Akeredolu said: “Our administration, at inception, made a solemn pledge that the welfare of workers would be a priority.

“We promised to ensure that workers’ salaries would be paid regularly. We also assured the good people of this state on our determination not to allow political considerations to overwhelm good reasoning and sound judgment. You are all living witnesses to the fulfillment of these promises.

“We will encourage diligence, honesty and dedication to the service of the people. This is why, even in the face of dwindling resources, we have embarked on massive infrastructural rehabilitation and expansion at all fronts – education, health, road, agriculture, rural development, human capital development, among others

“We have also kept faith with empowering our people, especially the women and vulnerable. We shall continue in this wise.”

The Governor charged the new permanent secretaries to rededicate themselves to service and resist any overture which may compromise professionalism.
