A young Brazilian man who wasn’t happy with his wife getting pregnant for the third time has confessed to brutally killing her while they were in the middle of having sex.

21-year-old Marcelo Araújo told police in São Paulo after six weeks of interrogation that he killed his make-up artist wife, Francine dos Santos, 22, after they argued about her becoming pregnant for the third time.

He reportedly admitted that he didn’t want any more children because he hated sharing his wife with them, and wasn’t happy with the financial burden it placed on him as a young dad.

The couple already had two children, a daughter, four, and a son, two.

Explaining how the fight started between himself and his wife, Mr. Araújo claimed that on December 22 last year, the couple started off discussing plans for their family Christmas dinner but things went out of control as they got involved in a heated argument about the pregnancy.

Shortly after the heated argument, they appeared to squash their differences and went straight to their bedroom to make love.

During the intimate session, the suspect stabbed his wife with a knife several times before slashing her throat with a blade.

After committing the crime, the father of two tried to take his own life.

A 25-year-old woman in Pakistan has cut off the penis of an alleged rapist who attempted to molest her.

The police confirmed on Tuesday that the woman in her 20’s used a knife to defend herself after a man stormed her house in the central province of Punjab and tried to rape her.

Police official Mohamed Ilyas said, ”She narrated to us that she was alone at home when the man broke in and tried to rape her.

”She ran to the kitchen during the struggle , grabbed a knife and then cut off his penis when he again tried to assault her.”

He added that the 28-year-old man is presently being treated at the hospital in the city of Faisalabad Ilyas added that the suspect will be interrogated once he becomes better.

According to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, hundreds of women are raped in Pakistan each year, but those who commit the assaults are not punished due to weak laws and complicated procedures for prosecution,

A 28-year-old an who made a false claim that he had coronavirus, causing a Toronto-to-Jamaica WestJet flight to return to the airport, has explained why he did it.

The man named, James Potok, who has been arrested and charged with mischief and breach of recognizance, told Global News that he did it because he was looking to “get a viral video” to boost his profile as an artist, but admits the stunt was in “poor taste.”

“Well, I had my camera with me. I was looking to get a viral video. I was looking to get it up on all the social media platforms,” James Potok told Global News on Tuesday.

“It seemed to me like this was in poor taste, in retrospect. What I did, I stood up, I said, ‘Can I have everybody’s attention? I just came back from Hunan Province — and that was it.”

“I figured it would invoke some type of reaction, not on the plane. More people seeing on social media, going, ‘Wow, this kid’s got some balls,’ or, ‘This kid is crazy.’”

According to Peel Regional Police, Potok will appear in court on March 9.

In a statement, WestJet said Flight 2702, with 243 passengers on board, was on its way to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay on Monday when the flight was disrupted by an “unruly guest.”

The airline said the plane returned to Toronto, and “out of an abundance of caution,” the flight crew followed all protocols for infectious disease on board.

The airline also disclosed that Flights 2702 and 2703 were cancelled as a result of the incident.

Another passenger, Tiffany Richards, who was on the flight at the time of the incident said she was asleep when a man got up and made an announcement.

“What he basically said (is), ‘I need everyone’s attention. I have just returned from Wuhan, one of the capital cities of China, and it’s an epicentre for the coronavirus,” she recalled.

“I’m feeling really, really sick right now. I think I might be infected. I need everyone to stay away from me, like please don’t come near me.

“He repeated himself a couple of times, and that was that. And he sat down.”

A doctor who chillingly predicted the coronavirus infection days before the epidemic hit was arrested in a night time raid on his home.

Doctor Li Wenliang, who worked at a hospital in Wuhan, sent a message to a group chat of medical students saying “Quarantined in the emergency department” at the point when just seven patients were confirmed as infected.

One member of the group chat replied saying “So frightening” before asking if it could become as serious as the SARS epidemic that began in China and killed 800 people.

Three days later, Dr Wenliang was arrested in the middle of the night after police turned up at his home.

He was allegedly then made to sign a statement saying his actions were classed as “illegal behaviour”, reports The New York Times.

