Stinson007: Okechukwu Nnodim, Abuja
The Federal Government on Tuesday charged property developers to reduce their rents and the value of properties in consideration of the economic hardship across the country.
According to the government, the values of properties and rents in other nations of the world are falling as a result of the global economic slowdown being experienced.
Speaking at the inauguration of board members of the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria in Abuja, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, said many houses in Nigeria were empty while a lot of people lacked accommodation.
He said, “For me, I think the most important message I’ll like to share at this inauguration is to pose the question on whether the current land valuation system and values are consistent with the reality of our economy. You as experts must answer that question because we have a very challenging economy.
http://punchng.com/reduce-your-rents-fg-tells-landlords/ FG reduce prices of things in market including fuel to 50naira. Make constant electricity and good roads and you don't need to urge landlords to reduce rent price. |

you cannot say igbos are crying for freedom because of Hausa/ Yoruba outwitting them.biafra struggle has been on for a long time. during GEJ'S tenure igbos were the pillar of that government and Yoruba were in a kind of political wilderness.yet the struggle was on.

Alcatraz005: First of all, I am Christian too and I probably detest the Hausa more than you do but I as a Yoruba man has chosen to deal with them through tact. The issue of sharia appearing in the constitution to the exclusion of Christianity is a valid concern which christians have noted and are taking constructive steps to confront. Nobody is faulting the agitation of the Igbo's but the methodology is what is faulty. The igbo are the least prepared to secede from Nigeria due to the parlous state of the region. The Igbos never invest at home but can the found even where you won't see the dead body of a Yoruba man.
As for the issue of a Christian or igbo being judged by sharia, to the best of my little knowledge in Islamic jurisprudence, only a Muslim can be judged according to the tenets of sharia law. A Christian can only be judge under sharia if he submits to the jurisdiction of the court. I have never seen where a Christian has been judged according to sharia at least in Nigeria. The agitation needs to be properly planned for years and diplomacy actively deployed to ensure that all avenues are exhausted before a resort to armed struggle.
The Yorubas are aware of the antics of the Hausa and we know how to play their game. I can assure you that the moment the Hausa or even our Muslim brothers in yorubaland try to force the sharia down the throat of our Christian populace, that is the end of one Nigeria as we are intellectually, diplomatically and geo politically equipped to engage the international community to peacefully Balkanize the country. Self determination for any group would not be achieved by hurling of insults to our would be allies or needless grandstanding as is being done by the Ipob. If the Christian population of Nigeria are to be free from the stranglehold of the the Muslim north, we have to prepare economically, military and diplomatically to ensure that the country is peacefully Balkanized and not make an enemy of the north. There is a saying that says '' we disagree to agree in other to achieve a purpose'' the truth still remain there will never be an agreement between an hausa man and Igbo man. |

isnovic: If any of the news of the degradation of the BH torroist by Nigerian Armies and Buhari's media was any correct, then this piece of news here is totally uncalled for.
The negotiated terms showed that BH had the upper hands and the FG was on the back foot. 1.BH had to select which prisoners to release 2. What number to release and which to release.
This gets me worried as we have just bolden the terrorist and we should expect more recklessness on the part of this government buying electoral campaign promises. You right my brother. The problem I have with this government is that they fighting a fight without any opponent. They have a mindset that they have to prove something by any means necessary.... |

mmsen: Why does the article lack merit?
Every nation attempts dialogue with terrorists. Especially when they take hostages. It's usually the safest means of return.
You, like most, are very naive when it comes to this matter and this is what happens when people repeat dogmatic slogans such as "we don't negotiate with hostage takes/terrorists". Only a child would believe such. Nobody is naive here only that you failed to understand that you arguing without concrete facts. Those articles u bringing was written based on what someone thinks. I repeat, no nation negotiate with terrorists to release civilians that isn't diplomat. If u like continue arguing am done with you. |

Am not talking of negotiation on a personal or individual basis but as a government? Thank you brother ask him. He keep bringing article written based on people assumptions |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Paid €2million Ransom For 82 Chibok Girls' Release - BBC Source by Ikem11(m): 10:28am On May 20, 2017 |
mmsen: All nations negotiate with terrorists. They say otherwise because they know that immature, naive sheep will believe the lie that they never negotiate with terrorists. The Americans did so with the Iranian terrorists under Reagan and have done so consistently since. The French have been known to negotiate with terrorists. Likewise the British.
We Should Negotiate With Terrorists. We Always Have. Who started “We don’t negotiate with terrorists”? The president who did just that more than any other. Let’s stop this reactionary nonsense.
Every president since has said we don’t negotiate with terrorists. And every president has. And I would say prudently and reasonably so. When terrorists can give you information, for a certain price or because you have a shared enemy, take it. George W. Bush paid a ransom of $300,000 to a radical Islamist group in the Philippines that was holding two American missionaries, a married couple, captive. To get them to safety? I say, fine. Alas, however, the man was killed, even after we paid the money. So an American president ended up financing terrorist operations and overseeing a failed military mission.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/06/06/we-should-negotiate-with-terrorists-we-always-have Mind when you reading imagination and assumptions articles. That article lacks merit my brother. First, if possible there was chibok girls, no Country negotiate to release non diplomate civilians.. Paying that huge amount of money to release those girls is funding cashless terrorists to equip to kidnap more. What bad is bad. Never should we negotiate with terrorists! |
