TWoods: I'd say they are basically cheating the system and why no one relies on anything we say. We lie at visa interviews that we can afford huge tuition bills, we back it up with fake or borrowed bank accounts... then run to the states and promptly change schools.
You're studying in a CC, not because it fits into your career goal, but because its cheap. Plain and simple. @bold I do say that's one of the reasons but not the top reason. I study in a community College in California and one of the top reasons why people study here is because it gives them a sure link to transfer to a Top School in California Such as UCLA, Berkley, e.t.c. This Top universities have an agreement with community colleges in California to accept their Students who have good grades and have engaged in some form of extra curricular activities such as joining the student body, volunteering/Community Service, sports e.t.c and the transfer rate from past years is good. So if your career goal is studying in a Top California University, a California community college is one of the sure paths there, it isn't always about the cost. |

PDPGuy: That is the ladies Spring/summer attire. When I first came here, those bum shorts tripped me, especially those with fat thighs. But now, it doesn't really move me. Come to Southern California and your eyes may pop out when you see what many ladies wear in public during the Summer. On campus, many girls even wear bum shorts that barely cover the ass crack I just moved into California and I can totally relate. What I see here is mind boggling.. All the girls wear bumshots, u even see their butt cheeks. It doesn't move me.. It's just new to see girls wear such to public places such as school.. |

AfonjaBoston: Nigerians and "I must have car" mentality
They just wan begin enter street sharpaly.
No be so . cool head down. Plan yourself and hop into those smelly public buses. Enjoy the pain of real hustle save and have enough liquid cash I repeat liquid cash growing moustache in the bank while reading like say tomorrow no dey
You can start thinking of car or motor after at least a semester Just to be clear.. I said NEED not MUST . Where i stay you need a Car.. You cant rely on the Buses cos they pass every 15 Minutes and where you are going might be far from the bustop . If there were buses i for nor complain. In Nigeria i never had a car and didn't even complain, all my friends had cars, In fact i don't even know how to drive now. Here i Have to trek 25 Minutes before getting to school without bus. To go anywhere i have to use lyft or uber. If you see me trecking sef i am sure you would pity me and buy me a car cos am literally the only one trecking on the road. Oyibo sef they pity me.. |

Greetings From California... I have been trying to settle down, is been tasking but fun. I dont know anyone here but God Has Been Faithful. Have an apartment now ( although quite expensive) . Travelling from Nigeria was quite a journey i could write a book from the experience. POE was almost smooth. I had no Food items and really nothing to declare. Was still subjected to secondary screening (if that is what the yellow box means) nothing special, they just rechecked my bag to see if i really had no food items and i was told to Go. I used Frankfurt airlines from ABJ. The Attendants were nice but food i couldn't understand. I guess it was good cause people were eatig it, its probably just the village spirit in me that couldn't eat. I haven't even gotten a sim card yet, went in search of lyca mobile from the stores on their website, still couldnt find any. I have ordered online and hope its delivered soon.. If you are coming here, Just have it in mind you would need a Car... |

Levels731: Good evening everyone, please I intend to travel soon and I want to ask if I need any other documents @POE asides from my i-20, travel allowance, visa and flight ticket .
Please I would like to know if I need any other documents apart from the ones I listed above Since you are going for studies you might not have much trouble at POE except you have something to hide. Just ensure you declare everything such as food, currency e.t.c on the customs declaration form . Your i20 & Passport are the required documents. Additional documents such as Sponsor's Bank statements, School fees receipts, SEVIS Receipts, connecting flight ticket may be required on rare occasions or if picked for secondary screening. I hear recently Phones are checked. You may want to clear any incriminating chats/messages to avoid stories that touch. Have your DSO's phone number and also inform him/her of your travel schedule prior to arrival. |