THE NAVEL

This is usually common with people that have their navel inwards rather than the ones that protrude.

If you notice, when you are having a shower or you are in the bath, you wash your body with soap and water, and you wash down to the stomach leaving the navel that’s inside a hole.

A woman who fatally assaulted her three -year-old granddaughter using a switch after she messed her clothes heaved a sigh of relief after she was ordered to perform community service.

The 54 aged Esther Moyo of Coolmoreen Farm, who committed the offence in 2015, yesterday appeared before Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Martin Makonese who is on circuit in Gweru.

She pleaded not guilty to murder, but admitted to a lesser charge of culpable homicide.

The State concurred with the plea and Justice Makonese sentenced her to an effective 420 hours of community service.

In passing judgement, Justice Makonese said he had taken into consideration delays in dealing with the case as the woman committed the offence nearly five years ago.

“The child died due to subdural haematoma, skull fracture and severe head trauma due to beating. Postmortem shows that you used extreme force.

“This attack was senseless as it was brutal and the young person suffered a painful death. The courts will not tolerate this kind of behaviour. Any life whether old or young is important and the courts should guard against such loss of life,” said Justice Makonese.

“Although the moral blameworthiness is high, the only fact which saves you is the delay in dealing with this case. A delay in any case is unacceptable and the court urges the prosecution office to review all pending cases so that they are dealt with in time. Had you been sent to jail at that time you might have completed serving. I agree with the defence that custodial sentence would not make justice after this delay.”

Prosecutor, Mr Mandla Ndlovu told the court that on March 18 in 2015 at about 6AM, the now deceased Rejoice Moyo and her brother were asleep when their grandmother woke them up so that they could relieve themselves.

Rejoice, the court heard, messed her clothes.

“This prompted her grandmother to take a switch that she used to assault her all over the body. The deceased cried in agony and continued to wail up to the time when her grandmother went to work,” said Mr Ndlovu.

He said moments after the grandmother had left for work Rejoice collapsed and died.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the woman’s arrest.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Nasiru Oki, who paraded the suspect, said that Choji had confessed to having carnal knowledge of his grand daughter ‘several times.’

The suspect claimed he was tempted to have sex with her because, she always slept with him on the same bed.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after he was paraded, Choji said that the girl started asking for more “after the first act.

“The girl has been on my neck because she derives satisfaction in sleeping with me and I had no choice but to satisfy her,” he said.

He blamed his incestuous act on the pressure from his grand daughter and appealed to his wife and children to forgive him.

He promised never to commit the crime again.

A young man from Shanghai, China, who was due to marry his girlfriend this year, suddenly realized he didn’t want to spend the rest of his life with her, so he devised a plan to make sure he didn’t have to.

The man, surnamed Chen, could have just told his partner that he had had a change of heart, but he couldn’t break himself to do that, so he came up with a strategy that he hoped would make the girl break up with him – he became a petty criminal and got himself arrested on purpose.

Social status and reputation are very important in Chinese society, so Chen thought to himself that his bride-to-be and her family would be so disappointed by the news that he had been arrested for theft that they would cancel the wedding arrangements on the spot, allowing him to walk away with a guilt-free conscience.

Earlier this week, Chen simply walked into a dance studio on Huashan Road, in Shanghai, and casually stole a Bluetooth speaker, knowing full well that the place was monitored by security cameras.

His goal, after all, was to be identified and charged with theft, only he didn’t expect police to show up on his doorstep as fast as they did. When questioned about his motives, the man didn’t shy away from telling the officers the truth.

“My girlfriend wants to marry me, but I don’t want to marry her. I knew I would be caught. I actually wanted to walk away, but I was angry,” Chen said. “I knew you would find me, though I didn’t think it would be so fast.”

The amateur thief added that he chose the Bluetooth speaker – which reportedly costs around $290 – because he wanted it to be valuable enough to get reported to the police, but not too expensive as not to cause the owner too much heartache.

According to Chinese media, Chen is still in police custody, but will likely not remain there for too long on account of such a minor offence. It’s unclear whether his plan worked and his girlfriend broke off with him.

