The Convener of Yoruba Mandate Group, Akogun Banji has reacted against those agitating for the Independence of the Yoruba nation.

In his words, Akogun Banji Ojo described the agitation as a clear distraction towards the 2023 general election as the region needs to start thinking strategically in order to have a stronghold in the 2023 general elections.

Akogun Banji Ojo stated that the Yoruba Nation needed to endorse a Yoruba candidature from the South West that will support the ideas and concerns of the region through dialogue which would also give room for restructuring towards the development of the Yoruba Nation.

"For the Yoruba Nation to take place, some processes would be needed for full implementation which is rather too rigorous.
Some include a United Nations referendum, about a 50million signatures to support the struggle, and probably ammunitions in the event of war breakout which might ultimately lead to famine.
These criteria are rather destructive hence the need for a working agenda for progress and development of the Yoruba Nation". Akogun Banji Ojo explained.

The Convener of Yoruba Mandate Group, Akogun Banji Ojo has lost her mother-in-law to the cold hands of death at the age of 68.

According to a press statement released by Olalekan Ajimoti, the chief of staff to the convener; The Late (Mrs) Ajibade Funmilayo Idowu nee Ogunsakin who was also a professional Nurse during her days from Itapa Ekiti, Ekiti State would begin her final journey to the world beyond starting from the 26th of March, 2021 with a wake-keep service at her residence.

She will then be committed to the mother earth on the 27th of March 2021 in her home town, Itapa Ekiti after which party and entertainment of guests will take place at Methodist Primary school, Itapa Ekiti.

She is survived by Children, Chief (Mrs) Modupe Banji Ojo, Opeyemi Ajibade, Femi Ajibade and Ronke Ajibade and grandchildren.

Expected guests at the occasion include Royal Leaders, Members of the Yoruba Mandate Group worldwide, Diamond Brothers club and G6 Reconciliation Group, London.

The chairmen of the burial committee are the Agbaka of Alagbaka Akure, HrM David Afolabi Obasuyi and Ebenezer Ajayi while Otunba Femi Soluade, the Director-General Yoruba mandate group will anchor the organization apex body.

I sincerely appreciate the prayers and condolences of numerous well-wishers, may Mamas’ soul rest peacefully with her maker, Akogun Banji Ojo added.

Raiserap with the real name Abimbola Abiodun Majeed is a talented Nigerian rapper born on December 25th, 1995.

He was born and raised in Ibadan, Oyo State capital but a native of Osun state.

The Convener of the Yoruba Mandate Group, Akogun Banji Ojo has said that only Yoruba Leaders who have the Vision of Late Chief M.K.O Abiola (GCFR) should celebrate Nigeria’s democracy day.

He revealed this in a democracy day message through his Chief of Staff, Olalekan Ajimoti to the Yoruba sons and daughters worldwide today 12th of June 2020 which marks 21 years of Nigeria’s Political and Governmental Freedom.

Reflecting on the HOPE’93 vision of the late Elder-Statesman and acclaimed winner of the 1993 General Election in Nigeria Chief M.K.O Abiola whose Memory is celebrated in Nigeria and Internationally in his democracy day message, Akogun Banji Ojo reiterated the fact that All Yoruba Leaders should only celebrate democracy day if they can identify with the dreams of HOPE’93 which was targeted towards building the Future of Nigeria, especially of the Yoruba people.

The Agendas which covers the area of Education, Agriculture, Poverty Alleviation, Affordable healthcare, Provision of infrastructure, and Good governance is a narrative that should be followed and monitored by the Nigerian Leaders.

It is no argument that late Chief MKO Abiola was the only presidential candidate in 1993 who has it in plans to harness the nation's wealth to cater to the future needs of the coming generations, a path that would ensure the eradication of poverty and guide the nation towards prosperity. Akogun Banji Ojo said.

According to him, The importance of the Yoruba leaders identifying with the vision of M.K.O Abiola is a narrative that will form the basis of openness, transparency, accountability, fairness, justice, equity, and obedience to the rule of law which will, in turn, engender more confidence from the people and ensure the continued development of the Yoruba race.

He added these visionary Contributions are necessary to guide the Yoruba’s towards prosperity and ensuring the development of socio-economic and political growth of the Yoruba race and promoting peace, human development, and social justice without prejudice

Delta State multibillionaire and Politician Chief Ned Nwoko has debunked the stories making the rounds on social media that his newly married wife and Nollywood actress Regina Daniels is his sixth wife.

Ned while reacting to the stories said Regina is actually his fifth and not sixth wife as being speculated.

A close friend of the couple who spoke to CKN News today on condition of anonymity quoted the successful businessman as saying that his wife is 22 and not 19 years as being speculated.

Rwanda's Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a ban on insulting the country's president.

The law which was enacted in 2018 states that any citizens who will be found guilty of humiliating, abusing or using derogatory language against the president will face a jail term of between five to seven years.


The apex court noted that insulting the Head of State was tantamount to insulting the public order which was a violation of human rights and freedom of expression.

Rwandan lawyer Richard Mugisha had challenged the new law arguing it curtailed the citizens' freedom of expression and ought to be repealed.
