Police in Kano State Nigeria recently rescued Ahmad Aliyu, a thirty two year old man locked up in a room by his father and stepmum for seven years in Farawa Babban Layi, Mariri Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.

Aliyu was made to go days without food and water and drank his urine. He was locked up by them because they suspected him of abusing hard drugs.

Aliyu was rescued after a neighbour informed the police.

When the police arrived, the stepmum insisted that Ahmad was not at home, and this forced the police to conduct a thorough search in the house.
