The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos ( UNILAG ), Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe has urged Joy Nwanna, a former student, and blogger, Linda Ikeji, to appear before its sexual harassment panel.

The VC who made the appeal Monday at the Senate chambers said the appearance of the duo would help the Prof Chioma Agonmo-led panel to unravel Joy’s allegations of sexual harassment against Prof Segun Awonusi of the university’s English department.

He assured them of protection should they come forward.

In May, Linda Ikeji featured a post of semi-nude photographs of Awonusi sent by Nwanna who accused him and others in the university’s English department of sexual harassment.
Nwanna was a student of the University between 2012/2013 and 2015/2016 academic sessions.

There has been a large turnout of voters at Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state
capital as the Governorship election in the state takes place today.
Many including the elderly, nursing mothers, pregnant women and
youths this morning trooped out in their numbers to polling units.
Meanwhile, It has been revealed that political parties in Ekiti state are
doing all within their power to win the election as they have reportedly
given bribes to voters.

Many voters received cash and other gifts from politicians yesterday to
vote for particular candidates in today’s election.
Some beneficiaries of the largesse, who spoke to The Nations
Newspaper on condition of anonymity, said they got the sum of N4,000
each.
The Nation Newspaper correspondents, who were at the Nigeria Union
of Journalists (NUJ) office where newsmen were being accredited,
noticed that people were streaming in and out of the Old Governor’s
Office in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
Those seen going in and out of the premises were mostly youths as
well as middle-aged men and women.
While some ran into the premises apparently to get there before the
sharing ended, others walked briskly towards an inner building.
A woman was overheard raining curses on some people she claimed
collected money twice.

According to reports, the expectant mother published a story of a gay Nigerian poet who allegedly opened up about his suicide attempt and overdosed on a dug;”Aspirin”

It was gathered that in a bid to gain more traffic on her blog, she took the post from his personal facebook page where he penned down his thoughts, and published it along side his name and location.

Twitter users have come after Linda who is one of the A-list bloggers in Nigeria, for her insensitivity on the already escalated matter which could inadvertently cause the poet his life

A closer look at the post would reveal that she allowed and approved the comments of social media users beneath the post to enable the cyber bullying of the victim

While some Twitter uses are worried as to the reaction of the gay poet who already had suicidal thoughts before this sad occurrence, others are saying he might be attacked by an angry mob over his sexuality, however, irrespective of what the case might be, chances of the security of the victim remains slim especially as he is in a country such as Nigeria where people have zero tolerance for lesbians or homosexuals.

CNN reporter Christiane Amanpour and her husband of 20 years Jamie Rubin are getting a divorce.
People reports that 60-year-old Christiane and 58-year-old Jamie, who have an 18-year-old son, remain close friends as the divorce is an amicable one.
The two got married in August 1998 in Bracciano, Italy, after meeting a year earlier.

Christiane, 60, the host of CNN’s global affairs show “Amanpour,” lives in London and recently took over Charlie Rose’s slot after the anchorman was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women.

New upgrade by Dr. Sergi Santos, the creator of Samantha the sex dolls, shows that she can turn down sex if she’s not in the mood or if she feels disrespected.