Coloniel5000: I wonder why people go to visa interview and kept celebrating it no documents Is asked, is it that they go with fake documents or no documents at all?
Secondly, my elder sister is sponsoring me but she don't have enough cash flow if am to use her SOA, so am planning on using my uncle's SOA and also stating him as my sponsor, please hope this won't be a RED FLAG as I don't want to go there with forged SOA as some do I guess. Also scared of VOs doubting the possibility of your uncle spending such huge amount on you an do deny people because of that.
Na my Questions be that oooooo.............SPRING 2018...........LOaDING............... I don't what it is you mean but.. Basically when people celebrate "No Document Asked" it means the interview wasn't as tasking as expected. Most times very short. Go to the embassy with every document you think would be necessary to prove you as a genuine Student. People go with Huge files . Anything that can prove your point, please go with it. Also Anyone can sponsor you, Just be ready to Convince the VO why such a person is sponsoring you. DON'T GO WITH A FORGED SOA ... DON'T GO WITH A FORGED SOA ... DON'T GO WITH A FORGED SOA ... DON'T GO WITH A FORGED SOA ... |

Ibukunoluwa01: Hello Good evening I earlier sent a message but got no reply. I would like to transfer to a US varsity come January 2018 cause by then I should have completed 46 credits which qualifies me for a transfer.
So I wanna ask, 1. is there any university that you would advise 2. Is it possible to get a full tuition scholarship as a spring transfer
Couse- computer science Your question is vague and lacks reliable information to get helpful responses . 1. Where are you now ? Nigeria or USA 2. What school are you currently . If it's in the USA ? Is it a community college ? Generally if your school is in the US, they should have a transfer centre that can guide you properly on this matter, they would give you institutions that fits your profile or institutions that have transfer agreements with them. If you are in Nigeria emm I leave that for my oga at the top to answer.. |

iekene: Follow UP
..So the above discovery was made yesterday at GT Bank Ajah and also GT Bank, the one close to Balogun Market (**I dont know thw bramch name exactly, I am not conversant with Lagos, I find my way using Google Map and asking questions.)..They both gave the same response. I actually checked twice to be sure this was the case.
..Today after collecting my passport at DHL, Victoria Island, I decided to test my findings. I located one big GT Bank. Close to Law School. The place is well arranged and beautiful. So I went to the customer care lady she directed me to the cashier incharge. I was asked for the same thing.
- Flight Ticket - Passport Data Page - Passport Visa page
On submitting them she asked where's my return ticket, I was like what ?!!!! . Told her am going for studies, with a stern look. She carefully perused my Visa Page and went to her colleague to ask questions. Later went for photocopy, asked me to write my account number and Phone number. and told me to return tomorrow to pick it up. Saying of there's anything they need I would be called.
Just make sure it's less than 14 days to your travel date and make them understand you are a student and don't need a return ticket.
Hope this helps someone FinalI am leaving laghos today but had to report to the bank as instructed yesterday . After spending about an hour in the very annoying Lagos hold up. I got to the bank at about 8:30. The girl who asked me to come yesterday seemed surprise and that made me surprised. .. She said you are here for PTA I said yes. She said she told me to come back in 10 days time ... I was like what. That's when I changed my accent and increased my voice ... started blowing grammar.. she told me to be here today and after the hold up am here . You are telling me 10 days time .. For what ? The guy beside her tried to pacify me. I wasn't given in to that. You can set an appointment and change it over night without informing the other party. They then told me I had to wait till 9:30 when the list would be out. I was like fine I would wait. Left angrily to get a seat while admiring how well I acted. Few minutes later the bank guy came up to me and said they won't be able to pay me now cause they have just 1 dollar notes . I knew this wasn't true but I was getting late to get a bus out of Lagos. I told him I have a dollar account he should make a transfer then. He obliged and they gave me a form A, a deposit slip and a blank paper to write a letter of authorization. After minutes running into an hour, he asked for my passport stamped it and wrote some things which I haven't checked. I was immediately debited of 1,440,000 NGN and credited $4000. Advice: Don't let those incompetent (most of them are) Nigerian bank staff ride on you. Know your rights and demand for it.. I left the bank 10am.. Have a great Day... |

Ndawe: Please what document(s) are required to pick up your passport/visa? I'm getting conflicting requirements even from US embassy customer care, Thanks You are to go with a Valid means of Identification. I myself didn't have any. I just went with all my documents. They fortunately did not ask for any means of Identification while at DHL office. My face on the passport was enough Identifcation guess. If you are taking on behalf of someone have the person fill the back of the white paper given after the Visa interview. While u go with a Valid means of Identification e.g Permanent Voters Card, NiN Card showing NIN number and date of Birth. |
