So here's my take while I am not standing brief for the below average works of our builders/architects and I want them to do well, we must remember that identity is important in whatever we do. For instance if you see some houses you can tell that they are european houses, same with amerian houses, even chinese/japanese/asianish houses without being physically present maybe through pictures or something else. Even the arabians to an extent have their own special styled houses. The SA you mentioned looks almost like europe(tho the country was built by the whites so yeah it should look like europe) nothing african about it. If you see aso oke anywhere in the whole world you know its a yoruba invention. So I don't know if u get my drift. NOTE: I feel we should carve a niche for ourselves with high standards.
