Career › Re: How Do I Deal With A Staff That Resigns Abruptly? by infotainment(m): 5:13pm On Oct 20, 2017 |
AgamaHub: Hello Nairalanders, I have something that has been bothering me for some time now. I manage a hotel here in Nigeria, and the hotel is under renovation. I have 5staffs and just barely 5 functional rooms. Recently someone came to apply for the post of cleaner in the Hotel, I did an interview on her and asked her a lot of questions regarding the job, she said she could do the job. The next day she started work without waiting for a message from me. Few days into the work, other staffs started complaining that she isn't doing her duties, I called for a meeting and asked her if she was sure she could do this job, she said yes, I said ok. 1 week latter she says she can't continue the work, that I should pay her for the one she has worked. Now she is disturbing me for 2weeks that she worked here. What do I do? Just tell her to come by Month End for her part Salary |
Family › Re: Who's His True Next Of Kin by infotainment(m): 3:21pm On Sep 26, 2017*. Modified: 3:40pm On Sep 26, 2017 |
solace2013: This man died in my workplace one month ago. He has been having health challenges for some time and because of this, he has been having running battle with his wife for more than 5 years before his untimely death. The woman has allegedly been involved in extramarital affairs and would leave home for up to a whole week sometimes, leaving the medically challenged husband to be the one taking care of their 3 children. The man has about N2.5Million as his net contribution as at the day of his death in our cooperative society, N1.5M in his housing contribution scheme and more than N8million in contributory pension. One week after the man's death, his wife stormed our office with a letter from a lawyer, asking that all issues relating to her late husband's money in cooperative, housing and pension be resolved in her favour since under the law, she is the authentic next of kin as the children are minors. It was discovered that the man actually made his younger brother his next of kin four months before his death and did not write any will. The family members have also written and asked the office to stop any issue relating to the benefits of their brother for now and that they are interested in making sure those monies are used for the children and that the wife who already had a lover even before the death of her husband will spend the money and the children will lose out. The three children also came in company of the younger brother of the deceased to plead that their mother should not be paid their father's money since she is in the habit of leaving them at home without caring for them and that it was their late dad and the eldest child (a 15year old girl) who has been cooking their meals for the past three years. In this scenario, who is the authentic next of kin or who should be the beneficiary of this man's assets? However, the organization has directed all the correspondences to the Legal department to handle. (Thou am not a lawyer) The man's younger brother is the actual next of kin since he has named him so. this situation can be likened to an insurance policy where the beneficiary is specific. similar situation happened in my office some years back, where a man died and his gratuity was paid to his 2nd wife who bored him his only child because he changed his next of kin to her name. But his pension contribution was paid to the childless 1st wife because he did not change the next of kind to his 2nd wife before he died. |

chuksOG: I know that but what about DBAs and trademarks and brands?
There are many businesses owned by one company or under the roof of one company, are they all registered separately? You have to register each subsidiary as an entity, it is d share holding dat will show dat it is owned by the parent coy |

chuksOG: NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION
Should Subsidiaries Be Separately Registered As Companies?
Need Business Consultants And Professionals Who Have Answer To This:
If one wants to set up a corporation with different divisions(subsidiaries), does he have to register the divisions as individual companies (LLC)?
For instance, he calls the corporation "eXels Technologies (GROUP)" with the following divisions: eXels Network, eXels Electronics, eXels Multimedia etc
He wants each of the divisions to be independent of the others.
Now, the question is: - Does he have to register each division as a Limited Liability Company (ie eXels Networks Ltd, eXels Electronics Ltd etc)
- Or should he register the Group as say eXels Technolgies Ltd, and then register each division as a brand names.
Please let business consultants and professionals do justice to this.
Where are the Niaraland's Business gurus.
Please I need the solution to this puzzle, I hope you would'nt mind helping me out here.
Can someone just go to the point and explain this?
I have searched and searched but i have not been able to get any straight forward answer for this.
Other people replying on other posts/platforms clearly don't know how to go about this as their answers are off point or copy and paste.
Please someone should just give a very straight forward answer and not rubbish u are required by CAMA to register each company as an entity. |

Agriculture › Re: Hidden Truths About Catfish Business!!! by infotainment(m): 2:25pm On Jul 10, 2017 |
OnuohaClever: hmmm, finally i am here.... 389 pages!!! this is the knowledge base of fish farming. Robonski, exclesior, Ttalk, abx1 and co., may the Almoghty God continue to enrich you guys greatly for unveiling the "hidden secrets of catfish business".
My journey into this business started on the 22nd April 2017 when i was lured into the fish rearing business by a supposed friend (who was only interested in selling tarpaulin pond and expensive fingerlings @N50 naira to me). I was abandoned to my faith as i never saw him again because i guess he has achieved his objective which is to defraud me instead of mentoring me.
i was at cross roads as i had no prior experience until i stumbled on this thread on "the hidden truth of catfish business" on the 25th April 2017, as a good student i took my pen and paper, studied each page on the thread. i must say that as a newbie, i am already equipped with the best practices in catfish business.
Like i said earlier i stocked 1000 fingerlings (only to discover that it wasn't up 700 fingerlings because i was short changed as a result of not counting my fishes when it was delivered to me -- lesson learnt according to the Thread: Always count your fingerlings before you stock. During the first week, my fingerlings (60 of them) where dying in the first week until i deployed deep water aerator (having read about it in this thread) in the second week. The aerator is integrated into my 2Kva inverter system in my house. Oh least i forget, i have a backyard farm in my house at Abuja measuring 125 Feet by 50 Feet full fenced with borehole to be used for fish farming. i have been getting tips on best practices on fish farming with consulting anyone for the past two months. Now let me share my experience so far with you guys;
1. Most of my fishes attained 400g in exactly two months after stocking (remember i told i did not deploy aerator in the first week) 2. I lost about 60 fingerlings in the first week before deployment of aerator but after the deployment of the aerator i have only lost 1 fish in two moths 3. i measured the weight again of my fish after Two months and 1 week, guess what? they now weigh 500g. That is additional 100g in a week 4. i change my fish pond water every 7 days thus reducing the overhead cost of changing water every 3 days ( the aerators are on 24/7 every day of the month i don't think i can go with this business without a deep water aerator technology because with dissolved oxygen, your fishes grow faster and there will be no need for medication (as i not bought a single one). I have sorted my fishes into two different ponds and i have also stcked additional 2000 hybrid fingerlings and so far only three have died as they are in their second week. i will upload pictures later I really want to appreciate you guys for putting out this info for people like us to utilize. Robonski, i also want to join AQUABREN, please endeavour to furnish with details of how to become a member on my mail workwithclever@gmail.com Almighty God will continue to bless the works of thy hand. To Join AQUABREN pls call CHILANFARM on 07065874135 |
