Politics / Stop Complaining; Jonathan Left You $30billion, Obasanjo Tells Buhari by impactinfluence: 7:36pm On Sep 16, 2016
Stop complaining about crude
price, Jonathan left you $30b,
Obasanjo tells Buhari
x President Olusegun Obasanjo has asked
President Muhammadu Buhari to stop
using dwindling crude prices for lack of
performance.
According to Obasanjo, he met worse when he
took power in 1999, but made the best of it.
He reminded Buhari that unlike his
administration that met a paltry $3.7 billion, in
the coffers, Goodluck Jonathan left behind a
whooping $30 billion.
He said “When I assumed office in 1999, I
inherited $3.7 billion in reserve, while Buhari
met $30 billion, almost 10 times of what I met
then, and the price of oil then was $9. When it
got to $20, I was dancing. know the price is
down now and with time, it will jump up again.
What Buhari is doing currently is preparing
ground for Nigeria to take advantage when it
goes up again.”
Obasanjo expressed angst against those asking
him to account for recovered Abacha loot,
describing them as illiterates and silly people.
Obasanjo, who stated this in an interview,
weekend, said the role of his office was to
facilitate the recovery process and not how it
was put to use.
He said: “They said the money recovered
from Abacha, I should account for it. What
stupidity! The man who asked for it, the man
who gave the judgement or who answered
them are all silly, with due respect.
“I don’t keep account, all Abacha loots were
sent to Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and every
bit of it was reported to Minister of Finance. My
job was to write where we can get help to
recover the money.
“Every penny that comes out of it went to CBN,
so if they want to know what happened to the
money, they should call CBN governor or call
the Minister of Finance.
“But again, it shows ignorance, total
ignorance, which is lacking and you wonder,
are these people educated? They can also
approach the man who helped us in recovering
process to give the list of
money recovered and where he took it.”

Sports / Crisis Brews As NFF ‘hijacks’ $390,000 Dream Team Gift From Japanese Doctor by impactinfluence: 12:42am On Aug 21, 2016
A major confrontation capable of further
embarrassing Nigeria at the 2016 Olympic
Games appears to be brewing between members
of the Dream Team VI and officials of Nigeria
Football Federation over a cash gift from a
Japanese doctor.
The donation, totalling $390,000, came from
Katsuya Takasu, a plastic surgeon and football
enthusiast, to boost the morale of the Nigerian
players who have been bogged down by financial
inadequacies.
Mr. Takasu informed the Nigerian government
through its embassy in Tokyo that he intended to
make the donation, adding that he would fly
Brazil to personally hand in the funds to the
players and also watch Nigerian team’s duel with
Honduras played this Saturday.
Nigeria defeated Honduras 3-2, winning bronze
at the Olympics, 20 years after it defeated
Argentina to clinch gold at the Atlanta 1996
Olympics.
Mr. Takasu said the team coach, Samson Siasia,
and its captain, Mikel Obi, should each take
$200,000 and $190,000, respectively.
But out of the blue on Saturday afternoon,
reports emerged that some NFF officials had
‘hijacked’ the process and demanded that Mr.
Takasu must hand the money to them for
onward disbursement to team members.
Idah Peterside, a sports analyst and former
goalkeeper for the Super Eagles, was amongst
the first persons to raise the alarm on social
media.
“More trouble in the dream team camp….the
money from the Japanese man to the dream
team.has been hijacked by the NFA (he meant
NFF),” Mr. Petersaid said. “They want to use the
money to pay the coaches as salaries. Bitrus
Bewarang was sent to get the money from the
Japanese, but the players say it’s their money.”
Mr. Peterside’s alarm elicited immediate response
from Nigerians who said the NFF had no business
fiddling with the donation because its conditions
were clear, and many condemned those
responsible for the controversy as greedy and
shameless.
“There’s greed. Then, there’s corruption. And
there’s that condition of having no capacity for
shame whatsoever,” tweeted Gbenga Sesan, a
capacity development expert.
But the NFF denied the allegations, saying it took
over the process because it wanted the funds to
be routed through appropriate channels.
“The NFF has not collected any money from
Japanese plastic surgeon, Dr. Katsuya Takasu, as
against the misinformation by Mr. Idah,” the NFF
said in a post on its Twitter handle Saturday
afternoon.
Amaju Pinnick, the NFF president, said since
Nigeria is a sovereign nation, it would be out of
place to allow an individual make donations
directly to individual team members.
“Nigeria is a sovereign nation and such a
donation must go through a process. If we get a
go-ahead, it will go directly to the team,” Mr.
Pinnick said. “To say NFF has ‘hijacked’ the
money is outright mischief. The checks must be
concluded and we are given a go-ahead to
collect by the government.”
A letter from Nigeria’s Charge d’Affaires in Tokoya
to the sports authorities stated the beneficiaries
of Mr. Takasu’s donation as Mr. Siasia and Mr.
Obi, but the NFF or any of its officials was not
included.
Mr. Takasu said he made the donation to the
players after hearing about their financial crisis.
“I read about the financial problems affecting the
team and I felt the need to make a big
contribution,” Mr. Takasu told the BBC earlier this
week.

