I am a newbie in programing . And i start with Java

Java was very problematic but when i learn the basic syntax by dedication(up to the level of loop structure) i left Java to learn Visual basic, i bet you VB.Net will make you become lazy, but it help me understand OOP and GUI in major. Later i left app development to web development where i learn html, css, javascript, and Php. by the time i learnt Javascript and php, i am now back to learning JAVA and it seems simple now. Constructors, methods, and the like becomes simple and now i am about to start learning Database. .
My advise for my JJC collegue is to start with Qbasic to have the ability to think like a computer and then take JAVA or C++, becarefull of VB.net it is enticing

I disagree with them learning Qbasic. the redundancy of those dead languages is crystal clear. there are easier languages to easily grasp the concepts of programming. but then again, it's your advise.