In yet another case of Pastors abusing their calling, a 30-year-old pastor impregnated his wife’s 12-year-old sister.

The pastor who cannot be named to protect the minor’s identity then promised to marry the minor after she finished her Grade 7 examinations.

According to the source, the pastor allegedly took advantage of his relationship with the minor to proclaim his love for her. After the minor seemingly agreed, the man of the cloth waited for the minor’s mother to leave the country for business in South Africa.


After the mother-in-law travelled, the pastor then went to her home, where he asked the minor tao consummate the relationship. He then raped the minor without using protection.

The pastor’s shenanigans came to light when the minor fell pregnant, and some eagle-eyed members of the community promptly informed the police. The police visited the minor at school were during the interview, she spilt the beans on her brother-in-law.


The predator pastor was charged with raping and impregnating the minor. When he appeared before Mutare Magistrate Prisca Manhimbi, he was denied bail and remanded in custody for trial.

In a defining case, a Binga man will serve as an example to the rest of the local make population after he was sentenced to 16 years in prison for raping his own wife.

The rapist husband, whose name has been withdrawn to protect his wife’s identity, was found guilty of having forced himself on his pregnant wife twice.

Hwange regional magistrate Collet Ncube determined that the husband had threated to assault his wife with a log before forcing himself on her twice.

The magistrate threw the book at the husband and sentenced him to 16 years in prison for these egregious violations. Two years were suspended on condition of good behaviour.

During the trial, the husband mounted a spirited defence and accused his in-laws of fabricating the charges against him because they wanted him to separate from their daughter.

He argued that sex was consensual throughout. In his defence, he is quoted by the Sunday News as saying, “Your worship, the complainant is my wife with whom I have a child with and in all the alleged occasions the sex was consensual.

The rape allegations were fabricated by the complainant after being influenced by her parents who no longer want me as their son-in-law.”

However, the Magistrate would have none of this and said that the only fitting punishment, in this case, was a prison sentence. In his ruling, the Magistrate said, “Your conduct is reprehensible.

It does not make a difference. You repeatedly engaged in the sexual activity against her will.

“You were unconcerned that she was pregnant, you force-marched her to your place using threats of violence as you were armed with a switch and log. Your moral blameworthiness is high.

The fact that the complainant cried was an indication that she was traumatised. Imprisonment,in this case, is inescapable.”

According to the state, the victim had returned to her parents’ home after marital misunderstandings between the two.

However, when she was coming from the Siabuwa Clinic with her sister, the husband waylaid her near his home.

After she declined to return home with him, he picked up a log and a switch and threatened to beat her up unless she complied. He then force marched her to his home where he raped her twice.

The case has resulted in mixed emotions across the country with some groups applauding the court for upholding women’s rights, in particular, the right to consent to have sexual intercourse.

However, some other groups seem alarmed with the ruling and attacked the courts for the ruling.

They argued that a spouse cannot deny sex to their partner and even used biblical verses to support their argument. One such verse reads,

“Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power over his own body, but the wife.” 1Corinthians 7:3-4

However, this argument was shot down by others who argued that religious convictions are not universal and as such should not be used as a defence when there is a law which explicit.

Others also attacked the court’s ruling supposedly from a cultural perspective saying that women should not deny their husband sex because the men paid lobola for them.

Again, this view was vigorously attacked with some saying that lobola did not translate to ownership over women’s bodies.

The man is reported to have travelled to Veracruz, in east Mexico, to purchase the stimulant used for cattle.

Police at Jinja Central Police Station, Uganda, are investigating circumstances under which a television set which was gifted to them a few weeks ago was stolen.

The 40-inch plasma screen that was given to the law-enforcement agency by Startimes last month was on Monday, January 13, mysteriously plucked off the wall adjacent to the reception.

According to a report by the Daily Monitor, while police thought they had firmly kept the incident under wraps, a detective who declined to be named on Tuesday morning said the television was stolen.

