According to The Hollywood Reporter, best-selling author Dan Brown will be handling the rewrite chores on adapting his third novel featuring symbologist Dr. Robert Langdon, The Lost Symbol, to the screen for Columbia Pictures.

The story involves Langdon traveling to the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., where he gets involved with a mystery involving the Freemasons and their search for an ancient pyramid containing vast knowledge. When the book was published in 2009, it sold a million copies in its first day.

The previous two movies starred Tom Hanks as Langdon and were directed by Ron Howard, who might be too busy adapting Stephen King's The Dark Tower for its summer 2013 release to direct a third movie. Hanks also hasn't committed to starring in a third movie just yet. Regardless, Columbia hired Eastern Promises scribe Steven Knight to take a first crack at adapting Brown's novel before Brown decided to tackle it himself.

Vin Diesel has offered some slight hints at what fans can expect from the upcoming Riddick, courtesy of his Facebook fan page.

"[M]y partner on [The Chronicles of Riddick] since the beginning, [David Twohy],  has a new challenge in store," writes Diesel, "He wants me to have 3 different body looks for this next chapter,  There is the DiNorscio type, the Dom type, and the lean Furyan type,  but all in the same movie, haha,  When it comes to art, we all like a challenge."

In addition to the "Furyan type" of the previous Twohy films (Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick), Diesel makes reference to his body type in Find Me Guilty and in the Fast and the Furious films.

In addition to the comment, Diesel posted the below artwork which seems to rework a promotional painting from the videogame "The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena" into a teaser for the upcoming film.

Tom Hardy (upcoming The Dark Knight Rises, Inception) was spotted on the Istanbul set of director Tomas Alfredson's Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

The film is an adaptation of John Le Carre's seminal cold war best-seller. Set in the aftermath of the cold war, the thriller tells the tale of a spy-hunt within the highest echelons of the British Secret Intelligence Service. Gary Oldman, Ciaran Hinds, Jared Harris, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Strong and Svetlana Khodchenko co-star.
