So what caused the crash? |
thank God he escaped |
wordcat:truely state of Emergency was good. it should have been the herald to Nigeria's action movies . sadly it fizzled and the really good hands took a back seat. the Saint obi crew |
You are spot on. It took me a while to reach similar conclusions but yes, in order to move forward. we collectively as a race have to discard in totality the things that separates us: Tribal/ethnic divisions, religious divisions, this-is-how-we-have-always-done-it syndrome. Any organism that refuses to adapt dies. Are we ready to die and become extinct or are set to begin living? |
Mcquine:It is not only possible, it is achievable. Nigeria is capable of working. We will have to make sacrifices to achieve this revolution through the ballot. We are still drafting a long term blue print of developing the country. for instance, I was trying to get an estimate of the number of cars in Tge country. (11-14 million cars ) with this number of vehicles renewing licences every year at between 7,000-10,000 annually, This country has no excuse having bad roads? |
Exactly what I have been saying. this isnt about just a presidential aspiration but the whole institution of government. see my signature for more details |
Kennyfancy:PVC is the first step but after that what next? Permit me to point out that the way elections are run presently is individual based. A system where one individual, who's gained some popularity and amassed enough funds through any means doles out huge funds to run his campaign himself. he is a sole proprietor of sorts. He bears the financial risk of his loss by himself and his investors if any. I am recommending a different approach. This is the only way an unknown ' Bayo', an unknown 'Nedu' an unheard of 'Musty' can attain political relevance in this country. |
We raised a formidable force in the days of NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES (NAUG) later rebranded NIGERIA GRADUATES AGAINST UNEMPLOYMENT all from this same platform. let's do it again with A vision to recreate our own version of Nigeria |
lets chew on this Please Mods, this needs wider audience. Mynd44 Lalasticlala Mr Seun These are desperate times. We need all your collective Input to see this work |
This isn't the time to play tribe or religion. If you like pray for 80 days and 80 nights no single thing in Nigeria will change until we change it. Let's start a movement to rebuild Nigeria. A NIGERIA where we the youth will take over the helm of govt. Where the life of every citizen is precious and no body is above the rule of law. Where no Govt official can earn more than the highest ranking Civil Servant. Whether you're President Senator or Governor. Wherere only one term of say 5 years in Office is allowed for any elected official. Where ASPIRANTS are picked based on IQ And leadership skills not Ghana must go primaries. Where people retire from public service earlier at say 50 years to create room for the younger ones. it'll make faster rise in the public service . This country may never get better if we don't throw out the entire police force we currently have and re employ young vibrant and courteous individuals who will grow in the force by performance and not years on the job. WHY CAN'T OUR POLICE STATIONS LOOK LIKE BANKS WITH AIR COOLING SYSTEMS MODERN WORK STATIONS AND ICT GADGETS. In the 90s , banks were nondescript buildings looking very much like the post offices of today. if the banking sector could rebrand itself, the police force can as well. Why cant we have elections via l dedicated online portals, if the whole if Africa can vote seamlessly on a show like big brother, why cant we use simple sms codes to vote without queung in the sun. No queues, means no rigging plus lower cost of elections. What does it take to build world class Apartment blocks with centralised Water systems, sewage, laundry etc (This is possible..... (we have the land, the limestone, the steel, and human capital; name the kind of Engineering discipline, we've got the manpower. Who says the Industries cannot be managed professionally? Hundreds of companies are moribund , while we now have to make do with menial jobs because all these old grandads ran them aground. Why cant we collapse our Ethnic differences and come up with one new tongue, one agreed set of customs and merge the 250 ethnic groups into ONE! The world super powers have only One language. Let's think Outside the box guys. All this is possible if we band together. it'll take us a while to build such a unique Movement. A Movement where every elected officer knows what he/she is going to execute from the first day he/she enters office. We can totally take over by 2023. Will keep you posted if you wish. Reply |
I have been an avid supporter of the present Government until very recently when it became obvious there was no hope in recycled leaders. Imagine insult to injury, Where the President who came to power by the sheer efforts of the youths. Vibrant youths who campaigned and voted massively for him only for the grandad to turn around and call us lazy is one slight we shouldn't let slide.. Without us, our votes, our strengths, our blood and our sweat he wouldn't be where he is today. therefore I say it's time to begin sweeping out the trash. Its not just the president alone. The entire flock of old men who tasted the best of opportunities that this country had to offer them, yet have refused to return the favour by giving us the platform to taste the kind of opportunities they enjoyed. Still they remain unwilling to let go. |
what are you proposing? an idea you need volunteers for need to be expressed in concise terms. |
This is quite bizarre. imagine that peaceful community. but wait o. why do the police lie like this. that police post isnt worth millions. that's not an endorsement for criminal activities sha |
at Op , frathermathy et al.. I witnessed a similar one in the 90s. as tall as this though not so colorfully adorned is that the Eni? because it hasn't been 50 years since then.. modified: I just saw the reduction , so it must be 1998 if my memory serves me well. |
Mods ; mynd44 , Nairalanders what do we think? |
The younger generation has to decide what we want to do with this nation. Either to go the selfish way of our elders and let tribalism/ethnicity rule over our psyche , Or Scrap the entire tribal /ethnic groups and merge into one village, one culture that will be more united and pro development, well organized to recognize all citizens as Nigerians first. We should develop one distinct language / cultural practice that will be adapted from the existing ones and teach it to our children. Then we have the ingredients for having a true black superpower Kudos to you op |
