The President has signed a new amendment bill to the 2024 bill. He has fully decentralized power and removed the load totally from the federal to the states.

The Igbos said the bill won't go through because the north was against it. Igbos were really happy when the north was against the bill, they supported northern politicians in opposing the bill

They opposed the bill for two reasons:
1. It won't favor the South East because most of their investments are in the West and all the VAT will go to the West.
2. It will be in their favor politically if the West and the core north are at loggerheads.

IN BOTH CASES IT WAS SELFISH. But I must say, not all of them but the majority were against the bill for either or both of these reasons.

People from all over Nigeria especially the South East have thousands of hotels in Lagos and they don't pay taxes to their various States. Where do you think this IGR comes from?

We all know it's a south western state but every part of Nigeria from Sokoto to Rivers have investments in Lagos because it was the capital of this country for goodness sake.