“The TV was given to us last month by Startimes and it was fitted directly opposite the reception; unfortunately, it has been stolen and we don’t know who took it,” the officer said.

Kiira Region police Spokesperson, Diana Nandaula, confirmed the incident.

“It is true our television has been stolen and we have tasked the officers who were on duty to explain how that happened,” she said.

In a related case, a suspect who had been booked at Kaptaga Police Station, Elgeyo Marakwet stole an Occurrence Book at the station after an officer who was on duty rushed to his house.

According to a police reports, Julius Kiprono escaped under unclear circumstances even though he was chained and handcuffed in police cells.

“The suspect went away with a pair of handcuffs, a chain, a padlock and an Occurrence Book,” the report read in part.

The findings by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) within the US Department of Commerce show that ocean heat content contributing to sea-level rise is higher than ever, with the Earth's warming unabated.

With analysis from scientists at NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI), the report said that 2019 was the 43rd consecutive year with both ocean and land temperatures above average.

"It's very alarming, because we're seeing the trend for global temperatures continuing to increase," said Ahira Sanchez-Lugo, a scientist at NCEI's Center for Weather and Climate Prediction.

But Sanchez-Lugo also told Al Jazeera that the results - highlighting a severe climate crisis - were expected.

"As a climate scientist, this is not surprising," she said. "The climate is changing, has changed. And eventually the record will get broken again."

"We try to relay information to the public to help them understand," Sanchez-Lugo added. "Our goal is to provide the facts and the data. We're like global doctors, constantly recording the Earth's vitals."

'Critical' information

John Bateman, a spokesman for NOAA's Satellite and Information Service, said at a press briefing on Wednesday that the new report should "help government and business leaders with critical decision-making".

The mean temperature reading last year rose 1.15 degrees Celsius (2.07 degrees Fahrenheit) above the pre-industrial average.

NASA scientists conducted a separate analysis but came to the same conclusions, establishing that 2010-2019 was the hottest decade ever.

The World Meteorological Organization also labeled 2019 the second warmest for the planet, while scientists with the United Kingdom Meteorological Office said 2019 was one of the top three hottest years ever.

Meanwhile, sea ice continues to disappear at an alarming rate, with both the Arctic and Antarctic oceans recording their second-smallest coverage since 1979.

Sea surface temperatures averaged the second-highest on record, just behind 2016 and adding to the litany of evidence that the environment is struggling to maintain equilibrium.

Deke Arndt, chief of the NCEI's global monitoring branch, said, notwithstanding a major geophysical event, that he was "almost certain the [next] decade will be even warmer than the previous one".

'Human contribution'

Gavin Schmidt, director of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York City, said that warming occurred "pretty much everywhere on the globe".

Parts of Asia, Australia , Southern Africa , central Europe , Alaska, Mexico and eastern South America posted record-high land temperatures in 2019.

"The issue of attribution is slightly different from the issue of monitoring," said Schmidt. "What we look for are fingerprints of change. We throw them all into the mix, not just in the global mean, but also spatial patterns."

Schmidt said that "what would be statistically possible with just natural forces is not capable of explaining the change", describing the discrepancy as due to "the human contribution: changes in greenhouse gases and deforestation".

"All of the trends are effectively anthropogenic at this point," he said.

A Columbus woman who operated an unlicensed daycare is facing one hundred and twenty-seven charges of child endangerment after neighbors and concerned parents alerted authorities.

According to eye-witness testimony, Ivanka Kuklinski, 63, breastfed children under her care in public places while drinking alcohol and smoking what is believed to be crack cocaine and crystal meth.

Columbus police also uncovered hundreds of used syringes suspected of being used for heroin, as well as dozens of used condoms in a home that was also used to run an illegal brothel, police said.

“She forced my 8-year-old son to suck on her nipples and when he wouldn’t comply, she would burn him with a cigarette,” one parent told reporters.

“One day I came to pick up my 3-month-old child and she gave me a pound of marijuana in a bag instead, before excusing herself for confusing me with someone else,” another parent told reporters.

Neighbors also alerted 911 on several occasions that the 63-year-old woman was breastfeeding young children while drinking alcohol and walking around topless in her backyard.

