Not all registry is approved by the federal government. Learnt there are about 12 registries approved approved by the federal government nationwide.

So, it is safer one registers with the approved one to avoid stories that touch later.

Every state has a marriage registry, get married at the one closest to you. I got married at my local government marriage registry, the certificate is the same as the one issued by the federal government registries too. I used it for my immigration process, it was never contested or considered invalid, I am with my husband in the US today.

Please i need help, my gf is arriving soon, n we want to do the court wedding so she can file for spousal visa, but the issues I have now is
No 1..2018 I applied for tourist visa, n i stated I was married (I wasn't) so won't it affect me now, what should I do..

No. 2, how is the ikoyi registry process, cost and requirements..

Thanks

Did you have to state the name of your supposed spouse and date of marriage at the time? If yes then I'm not sure how to help cos I haven't been in that kind of situation, but if no then I suppose you can get away with it since you're getting married for real anyways. It can be explained that you did introduction or dowry ceremony at the time. You court marriage date will be used as your official date of marriage. I don't know about the Ikoyi process. I do not reside in Lagos and therefore I didn't get married there. Perhaps you can check online for more info on their own procedure

@ ifunanyamaka. Pls I need to know more on how ur process went from the day you start till ends. My woman is planing to visit Nigeria and we get married. I want to know the steps to take for her to come to Nigeria and get married to me and then start filing for my coming I need help on steps. She is a citizen of USA based in Ohio USA

It's a long process which I believe the basic steps have been discussed here severally. You can go to USCIS website for more detailed information.. basically you both get married, your wife then files a petition on your behalf, it gets sent to USCIS, when USCIS approves it, then it gets sent NVC, NVC will inform you on the documents you would need for an interview at the US consulate in Lagos, they will also collect those said documents from you and then schedule you for an interview with the consulate. You attend the consulate, if you are approved, you will be granted an Immigrants visa. Each of these stages have their own different waiting times but in total, the whole process can take between 9 months to 2years, depending on a whole lot of factors. But since your fiancée is a citizen, it won't pass 2 years if you guys follow the instructions explicitly and have your documents in order. I don't know about the ikoyi marriage process as I didn't get married there. I got married at my home town

Please guys... I would really appreciate a sincere answer to this question. Is it a necessity to do a court wedding at Ikoyi Registry for a SPOUSAL USA VISA APPLICATION?? Thank you

No it isn't. Get married at the marriage registry closest to your location or where you reside. I got married at Awka and my certificate was valid.

. How does she freeze the palmoil shocked
Very easy, pour into a zip lock, put into the freezer. Freezes up in no time. Then wrap with water proof and spellotape when you wanna travel. You can also freeze in a white jerrycan or Eva bottle, but mind you that would have more weight. If you have the space though then you can do that.

I hear you can carry palm oil if it's frozen. My aunty carries it frozen and well wrapped.

I didn’t get it. What is CCD?
It was written on my Visa. I think it simply means that your Immigration documents have been stored in Digital form on USCIS data base. Which means when you get to your POE, they will collect your passport and access your Immigration documents via their data base. I don't know the full meaning of CCD but from what I have read of people's experiences, that is what it connotes. Which would explain the lack of a Visa packet as was the norm before. They are obviously going digital now and moving away from the manual processing.

Really ??Police report in Abuja , I thought it can only be obtain in Alagbon. @ifunanyamaka are you talking about Force Headquarter (Luise Edet House )

It can be obtained anywhere in the country actually. My MIL got hers in Zamfara state cos that is where she resides. I got mine in Abuja cos I was there at the time when I needed it. Of course cost would differ based on your location. It was very easy to obtain. Went on a Monday, picked it up on a Wed of the same week. It must be, I don't know Abuja too well but I believe there is only one H/Q there. It's really huge and don't think there can be any other one.

Good day , I sincerely thank everyone on this thread ,especially those who started it and have been keeping it going. The free info we get here ,some people pay lawyers for it,please let us keep trying to share our experiences to help others.

