I'm not an auto guru but does what you're saying apply in all situations. Eg a new car and an old car? For instance a friend once said he was embarrassed to change car when his vehicle on 120/140km/h was constantly lagging behind a Honda EoD in a journey. Don't tell me the EoD is doing 160km/h. I doubt how a new car and an old car can perform on same speed. Can a toyota corrolla on 80km/h match a Bugatti/Ferrari on 80km/h?

there's a difference between acceleration and speed. The EOD would have had better acceleration to beat your friend's old car.

I think there're different horsepower for cars or so. For example, we traveled one time like that with two vehicles. Toyota celica and Mercedes c class (beast or so) the celica i was in was doing 120km/hr and the c class guy said he's doing 80/90, but through the journey, the c class will go far and wait for us to catch up. All over the world, engine flameout is an international emergency and shouldn't be taken lightly. It's a "Mayday" emergency. The TranAsian air crash in Taiwan on Feb 5, 2015 in which over 30 people died and 15 injured was primarily caused by an engine flameout.
Let's be cautious and sensitive in making statements. You cannot blame Nigerian flyers for panicking because we all know that save for our distasteful aviation standards and poor precautionary/maintenance measures, some of the air accidents in nigeria could have been avoided.
The fact that you have a little aviation/aeronautics knowledge shouldn't make you bully others with it by discarding this incident as ordinary. Everybody mustn't be an aviation expert or aeronautical engineer to know when there's a disturbing situation in the air. And this particular one, to be honest called for every reason for passengers to be worried. This is Nigeria.
