I experienced something recently while sourcing for supplier of a particular product, I received responses from different suppliers via alibaba sourcing platform but I note 3 suppliers, who do not have store on alibaba, because before I pay a supplier, I will love to research if I am not throwing money into waste bin. These suppliers don't have much online reputations, available information are presented on their various websites. well, I neglected 2 suppliers and discussed with one supplier for days but subsequently I researched and learnt that the supplier seems to be a scam because of this:

because a buyer was duped or scamed of 1000USD, so I back off some minutes to payment and forward the link via a mail to her and she replied by still protecting the company's image, though she tries to reconvince me but the company appears to be no longer deemed of credibility.

THAT SCENERIO PROMPTS THE QUESTION THIS QUES. WHAT IS THE BEST MEANS OF PAYING A COMPANY/SUPPLIER IN CHINA?

Because she said if I don't TRUST her or her company, I should trust PayPal?
Is PayPal the Best, or TT, Western Union, escrow, etc?

Please I HUMBLY seek for enlightenment from all Importers on NL.

use escrow jejely or PayPal. but if your instinct says scam alert no point paying cox d truth is I have never used escrow cox I've always done my research well enough so its always been PayPal and T/T

Experts in the house, can you please shed more lights on groupage shipping by sea. Please let us know the following:

1) Better shipping agents to deal with
2) Cost variation
3) Duration of shipping from when goods arrive in agent office in china
4) Potential issues that can arise.

if you tell me what is the volume of the order I can tell you who is still pocket friendly from my own little experience on sea shipping but if its just CBM tinx not that you are paying for at least a container then your options are quite limited
2. cost variation per CBM is around 150-180$/CBM & clearing 25-30k/CBM
3. most ship out weekly based on those I know & they promise you 5weeks maximum then with a week for clearing but if its not a container I advise you to let them handle shipping & clearing & add an extra 2weeks to the promised time cox sometimes tinx get funny
4. potential issues based on what? as far as your item is not contraband then can't really see an issue

the worst case scenario I've seen in d last few years was when it took six weeks for a shipping company to give me my normal air cargo

it all dpends on what quantity you are buying.
USA is good if you are buying bulk but if its unit then I advise you to take Dubai route
if you are just starting won't advice you to go China for phones & laptops except if you are not buying branded names like HP, dell, blackberry, Samsung etc except you are well experienced in the field and can at least repair
on the cheapest freight there are a lot of options on & off nairaland but I advise mobile phones cox of weight
it's cheaper to freight a Mobile phone and gain more to a laptop based on their weight from my own small experience oooo
the choice is yours

bro since the shipping insurance and tracking number are both for your safety and to avoid high bp for you then use both options with your flat rate

d delivery and clearing by their Nigerian agents sucks I.e it takes longer to get your goods than what is expected for normal air cargo though the boss said his main agent is outta town till month end was the reason but as for me its not really an excuse