“I once came in to leave my child for the day and there was literally a naked man who seemed to have passed out in the backyard, but I was in a hurry to get to work so I didn’t ask any questions,” another concerned parent explained.

Kuklinski was also arrested on suspicion of possession of suspected methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of heroin with intent to deliver, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and was cited on suspicion of child abuse.

Columbus police said the 63-year-old woman ran several different ads on Craigslist, where she offered daycare services as well as escort services and sold drugs online.

If convicted, Kuklinski faces a minimum sentence of three months and up to 1,067 years in jail according to legal experts.

Mutare pastor was arrested for allegedly having sexual intercourse with his underage sister-in-law.

The 30 year old Felix Mazengero is alleged to have had an affair with his wife’s 14-year-old sister (name withheld) which resulted in a pregnancy.

The matter came to light before Magistrate Prisca Manhimbi. Mazengero pleaded not guilty to the statutory rape charge.

The court heard that the accused, who is married to the minor’s sister, proposed love to the complainant who accepted the proposal. The two then started the alleged affair.

Sometime in June 2019, the Mazengero is alleged to have visited the minor at her residence in the evening. Taking advantage of the minor’s mother’s absence, Mazengero pounced on the minor and had unprotected consensual sex with her.

In the same month, the minor skipped her period and informed Mazengero who then promised to marry her after she finished writing her grade seven examinations.

However, teachers at the school noticed unusual changes on the minor and a police officer was tipped off that the minor was pregnant. Acting on the tip-off, Constable Kanhukamwe visited the school and quizzed the minor who then spilled the beans that she was pregnant with her brother in-law’s child.

According to the minor’s relatives who spoke on condition of anonymity, Mazengero was allegedly exploiting his influence to drag the matter so he can walk scot-free.

We are afraid that this issue is taking too long because the person has influence, we are hoping that justice will prevail because Mazengero should have known better since he is an adult.

It is even more sad considering he is a pastor yet he takes advantage of such a young person.

The accused will now face trial on January 24.

Five secondary school girls within the age range of 16 to 18 have reportedly raped a Biology teacher (name withheld) to coma in Ayetoro-Itele, a community in Ogun State, Nigeria.

News of the criminal act broke out last Thursday morning when the man’s neighbour called the local police after he found the man helpless and near-lifeless in his room, The Nation online reports.

According to the man’s neighbour, five school-age girls reportedly walked into the man’s room, a one-room apartment, where the teacher was recovering from an undisclosed ailment.

The students, who were in civilian to hide their school identity, did not waste time to get down to ‘business’.

The unsuspecting teacher, who was certain they were students as the had notes and textbooks on them, wrongly imagined they came to pay him a quick-recovery visit.

According to the report, in his feeble state and hasn’t been attending classes since resumption, however, he was easily overpowered as his co-tenants have all gone for their various trades, except the neighbour that called police.

Narrating the ordeal, the neighbour recounts to the police:

“I heard voices from inside his room, although faint, because our rooms are far apart.

“I thought he was merely having some conversation; I heard the moans too but who would think something like that would have happened.

“I found him naked few minutes after the girls left as I wanted to check on his health and so I called the attention of the nearest police. ”

The man was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and treatment has since commenced on him by doctors and nurses on duty.

Meanwhile, police said that investigation has begun in earnest to fish out those behind the evil act.

When contacted, the school principal maintained that none of his students could have done that but police investigators are working with the school management to get to the root of the matter.

The Prophet sells the portions for between US$5 and US$7 a bottle depending on size.

Zimbabwean businessman was caught red handed being intimate with his own biological mother claiming it boosts his business.

The 37 year old man Tadiwa Rushungo revealed that the unlawful relationship between the two started two years ago after the death of his father.

According to Rushungo, the two were having sex every month-end as directed by their traditional healer, to allow the family to boost it’s wealth.

No one suspected anything between the two until one fateful day as they were caught by a neghbor in the course of committing the shocking and disturbing act.