Politics / Why The Desperation To Rope In Dr. Goodluck Jonathan? By Reno Omokri by impactinfluence: 8:43am On Aug 20, 2016
Reno Omokri
The coordinated attack on the integrity and
credibility of former President Goodluck Jonathan
is unfortunate. That the same hastily cooked up
lies were reported simultaneously and almost
word for word by The Nation,
saharareporters.com, premiumtimesng.com and
other known client media of the powers that be
is evidence of the fact that someone powerful is
out to get the former President.
Let us even consider the report in itself. One of
the conjectures used by the propagators of this
lie to pull the wool over the eyes of Nigerians is
contained in this quote “It has been known in
government circles that Jonathan may be behind
the NDA. The speed with which he denied the
allegation spoke volumes.”
There has never been such a childish and
amateurish justification for sullying the hard
earned peaceful reputation of a man like former
President Jonathan as this.
When in November of 2012 Boko Haram named
Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), now the
current President of Nigeria, as one of its chosen
mediators did he not quickly and immediately
deny and reject the nomination by Boko Haram?
Flowing from the same warped reasoning, his
speedy denial is also evidence that he had a
hand in the terrorism occasioned by the radical
Islamic sect, but we know that is not true
because Boko Haram tried to kill Mr. Buhari.
If it were that Dr. Jonathan did not quickly and
completely deny any links with the Niger Delta
Avengers and any other militants group, then
the sponsors of this wishy washy story would
have changed their tactics and would have said
that his non denial is evidence of his complicity.
Another so called evidence used against the
former President in this sponsored report is the
fact that he called for peace and urged militants
not to declare a republic or contemplate
secession.
In the disturbed thinking of the sponsors of this
report, this is evidence against Dr. Jonathan?
Has it occurred to these demented persons that
this is precisely what a genuine statesman
should do in times like these? In September of
2011, former President Olusegun Obasanjo
visited Maiduguri to see the family of the late
founder of Boko Haram, Mohammed Yusuf, in
search of peace. He was applauded for such a
courageous act, as he should have been,
because that is what is expected of statesmen.
In other climes, they give people Nobel Peace
Prizes for prevailing on belligerents to sheathe
their swords, but apparently in Nigeria, it is
evidence of your complicity. Should Nigerians be
surprised then that passers by refuse to help
those attacked by armed robbers or accident
victims on the roadside like the Good Samaritan?
If you do, the government may accuse you of
being the perpetrator instead of the savior.
But these happenings are not surprising to me.
We were all witnesses to the threat to withdraw
the licenses of the two major fertilizer
manufacturers in Nigeria, Notore Petrochemical
and Indorama Eleme Petrochemical, for providing
the materials used by terrorists and militants to
make Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
Now, according to this new tale inserted into the
media, it was Dr. Jonathan who instructed
militants to mine oil installations before the May
29th, 2015 handover date.
Now it is confirmed that liars do not have a good
memory and so must contradict themselves. If
the oil installations were rigged with mines the
question to be asked is are mines made from
fertilizers? Can they not get their story right?
There is a troubling pattern here. It seems that
any time Dr. Jonathan is advancing on the world
stage for his humanitarian and pro-democracy
activities, these fallacious stories appear in the
media to distract him.
When he was on his very successful international
speaking tour earlier in the year, the lie was told
that he was away on exile.
Now that he is back from his second successful
outing as head of the African Union Elections
Observation Mission to Zambia the usual
suspects are up to their old tricks. Who knows
what they would do next when they behold the
great things that Dr. Jonathan is set to do very
shortly?
And to the Minister of Information, Dr. Lai
Mohammed, who was quoted in the said report
as saying “these allegations have refused to go
away and those making the allegations are not
backing out”, let me remind him that there are
allegations against him that have refused to go
away.
In fact, the allegations against Lai Mohammed
come with documentary evidence. We remember
that he was alleged to have begged his
subordinates at the National Broadcasting
Commission (NBC) for a ‘loan’ of N13 million
against civil service rules and against the rules of
public decency.
Have those allegations gone away, Mr. Lai
Mohammed? Should we then accept them as
true? Of course not! Why? Because allegations,
no matter how weighty, are not evidence.
Like I said before, I am ever proud of Dr.
Goodluck Jonathan. Somebody asked me what I
gained by working with Goodluck Jonathan. My
response was that I learnt wisdom. I learnt that It
is better to lose power and gain honor than to
gain power and lose honor. I learnt not to defend
myself when my enemies falsely accuse me. The
same media that gleefully reported their lies will
eventually expose them when they see that the
public is no longer buying their lies.
Finally, I learnt that the best revenge against
those who criticize how you do your job is to step
aside and let them have the job and watch them
underperform in such a manner until they get so
desperate that the only achievements they can
boast of are the ones you achieved during your
so called underperformance. May God bless Dr.
Jonathan for teaching me such wisdom! In Jesus
name.

