Very childish and shallow reasoning especially coming from a sopposedly married man who should be more experienced and mature!

I'm happy you acknowledged, his being more experienced. Yet he's dishing out knowledge that seem not to make sense.

I guess if it made sense, it'll be common knowledge, so obvious to every young man like you.

I have learned not to try to teach your kind anymore. BITTER experience will do that for you. And trust me, it will

Education / Re: Longest Notes In Secondary School? by In4matic: 6:51am On Mar 10
Most who say biology and chemistry are obviously Science students.

Those who say Geography and Economics are basically Commercial students.

Those advocating for Government, History and Literature definitely are Arts students.

As Someone who had the privilege of doing ALL, I tell you the longest in order of length.

1. HISTORY definitely takes number 1 slot. No history student ever finishes the questions in waec in one booklet.

2. BIOLOGY. Don't be deceived. Unless you were playing in secondary school, Only you and you alone will understand your different biology notes.
Not your parents.
Not your siblings.
At times, not even your classmates!
Biology was the proverbial elephant. Everyone's note was totally different.

3. GEOGRAPHY. Chai!!! All I can say, those who used that red bound textbook Goh Cheh Leong can confirm.

Those who didn't use the textbook would't know what God did for them.

SOSinNigeria:

You made strong points, but you didn't offer a solution out of this quagmire.

How do we discuss amicably and reach a consensus towards going our separate ways?

I have really thought deeply about Nigeria and came to the realization that what keeps us apart is greater than what binds us together. We are better off as independent neighbors than being together with such crazy antagonism for one another.

I don't see any easy solution.
It's either we collectively agree to become a nation, willingly agreeing to make huge sacrifices that'll get Nigeria working.
Or,

The alternative is a volatile break-up which will involve heavy losses to life and property on every side.

Both options aren't palatable to the average Nigerian including me and you because we're not ready to make that level of sacrifice (Sacrifices that'll involve paying with life and limb).
Until we reach that point, Nigeria isn't going anywhere

So here we'll remain, chasing our tails.

Please there is oil every part of nigeria now ,as at the last check the oil discovered in bauchi, borno and Lagos

Oil was discovered as far back as 1985 or thereabouts in the Chad basin.

If you stop to wonder why it was kept under wraps till now you'll begin to understand what I am saying.
Politics / Re: Why Share A Country Since Nigerians Hate Each Other With Passion? by In4matic: 11:22pm On May 24, 2023
The answer to your question can be summarized into one word: OIL!!!

A more detailed answer; Nigeria being a British creation coincidentally possesses diverse economic resources.
However, she has consistently been ruled by largely tribal serfs who designed the nation as a unitary state.
So what this implies is that whoever sits atop this veritable MMM has access to stupendous wealth such as he'll never have been able to access as a tribal ruler.

Nigeria's problem is one thing only Patriotism, or the lack of it.
We did not learn how to be Nigerians before we became Nigerians.

The Brits were not interested in grooming us to be patriotic;

The Early political leaders were not interested in following an example of patriotism;
The religious leaders are least interested in raising patriotic followers. Their only interest is in their religion and how to make the most of it.

The average person is trying to get what he can from the system to cater for himself, his family, his kinsmen and his tribe.

There you have it.

Do you guys read the news? How many successive government in Nigeria haven't done a housing scheme. All they do is take a vast area of land and build bungalows while inflating the cost.

Do you think a dictator from these same crop of people will magically start building 10 storeys instead of bungalow?
.

Clearly, you didn't read what the OP posted, if you did, you'll realize he wasn't referring to just the "housing scheme" already in existence by this failed system overpriced for a few...

He meant housing for every single citizen... The entire 200 million of the lot.

Why do some people borrow so they can eat or pay rent?
Do you think they don't have land to farm or mud for building house?

Who did they go to borrow from to eat?

Africa needs to berestructured. .
Africa current nations should all split and new nations should be formed strictly base on ethnic homogeneity. .
The artificial heterogeneous countries in africa will never develop untill the above is done...

Tribal boundaries have been one of the primary reasons why Africa has defied all efforts to develope.

Africa never had a conqueror who collapsed tribes into one strong state.

As the English did for the Norman's and Saxons. As Ghenghis Khan did, as Alexander the great did..

We just have to forge ourselves into one United people and toss out tribes that are dying anyway.

Even if he were to magically build the fancy structures, nothing will change economically.
His farming revolution will eventually lead to starvation and famine as experienced in Stalin's Coviet

So in your opinion, Nigeria is at a better level than Mao's China?

Do you even know the difference between Communism and Socialism?

Don't mind the poser.
I was shocked that many people agreed with him even though he doesn't
understand the problem he is trying to solve.

Nigeria is practically a socialist economy and we don't even make the top 100 capitalist country.
Almost every sector is under one subsidy or the other with people demanding for more freebies.

Well, he has some pictures of fancy houses to be magically built by willing communist slaves.
And he is damn sure that having such structures is the height of development.

Do you even understand the Nigerian problem?
Do you deny that 80% of Nigerians are Poor, lacking in the most basic necessities of life?

How is Nigeria Socialist? So because this government that previously claimed subsidy is a scam are now saying they pay subsidy. Does that mean we are a Socialist state?

Pray tell me what makes a society developed if not the amenities/structures within?

How can we achieve socialism in multi-cultural society like Nigeria?
The answer is simple but painful... As painful as removing a decaying tooth.

All cultures have to be collapsed into a NATIONAL CULTURE.

Cultures/ peoples who refuse to merge with other people will be left alone to forge their separate path.

You are unrealistically idealistic in your thinking of the problem.
Let’s assume the manpower is available and are willing to work without pay (ignoring the fact that this is tantamount to slavery),
the physical resources for achieving those goals still have to be sourced, some imported, foreign exchange is needed as well as international cooperation.

The pyramids were built by slaves of a wealthy great civilization.
Ancient Egypt was not surviving on world bank loans.

If by Physical resources you mean granite, sand, cement, steel rods, steel beams, steel pipes, wires, cables, pvc, bitumen, aluminium/ slate roofing sheets, I don't think I need to answer that as I'm sure you know we don't have to import any of those.

If you mean machinery, repairs, spares and fabricating new ones, we just need use what is available and to get our best hands to make ours the way Germans did.

As to your comments of slavery... Who is a slave?

1. Someone forced by internal or external forces to work to make a living for himself and his family?
Or
2. Someone put to work for free without any consideration?

If you're answer is the former, then we are all slaves.
If the answer is the latter, then I don't know of any slave in history because even the slaves of Egypt were housed clothed and fed. The difference is that they had no freewill to decline not to work.

“From whence do you anticipate the funds for implementation of these socialist/communist policies will come from?”

Your country is borrowing to survive, and you risk alienating the west by leaning towards socio-communist systems..

You are also part of the reason why we are this backward. Believing we have to borrow to survive...

Let me ask you Chyjoey,
Why do we need to borrow to build a building, or two buildings or a 1000 units of buildings or roads or drainages?
What aspect of these things can't be built by Nigerians using Nigerian material

Nigeria only needs restructuring and investment in human development before building useless flyovers and white elephant projects. Your solution for a communist dictatorship is actually stupid...in a communist dictatorship you're practically a property of the government.

That you don't agree with someone doesn't mean his idea is stupid.. since you are not able to make a better idea, I think the joke is on you..

If I ask you restructuring to what? States? Regional powers or what?
Did the regional systems really work in the 60's? It only ended up creating regional power brokers..

Have state creation solved anything? Think my man

If only we could get it past merely wishing for it and actually putting it into a well developed outline... Then it can be acceptable to many of us sick of living like animals in a jungle.