My application :
Sent : April 22 ,2019
Noa1 : May 2
Noa2 : July 24
Still waiting on Nvc/ Case number . Called and not received yet

Question 1: can I get police report, npc birth certificate in abuja (has anyone done his/hers in abuja, cost range )

2: I know of the medical facility in Wuse Abuja (who has the recent amount for medicals there )

3: The supporting documents with affidavit of support (Letter from fiancée job showing employment and description of her job and salary, 2017/2018 tax returns , bank statement, ) enough?

Please notify if I'm missing anything . Thanks in advance .
Police report was probably the easiest thing to get in Abuja for me. Just go to their H/Q. The one is Central district or something. Tell them you wanna get a police clearance certificate. They'll direct you to the office. Pay 10k, fill out the necessary information, do a fingerprint scan. Certificate ready in 3 days. Go back and pick up. Go with your international passport, 2 passport photographs.

Wow Its nice to know that theirs take only 2 - 4 days unlike in QLife, Lagos that takes a minimum of 2 weeks. I must however say that they are expensive. It's unfortunate that they are the only ones in Abuja so Abuja residents have no other choice......The power of monopoly.
Actually I think it depends on the season. This is a rush period so I guess it's more expensive during this time. When I had mine done in May, I paid 80,900 excluding vaccines. Vaccination cost an extra 17k sha. Results were ready in 4 days. I quite liked their services, they were very polite, professional and cordial. It's strictly by appointment however it's still on a first come first serve basis. Meaning even though you have booked for an appointment, you still have to go early cos others have appointments too same day. To the poster asking if vaccines are a must, yes they are for US travelers. It will go on your medical report and a copy would also be given to you for POE. So yeah, you have to take them at the clinic as they are the only authorised hospital recognised by the embassy in Abuja.

Let’s break the silence here! Interview went well last week. This forum really helped; thanks to everyone.
Interview Questions :
Who filed for you?
Where is she?
Where is she working?
How about your dad?
Then she said I will go ahead and approve your visa. She said they will text me when the visa is ready for pick up. Does anyone know know how many days? And do I have to call DHL or embassy to check if it’s ready

Congratulations. No need. They'll send you an email or text message when it's ready for pick up. You can track your visa to know when it gets issues using the CEAC status check website. Link below

My gf is coming this year’s December we’re getting married and I’ll be starting the CR-1 visa I really wanna know what’s up with it and is it that long to process?? 1 year?? And I really hope to see peoples CR-1 interview transcripts thanks
There are transcripts of people who have gone through this process all over related threads as well as on Visa journey. I shared mine earlier on this thread. Process is less than 2 years if your spouse is a US citizen and more than 2 years if she is a permanent resident. Mind you, less than 2 years actually means within that time frame. my process from the filing of petition to when I got my Visa took about 9 months. Here is a link of shared transcripts under CR1 category.

Mystery still remains: how did u go from not knowing to knowing without anybody explaining to u? cheesy

Why does it matter how he knew? He figured it out obviously. Anyone who has been or going through the process would know or should be able to figure it out easily. undecided

I really appreciate this thread.
Here is a mystery:
U wrote:
“She is a us citizen and please what is N0A1 RFF NOA2.“
Then without anybody explaining to u, u said u now understood what those letters mean. How did u suddenly understand what they mean? Many of us were waiting for the meaning of those letters and we still don’t know what they mean
NOA = Notice of Action
RFE = Request for evidence
NOA1 = first notice you will receive telling you your submitted petition has been received and will begin the review process. The date you get this notice becomes your priority date.
NOA2 = 2nd notice you'll receive after your petition has been reviewed telling you whether it was approved or denied.

Hello Everyone,

How do I upload 3 years tax transcripts to ceac site? 3 separate docs for each year. When I uploaded the 2018 I couldn't upload the other years?
Am I supposed to merge them(all 3 of them) into one doc?

Please advice, Im helping out a mum who's petitoning her daughter. Mum is not compusavvy at all.

You upload only the most recent tax document. In your case 2018. No need to merge anything. You will write out the 3 years on your AOS form but you only upload the most recent one on the site. Hope that answers your questions

It's not possible. Police certificate requires digital and paper fingerprints biometrics to get processed. You have to come back and do it yourself ni.
