Again you are wrong. The vigilante in my community is working very well and we dont have crimes. Where we get problems is when we catch a criminal and sent to the police, they will somehow release the criminal behind their backs.

Same federal police scattering the work of the vigilante. Keep helping me make my points. You're doing well.

Eedris guided Timaya.

Eedris faced 50 Cents to stop marginalisation of Nigerian artists in Nigeria.

Eedris is the next to Fella on the list of those who have been tortured by the government for speaking for the masses.

Action beats inaction anyday. Let's start state police and weed out the few bad points about it, than this present insecurity. Are you enjoying insecurity? Are benefiting from it?

If your answer is no, let's try something new. Giving example with sim registration and NIN which the same inefficient and ineffective federal government bungled is a very bad example, and you are still making my points for me. Thanks.
Vigilante groups in various states of Nigeria prove you wrong. Politicians and wealthy people use those vigilante officers against innocent and poor members of the communities. State police cannot be different as long as the leaders are the same.

All you said in your last paragraph is what a state police will do. Thanks for making my points for me.
You will be disappointed. This will be like the arguement had over SIM card registration being an end to kidnapping and fraud. It will also be like the arguement had over BVN being an end to money laundering. Who will control the recruitment of officers in state police? The same politicians that use cultists as thugs during elections? Do you think those politicians will leave those cultists that are their puppets and go for diligent people that will represent the interest of the public? Those politicians will definitely recruit their puppets for the protection of their selfish interests.

that exactly what I mean too... Maybe I did not consider putting it... The girl's family responsibility because I was asked to provide the money.
The family is either irresponsible or ignorant of the tradition. What the family is meant to do is to raise the money from another source or raise it indirectly from you by collecting part of the money that you are to use for your wife's marriage rites (example, the money you are to use to give them drinks or yam tubers) and using that money to settle the mother's bride price. The family is not meant to directly ask you to raise the mother's bride price for the family.
PhonesRe: Telcos Submit Requests, Push For 100% Tariff Increase, Await NCC Approval by immortalcrown(m):
Who does this news claim is sensitive to the economic situation of the country?

The tariff is already too expensive, even more expensive than when Nigerians were billed per minute and booster card was in use.

Soon, some people will begin to brag on social media for being able to make phone calls in Nigeria. E be like say we go go back to posting letters and using smoke to send messages. Or, using ravens as was done in Game of Thrones. But ravens can be shot down. Are ravens even available?

The energy being used to advocate for LGBTQ should have been used to advocate for free internet connection to be made a universal human right.

"Governors should collaborate with the Federal Government to make the states more secure through proactive policing. They should make state police possible in conjunction with the state assemblies, the National Assembly, and the centre."

Just let the state policing start, many of these security challenges will be stopped because the cross border banditry will almost stop. Every state can spend money to secure their states, not waiting on the weak FG to help them.
Changing clothes does not mean changing character.

Criminals from each state make up the federal police. Those criminals will make up the police force each state. The criminality or brutality will continue because the same set of people with the same set of mindset are still in charge.

State police is not the solution. The solution is simple but the government will not be willing to apply that solution because those in power benefit from the criminality of the police.

If the police cannot stop crime in a state, don't retire or transfer the commissioner of police in the state, sack him. If a police station cannot prevent crimes in a community or at least apprehend the perpetrators of the crime, don't retire or transfer the DPO, sack him. This will purify the police force, whether it is federal police or state police.
RomanceRe: Do You Have This Rite In Your Culture? by immortalcrown(m): 7:55am On Jan 03, 2025
Nazgul:
In Igbo land if you impregnate a girl and she dies without you paying her bride price, you must marry her before claiming your children. If you don't pay her bride price, you can't claim your children.

Since the girls mom wasn't officially married her has to marry her before being able to marry the daughter. It doesn't mean he'll begin to have sex with her. It's just tradition.
You are misinterpreting Igbo traditions here. It is true that the man will pay the late wife's bride price before burying her. But there's nothing like the man being asked to marry the wife's mother.
RomanceRe: Do You Have This Rite In Your Culture? by immortalcrown(m): 7:52am On Jan 03, 2025
Kennitrust:
said it their tradition?

It either I help the eldest son in the family to pay the Bride price of their mother on behalf of their late father or nothing can be done about it.
How on earth does this mean you marrying the girl's mother?
RomanceRe: Do You Have This Rite In Your Culture? by immortalcrown(m): 7:42am On Jan 03, 2025
Kennitrust:
I was shocked to learn that... For me to marry the girl, I have to first marry the mother of the girl since her late husband did not pay her dowry, so no man can pay anything on the girl's head. I was left in shock because I didn't expect this.
Explain the bolded part.

What do you mean by you marrying the girls mother?

As for the bride price, there is a way my tradition handles it. You either take the girl without paying her bride price or her family will first pay the mother's bride price to enable you pay the girl's own bride price. The second option is the best.

The first option is very bad because the girl will not be traditionally recognised as your wife until you pay her bride price. Her family can even claim the children she has with you. But these days, court judgement overrules traditions, meaning that with DNA test results and with evidence that you have been spending on those children, you can claim those children.

FoodRe: Have You Noticed The Sudden Trend Of Big Chickens In Nigeria? by immortalcrown(m):
emmy512:
It’s curious how this trend seemed to pop up almost overnight. Could it be that something new is being used to grow these chickens faster and larger? Were there advancements in poultry farming techniques that suddenly became widespread? Or is this tied to some kind of new feed or growth-enhancing practice that wasn’t used before?

More importantly, should we be concerned about potential health implications? If these chickens are being bred or enhanced in ways we don’t fully understand, could there be side effects for consumers down the line?
A good observation.

You are proactive. Keep it up.

The world is advancing both negatively and positively. Everything is being maximized and exhausted.

The wise getting wiser.

The fool is getting more foolish.

More discoveries.

Quicker advancements.

Crazier modifications of things.

Faster growth in living things.

Weaker immune systems.

More money for the pharmaceutical industries.

Then, higher death rates.

If your reasoning is below that level, here is your answer.

I HATE MY POOR SELF THATS WHY I DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO OVERCOME MY POOR SELF. I STAYED AWAY FROM MY POOR SELF, I WAS NEVER COMFORTABLE IN POVERTY. AND I NEVER HAD ALL THESE FUNNY POVERTY MENTALITY.

I’m sure OP can agree with me. If he is comfortable being poor, he wouldn’t build a business or think of cutting off some people.
Did you disconnect from yourself before you became rich?

I become rich by providing value to people who have money, not freeloading off others.

In fact, I don’t have 0 reason to give any one a dime. My pride didn’t allow me beg, I worked hard instead.

I did odd jobs, slave off as a cleaner/house help etc till i can save enough to get what I need to learn a skill.

After learning a skill, I look for job, manage my money and utilize the little I have till it becomes big.

You see, I owe no one.

Towards the end of last year, I did some calculations, realized I am being too much of Father Christmas, and made that decision to cut off freeloaders.

I’m with OP.
You have not answered my question.
