Good afternoon Docs and Docs to be.

I need a little help.
Sometimes I feel pain in my neck whenever i wake up from sleep or after reading for long hours. Recently whenever I experience this I'll pour cold water on my neck. It works like magic. The pain will subside immediately.

Pls is there any side effect to it (the use of cold water on the neck). If yes what other way can be used to stop the pain.

Thanks!

Happy Sunday all.
The position with which you sleep is a considerable cause of your neck pain and ( probably your reading style too may contribute to it). Normally, when you rotate or massage your neck, you perceive knuckling sounds, which may lessen your pain...
But to be frank, i'll advice a Healthier sleeping style and a better reading posture, The water magic!, Its up to you...

God bless.

Thanks boss! But I just keep wondering how a general hospital in my state suddenly became a medical centre and their services remains the same.
Then there might have been some change in ownership,
probably owned by a Governmental agency, since they operate on the same level
RomanceValentine; A Poem by IkembaCMD(op): 4:22pm On Feb 14, 2015
HAPPY VALENTINE DAY

The moment you kissed me
I became your lips,
The moment you hugged me
I became your heart.

The moment you told me
I am loved I became
A mouthful of spring in your words.
A well of romance,

I became
A purple depth in you,
The days had their feet
To carry us swifter than ever
To the land of stars and moon.

We were so bright
The lamps could ever know,
The dreams were so transparent
The diamonds could ever become

In those nights of indomitable love.
But the roads broke into zigzags
Our heart beat like the tail of a fish
Fluttering, twisting, forcing
And pressing towards water.

In sad evenings
We felt like turtles lost in sand,
We were broken like stems
A grey destiny waited for us
To lie alone in our rooms.

We lost our paths
Like travelers in deserts for oasis
Alas! I could not become like you
In art and wisdom of love.

good evening my 'ogas' in the house. Pls what is the difference between general hospitals, central hospitals and medical centers?

Happy Val!
General Hospitals are State-owned...
Central Hospitals are Local Government owned usually or Community-owned...
Medical Centres are often owned by Governmental agencies, Private bodies or Individuals...

Happy Val.

God bless u for that.consistency is d key word.actually am a medical student(100 level) in usman danfodiyo.d way danfidiyo treat thier medical student is too harsh, they start withdrawing nd repeating them right from ug1.mhen is nt easy.lastly pls can u tell me more abt area of specialization?
If you would specialize, you must scale through Medical school first as an MBBS Holder(which you are just starting, i presume) and then you go for
your Housemanship, then NYSC, then which you'll enter Residency and work your way up till you are fully established, then specialization becomes the order of the day... For now, Face your studies... squarely!

pls...hw are medical students graded?.....I heard they is nothing like cgpa. and nothing like first class, second class.and so on
In 100level, you offer basic sciences i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology in a little bit advanced form, Then your Semester scores are calculated and graded on a CGPA (5.0 usually), Then if you've met the crossing CGPA, You ascend into 200Level, which connotes the Preclinical classes where you study Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology... A pass mark of 50 is required in precisely all courses to promote to the next class, You may score above though, but its only a sooth to yourself, all Medical school requires is your Application mentality and consistency....
Lastly, MBBS, is an Unclassified degree, there is no first class or second or third... The Medical board may only include the courses you had Distinction in - if you do so....
God bless...

That red basking fluid
That sticky shiny liquid
Flowing through the veins
Smoothing the arteries...

In it lies the spice of Life
Its redness preaches its value,
Its brightness professes its strength
The delicacy of its nature astounds the greatest of Mankind's physician

Blood! That warm matrix,
That assembled solution traveling back and forth the Human body
The Heart pumping it ceaselessly
The skin covering up its mission...

I gazed at the sight of blood donation
I recall the big bag collecting the donor's precious fluid
All for the preservation of Life;
Lives of fellowmen whose body craves the Continuity of their existence
Lives of people whom The Physician has stated to "You need blood transfusion!"

Then I looked up to the White skies
I thought in depth about my well being and fervency; and
I thanked The Giver of Life and blessed The Holy of Holies
I adored God for this magnificent gift - My Blood!.

LiteratureA Poem: My Mother by IkembaCMD(op): 8:12pm On Jan 15, 2015
She sat me straight and then set me free...
Her bosom brought me to life,
Her breasts nursed my infancy...
Her womb conveyed my foetal body...
She is my Mother, She is my Saviour...
When i was down in shrieks and weeping,
She runs to my aid and saves my day...
When i started crawling and drawling,
Her eyes saw to my development...
When my Feet got established and my legs started walking...
Her softness caressed my heels and her liveliness kept me going...
When my school age began,
Her lovely strictness directed my feebleness...
In my boyhood transition to Manhood,
she was not found wanting!.
Oh Mama, Oh Daman...
You are a Rain in drought, A Light in darkness,A Sunshine in a gloomy day.
You are my Mentor,My Motivator,
My Friend, My Fortress of Confidence...
May your days be as long as the depths of the Oceans,
Your life full of love like the radiance of The Yellow Sun...
As long as i have breath in my Lungs,
I will do unto you as thou art done unto me Come what may......

Too many cooks spoil the Broth,

There is only one rule,...
"Do all things in moderation"
The body needs Glucose in a pretty big amount,
The body is equipped with metabolising machineries that wouldn't disappoint under normal conditions...
When the standard amount is taken in, illness or diseases won't be the next choice of action!.

FamilyHumiliation, A Poor Way Of Rebuking Children/wards/juniors by IkembaCMD(op):
One thing pains me about Some Nigerian parents,Elders and Those who in one way
or the other are in a position of Authority...
Its the way they rebuke their children and their juniors!.

We tend to see our scolding work when we HUMILIATE our children, wards or
juniors... i.e Making jest or ridicule of a child in the midst of his friends.

Humiliation is a poor teacher when it comes to Moral guidance and
discipline...

Humiliation lets down its victim and not all victims are always lucky to get
out of it,

Most of this children, wards or juniors become reclusive, malicious and revengeful... e.g Most children develop an inferiority complex and perhaps find their parental environment not worth confiding in.

The best way of exerting rebuke is by close marking, by looking deep into
the child/ward/junior and making his wrongs known to him/her...

What the mind creates, it also destroys when caressed in moderation...
Please everyone, lets be wise in our scoldings for "Humiliation is a poor teacher of
etiquette and manners both to the young and the Old"....

EducationAdvice To All Jamb/utme Aspirants 2015/16 And Beyond by IkembaCMD(op):
To all Jambites, I greet you all...

I have some piece of advice which you may find useful concerning your registration and examination...

1. If you are a fresh school leaver, Be wise in your choice of institution,
Have good mentors.... Don't choose a course or an institution because you are being compelled to, Experience has shown such decisions produce regrets....

2.If you've registered, Make your books your best friend, There is no shortcut to Success... Expo's, Impersonation and Malpractices corrupts your Morale and it kills your Spirit of Diligence and Confidence.

3. When Examination comes, Have a Positive mentality, Believe you can do it,
Believe your wits are strong enough to ride the tides.... Nothing is impossible for a focused mind...

4. With God, All mountains are surmountable and all mysteries are solvable...
Make your plans set before God, He'll never let you down

5. The world is for the outspoken, Teamwork aids alot, make good use of your friends, Let your thoughts out and discuss your shortcomings, All is gonna be well...
