To make it clear for you....if in 2023 Peter Obi already won 31 States.....and States have already annouced results and Prof Mahmood refuse to annouce the winner claiming his life was on the line. Then Obi did an interview saying "Of course I am the winner of the 2023 election" and he was then jailed. His wife assassinated for fighting for her husband's mandate, many students who went out to protest shot dead or jailed for saying Obi won........then 25 years later somebody said let us honour Prof Mahmood for being a brave inec chairman in 2023....because eventhough they did not want him to conduct the election he did...if you are honest you will say what nonsense...he was a coward

What did he do? He refused to annouce the result. That was his main job.

Prof was meant to announce the result but didn't. That singular act led to the death of many Nigerians, MKO Abiola died for making the claim Nwosu was meant to annouce...many other Nigerians would later die or exiled for bravely telling the military MKO Abiola won the election

I don't understand this country, always trivializing important things. Is this Nigeria's problem now? Prof. Humphrey Nwosu that was scared of declaring 1993 presidential elections' results is now being projected to be immortalized. Why? If Prof. had declared the results i am sure the IBB and his destroying agents would not have had any choice than to obey the people's voice. I voted in that elections and was very very peaceful.

When it mattered he was silent....when Abacha put Abiola in jail for claiming victory he was silent...when NADECO was fierce in maintain that Abiola won, Nwosu was silent...when Nigerians students were on the streets to demand that the winner of the elction be announced Nwosu was silent....even when AD/ACN states started agitating for the recognition of Abiola...silence......PDP governments did not dare recognise it for fear or loyalty to IBB...It took Buhari for all his shortcomings to admit the truth and recognise MKO as the true winner of that election

Election was peaceful and fair not because of Nwosu but it was the soldiers at the pooling units organising the votes...they had no stakes.....but if anyone wants Nwosu to be recognised for conducting a free and fair election in Nigeria. I will support that 100%

Calling Nwosu a brave man in the bill is rewriting history. The adjectives used to describe Nwosu in the bill were made up and misleading.

There were court orders in 1993 pro election and anti election. Arthur Nzeribe was famous for claiming on television that he got a court order to stop the announcement of the election results. However several states have already annouced their election results which clearly shows that MKO Abiola (SDP)has won the election

The National Electoral Commission (NEC) chairman, Prof Nwosu, never formally announced a winner or declared anyone winner of the election....in the drama of pro and anti court orders IBB went on TV to annul the election.

Annulment is not cancellation of election. Annulment means there was no election.

Nigerians started protest because there was no way Tofa (NRC) can win.

Abiola's death in prison in 1998 was what gave birth to the democracy we now have in Nigeria. Infact in 1999 major political parties agreed that the only fair thing is for a Yoruba man to become the democratic president since MKO actually won the election. That is Why the contest was between Obasanjo (PDP) and Olu Falae (AD)