Upon dragged to authorities fr their nasty behaviour, Rushumbo, a father of four accepted of his so called relationship with his own mother before jumping into defending himself that the relationship with is mother was meant to boost their family’s business of which both were beneficiaries.

He even proved that ever since their illicit affair, they had managed to buy a new house in Gokwe centre and two commuter omnibuses.

When asked on her part the mother, only addresses as Mashamba said she agreed to sleep because she was instructed to do so by the traditional healer following the death of her husband who was the owner of the businesses.

She said the healer had told her that if she didn’t do so, the businesses would crumble.

A naked hooker bolted out through a kitchen window, clutching her panties and wig in her hands after she was caught having sex with a married man in a backyard restaurant in the Bulawayo city centre.

The drama filled incident which entertained onlookers for more than three hours occurred last week on Thursday at a building situated at corner Joshua Mqabuko Street and First Avenue.

A fuming Yewukai Maradze (30) shouted that she found her husband Brave Mudawu (35) furiously pumping away at the unidentified hooker without protection at the restaurant she owns.

In a fit of rage, the restaurant owner grabbed her husband’s genitals and twisted them.

As he bellowed in pain and collapsed to the ground, onlookers cheered and urged her to mete out more punishment.

“This should be a lesson to you to mend your ways, now that tool of pleasure that was leading you astray is being twisted like a floor mop,” shouted a woman with apparent delight at the turn of events.

Maradze burst into tears as she told B-Metro at the scene how a friend informed her that her husband was performing bedroom gymnastics with a hooker at her restaurant.

“I was at a party of a friend when a friend phoned me and said she saw my husband with a hooker at my work place.

I had to rush to this place and caught him red-handed having sex with a short, dark, thin and flat-bottomed hooker,” said the teary Maradze.

She added: “My husband had the audacity to take keys to my kitchen and sleep with a prostitute at my place where I cook meals for my customers, this is horrible.

I banged on the door and asked my husband to open the door but he refused. While I was at the door chiwure chake (his prostitute) shot out of the window and ran off naked.”

“I have been here for almost three hours asking him to open the door, but he does not want,” she said while her visibly drunk husband sheepishly peeped through the window. He was defiantly saying: “ Handibudi (I won’t come out). You want to embarrass me.”

Maradze continued calling on her hubby to man up and face the music.

“Wear your trousers, you loose man and open the door,” she dared Mudawu.

She attempted to get into the room through the window, but her husband pushed her back while threatening to beat her up.

More drama was yet to unfold as the man bolted out of the door in a boxer short. The angry woman who felt hard done by her husband followed in hot pursuit, according to B-Metro.

A fight ensued, but the woman was the winner as she grabbed her husband’s jewels and twisted them. The man keeled over in agony while trying to free himself from the vice-like grip of his wife.

The wife did not let go but applied more pressure resulting in Mudawu passing out as a result of the excruciating pain.

Seething with anger, Maradze wanted to end her life: “It’s better I die because I cannot handle this. I have to drink poison.”

It took the intervention of the owner of the building, Precious Magwende, to bring the ugly situation under control.

50-year old man has severely beaten his wife for slaughtering chicken which was meant for Christmas in Kabuna Central, Uganda.

The man Peter Kaduna is reported to have bought the chicken at Shs15, 000 with the aim of slaughtering and having it as a meal on Christmas day, but unfortunately his wife Christine Kayendeke slaughtered and prepared it on Sunday December 15.

According to the area LC1 Secretary for information, Joseph Gadimba, on learning that the chicken was no more, Kadama pounced on his wife accusing her of slaughtering the chicken without his permission.

“The man kicked and whipped the wife severely leaving her for dead. The woman is currently receiving medical treatment at Budaka Health Centre IV,” Mr Gadimba said.

He also said LC1 leaders ordered the man to take full responsibility of treating his wife which he accepted, and the case was never reported to police.

“Once the woman recovers, her relatives from Kapyani-Kasasira in Kibuku District are expected to hold a meeting with their in-law to establish the cause of the assault to their daughter and resolve the matter,” he said.
