They took 5issues to the court and victorious in all ,why because all NMA has ever done in this nation are without any concrete evidence. They have continue to live in the past until done on them that the world has move on.I think MDCAN should not have dragged this issue further since the last judgement delivered by the industrial court says THAT THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH SHOULD STOP MAKING NON-DOCTORS CONSULTANTS BUT THAT THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN MADE CONSULTANTS ALREADY SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE CONSULTANTS AND ENJOY ALL ASSOCIATED BENEFITS, so they should not have dragged this issue further. When those ones retire, there will no longer be non-Doctor consultants in teaching hospitals. Patience is all that is needed. |
Thank you ma for your reply. I really appreciate it. |
Thanks sir |

www.punchng.com/opinion/why-would-anyone- want-to-become-a-doctor/ Hmmm... Thought provoking |
D_BestDoc: I've always been very passionate about studying medicine.couldnt think of some other career to venture into.Just had the inner conviction that i would be better at medicine than anything else.spent eight years after high school trying to get a place in a medical school.got it finally and have no regret whatsoever.it is not easy though, most times, you put in too much but get too little in return. But i will still go for it if asked to choose all overD best doc, please you have a PM. |
#me@:@#me, you are too insultive. If you are like this while still a student, what will you do when you start practising like Joshuapharm? No offence. |
Hmmm |
@Team EddyIfy, please where is that guy that was talking trash about Ify not been the last woman standing and about Dennis been the Ultimate man? Show face now and apologise. I think Eddy will be the ultimate man. Kunle's middle name should be luck, he came last thrice but fortunately for him, those days were not eviction days. And lastly, am I the only one who thinks Chidi likes Ify. Not that he is favouring her, but he is always VERY excited whenever Ify achieves anything more than when others do. I don't blame him. Ify is a very likeable person. |
I like today's challenge. It teaches an invaluable life lesson, often in life, we are tempted to sacrifice accuracy for speed, especially when people around us seem to be moving faster than us but when we stick to our guns, and do things the right way,(in mokeme's voice- there are rewards). The future does not belong to he who does it fast, but he who does it right. I am gunning for Edmond of Sword tribe and Ifunaya of Spear tribe. |
Sincerely speaking, with the rate at which gay related posts are making the front page, I think Seun Osewa himself is gay. |
