On the early hours of today according to police report it was exactly 8:00am, when the students of the great citadel of learning "LAGOS STATE MODEL COLLEGE IGBONLA EPE" were to be gathered for the day's assembly that gunmen stormed the school and kidnapped 4 students and the vice principal, it was reported that with effort of The police force, two of these student have been rescued with two student and a vice principal at large.

First and most importantly, my sympathy and condolences are with the parents, student, teaching and non teaching staff of the present community of the " BIG FOREST" and I hope as I pray that the spirit of courage, unity, togetherness and long lasting that the "BIG FOREST" symbolizes stays with them through this hard times and That God Almighty rescues and protect the victims of this ugly incident and brings the perpetrators to book.

Having written that which I must state that I did with sadness at heart, I must state now,that more than ever the "BIG FOREST" needs the totality of all its communities and brotherhood to come together to blow its trumpet, if we don't no one will. This citadel of learning has since 1988 when it was founded by the sages and crowned by God produced numerous alumni who are out there, building quality life and making Nigeria really great. And over the course of its existence the "BIG FOREST" has been a force to be reckoned having won many laurels for itself and its communities; notable are:
1-The best school in Nigeria 2009
2-The best administrator in Nigeria
3-2012 winner of the Lagos State schools debate (individual speaker)
4- A silver medal in the African youths championships (Warri 2013)
among others.

There will be news and thoughts all over the media about this incident, most of which will be an act of condemnation about the school, scaring away parents and guardians who wants a brighter future for their children and wards. So if this little write-up will be the only one out there blowing and singing the praise of a community of learning,love,family and yet one of imperfection, so be it. 28 years after creation and while others founded same year rot away in pass glories, the "BIG FOREST" still stands tall with its vision 'To provide Qualitative and Reliable Education with Moral Excellence through dedication and commitment.'

Nobody is perfect, the "BIG FOREST" isn't and this is one of the lapses we have, so yes! we will stumble, we will cry, because we are sad, we are scared, we are afraid but we shall not fall. If a world standard system of education is to met, the country will need us, as we are a standard schools are measured with and we will continue to be even with this trial because together we shall overcome it, for your glory, our dear model college igbonla.

Be that as it may, I would like the Nigeria government, the present Ambode administration and all armed forces to come to our aid and help rescue our family and help us ensure the "BIG FOREST" never have to pass through this unfortunate ordeal again.

As a man of simplicity, i will like to pen down my final words by saying, once again the community of the "BIG FOREST" past and present needs to stand together because today, today THE GAME STANDS TALL ! ,and we are needed to help the 'BIG FOREST" survive this storm as our Alma mater needs us to be there it, as it has always been all the years we were there. It protected and accommodated us through the years we needed it and today that loophole in its stem is bringing it down and we need to help it stand again. Now more than ever,since I left your watchful eyes, I MISS YOU, I may be far but like all those whom your touch has pointed the way, I STAND WITH YOU saying; "WE MAY STUMBLE BUT WE SHALL NOT FALL"
