After they created it, before they could formalise it, the FG through Malami came out and declared it illegal. So the main aim of Amotekun was already largely defeated once it couldn't be birthed as a regional outfit. In a bid to still have some semblance of it, the states decided to create it per state which is what you're claiming for Tinubu. There's no evidence that it was Tinubu that asked them to create it per state or that it was his idea they were following. What is clearer to everyone is that Lagos did not sign Amotekun bill into law neither did it create Amotekun. You're looking to whitewash that by claiming Lagos did not need Amotekun. If so, why did the gov join the remaining SW govs in advocating for Amotekun and why was the bill passed in the House?
I already told you that equating neighbourhood watch with Amotekun simply shows ignorance. The idea behind both are far apart. Amotekun is supposed to be a paramilitary outfit that's charged with riding the forests and boundaries of the SW of terrorist elements not a neighbourhood vigilante service

Operation sweep was a multi agency force and military styled. RRS was police. Police work should be distinct from soldier work.

If you had listened to Makinde very well, you'll hear he said they wanted state police. It's because it failed they settled for Amotekun which each state was to create and back by law just as all the north east states have CJTF. Only Lagos state did not create it neither does the law exist in Lagos. So explain how a man gave an idea to others he never used himself.
Your claim is baseless. Amotekun was supposed to be a regional police backed by law in all the states of the SW. The fact that Lagos did not sign it means that initiative failed in that regard so your praise is misguided. Tinubu actually sabotaged Amotekun

All what you just said is what i said. Tinubu advised them to do this. Like you said, they wanted to make Amotekun a kind of state police and it was opposed by the then FG as unconstitutional. Lagos signed in unity to establish Amotekun in the South West as they're also a SW state, but they already had their own working community security corps, intelligence-gathering and patrol outfits, and support force working alongside federal security agencies. Amotekun would be a duplication in Lagos so it wasn't created but they work together.