I thought i was the only one that noticed! So how can anybody convince me the entire Seccesion / restructuring/ Exodus chants were not all stage managed? I mean, look at the way they've ALL dropped their agitation . Almost as if it never happened. |
Let him go and swear in ogun shrine he is not in any cult first .see kettle giving pot a bad name |
nengibo:Angulama Community which was the most ancient town in the present Kalabari kingdom, followed by Ke community. Minus these communities, all other cities, towns and villages immigrated from one place or the other to the present place which constituted the Kalabaris, otherwise called, the Kalabari kingdom that spreads into 3 LGAs viz: Asari-Toru, Akuku-Toru and Degema. The 3 biggest cities, Buguma, Abonnema and Bakana were one entity who immigrated from the Benin kingdom in the present Edo State in the 16th century as they were then speaking the Edo language unarguable or deniable likewise all the rest immigrants have their respective languages too. The only communities that were in these areas of the present 3 LGAs were: Angulama in the North and Ke in the South who were speaking the Kalabari language that compelled the immigrants changed their languages www.thenewswriterng.com/?p=17180 ....9 . Ilelema (corrupted from the original name Lolo ama) - a kalabari town that emigrated from Benin (called Iselema by the Kalabaris) to its present http://kengema.tripod.com/id27.html |
Tamakay:Exactly my problem with you ijaws, you think you are champions because your people were the most vocal and visible in the armed struggle. I'll have you know that the Niger delta militancy encompassed Edo's, Uhrobos, Ikweres, Kalabaris, Anangs, Efiks, Ibibios etc that's why it was so far reaching, stand alone and the ijaw weak link will show as for jazz etc, I dunno about who has the most, but I won't stake for you guys if I was to place it as a bet on bet naija.. |
GavelSlam:Really, I have discovered that most ijaw people (save for a small handful of educated ijaws) are troublesome and wasteful people with a nomad-like ancestry. Theirs is like a parasite that threatens to kill its host forgetting that, it was the magnanimity of the host that gave them a feeding ground in the first place. That you are accommodated to trade, farm or fish on a piece of land doesn't give you overlordship. That is how the Ijaws have laid claims to Aladja land in Udu, They have also attempted same in Itshekiri lands, claiming that the name "Warri" is similar to the ijaw word for "house", therefore Warri belongs to them, Same thing in Ilaje lands and I hear they are doing the same thing in Rivers. When any of their hosts protest, rather than bring documented proof of ownership, they'll begin to threaten that they are militants That they have numerical strength and the ijaw nation is one That they will mobilise their footsoldiers from ondo to Rivers to fight you Blood, War, bloodshed, blah, blah blah.... They forget some simple facts, The itsekiri is a small tribe, and their war with okere uhrobo or aladja uhrobo was not fought by the whole of uhrobo land nor did the whole of Yoruba land participate in their war with ilaje. They forget that Benin birthed the isoko tribe and the Uhrobo tribes, the itsekiri, ika, isselle Uku and Onitsha tribes were founded by Bini princes and still maintain strong ties with the Oba of Benin. They forget that the Oba of Benin is a blood cousin of the Ooni of Ife, The Alaafin of Oyo etc being descended from the legendary Oduduwa(Izieduwa). The ijaws have never taken on a foe as big as the royal stool of the most revered dynasty in the south south. I ask the ijaws a simple question, can they trace their Peres lineage of ancestral kings back to the last 200 years? In not, then they have no true kings Ijaws don't own Ughoton , ijaws don't own gele gele, Respect the State Govt , Respect the Courts judgment, Respect the Elders wisdom, they all can't be wrong! |

femi4:you'll fall long before a snake would loosen its grip due to your shaking. Two, I don't think lions find snakes palatable, even if the snake falls into the water, it'll out swim a crocodile any day. you are still stuck with an impatient lion waiting for you and a hungry croc... need I remind you lions climb trees though not as well as leopards, but they are still cats... best is just to wake up. |
Redmosquito:The Legend called RedMosquito of the Hades series, I salute you, where hast thou been art? |
Is this report true? If it is kudos to the police |
As far as i know detective writings, despite all the twists and turns, The devil isnt some minor character. he has to have motive.. 1. Who is young enough to outrun osi? 2. Who's big & strong enough to pummel ezinne? (i believe thats the name of the fire wood carrying girl described as tough) 3. Who's that person she'll see in the bushes at that late hour despite the known threat and yet still drop her guard? 4. Who's been revealed to have a criminal history? 5. Who is relatively new to the quiet community? 6. Who is it thats educated enof to know of a poison that mixes well with red wine? 7. Who is an eligible bachelor to write love letters that a young girl will want to keep as a secret from her friends. (we all know girls like to brag abt their relationships) so why didnt she? Mayb not to rouse jealousy 9. Who was at the last place osi last saw the letter? 10. Who was at the scene where osi was hidding in the bush? All this clues point to one person & one person alone............... The devil. |
rachealfst:The Third! The Third!! The Third!!! Its Spooky, The Hood And the Treeline Just Captures The Mystery. |
At least he is not looking older than his mates |
EHEM Souloho19, I Forgot To Commend You For The Poison In the wine, Bit. Another Good Stroke Of Story Telling. Thats also some great work. For me only a well read person like STEVENSON would know of such a potion. But i may be too hasty. Please Could You Drop Links To Your Previous Works ? |
*APPLAUSE! I must confess, when i started the piece, i read it half attentively and didnt go further than page 1 (i was expecting the story to trail off even though the start was good) Seeing it again on front page as story of the week made me revisit. So far its been a good story with just the suspense holding it All together but for me, that piece of extra research you did Up There in capturing Osi's 'Mini-Foundry' is the stuff Master story tellers only are capable of. I give you a standing ovation once again. |