To everyone; The scripture says "Every idle words men shall give, they shall give account of them" on the day of judgement

Going through NL everyday I am compelled say, its rather appalling seeing how the love of God of 'so called' christians are waxing cold by the day. I am not surprised as it is evident in the scriptures. RELIGION is one of the problems of the world and it is a very difficult BONDAGE TO BREAK, it is important I make it clear that Christianity is not a religion but rather it is THE PULSATING LIFE OF CHRIST IN A HUMAN BEING....i.e GOD TARBERNACLE IN A HUMAN BEING (John5:26-27).Jesus said in the bible that I HAVE COME THAT YOU MAY HAVE LIFE, AND HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY. It is striking to note that when Jesus made this statement, he was talking to people who were alive; in otherwords he was talking about another kind of life i.e. This life is called the GOD-KIND OF LIFE (ZOE), it is also called ETERNAL LIFE. Oh how many people have thought it wrongly that eternal life awaits them when they die (John 3:16) but rather eternal life is imparted into you the moment you get born again. This is what we believe true christianity is all about. Religion is simply serving God without A REVELATION. The fact that you were born into a christian home does NOT make you a christian, probably you happen to be the child of a deacon, pastor, bishop, evangelist, the fact that you are committed in church does not one either, because you can a 65years old baby in the church etc. YOU BECOME A CHRISTIAN if you have made the prayer of salvation(Romans 9:10)

@OP, reading through your post I must say you have been through a lot and I thank God you made it this far...
My questions for you are: Are you bornagain?, do you attend a church well planted in the word? How is your relationship with God like?. You cannot even KNOW GOD if you do not have the HOLYSPIRIT because HE is the one who reveals THE FATHER. The scripture is replete on the nature and the personality of God (Study The book of John). Never fall or be fooled by some craps NLders are churning out,Its just the case of a blind leading a blind. THE BIBLE IS COMPLETE AND THE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS YOU WILL FIND.

Politics / Presidency Says Buhari Might Resign, Gives Shocking Reason by impactinfluence: 11:02am On Jul 23, 2016
Following the cash crunch that has gripped the
Nigerian economy, sources within presidency are
saying the president and his cabinet members,
should be forced to resign for their inability to
manage the economy. The decline in the
nation’s economy has been attributed to the
renewed bombing of pipelines by militants in the
Niger Delta region and the 70 per cent decline in
oil prices from about S116 per barrel in June
2014 to about $30 per barrel earlier in the
year. Investigations had showed that the initial
plan of the government, was to release the sum
of N350 billion every quarter, to ensure that
there were sufficient funds to keep capital
projects running, but this plan has been
thwarted, due to dwindling oil revenue and lack
of clear cut economic policies.
According to Post-Nigeria, the non-release of
funds is having a devastating impact on the
Ministries, Department and Agencies, (MDAs), as
they are barely able to pay salaries, while every
other obligation, particularly execution of capital
projects, have been put on hold. ”With the
excruciating hardship, and inflation rate hitting
16.5 percent, Buhari should do the needful, by
tendering his resignation letter, having failed
180 million Nigerians,” a credible source
lamented. Other reliable sources, added that the
MDAs are currently frustrated, and are even
scared of advertising for jobs, because they
know there are no funds to execute them. “The
Ministry of Finance cannot even release quarterly
allocation to MDAs as it used to do in the years
past, because it is President Muhammadu Buhari
who decides what is to be released, to which
sector and at what point”, the source added.
The United States of America, had taken a swipe
and called for the resignation of President
Buhari. US accused the Buhari administration of
sheepishly running Nigeria underground. The US
former Chairman of House Intelligence
Committee, Pete Hoekstra, made this disclosure
on behalf of the United States, in an opinion
article he wrote on Friday, June 17, published in
the Wall Street Journal.
