Politics / Re: Ibrahim Shekarau Now Education Minister by Iniobon(m): 12:11pm On Jul 09, 2014
[quote author=Meringe]Education Ministry shouldn't be in the hands of politicians, it should be for tacticians and core educators. The most important sector of the society. Japan and china have no oil but the are one of the leading economy cos they invested in education. I thought GEJ would have made a good appointment on this but I'm disappointed.
Its not all about next election but our future as a country!!! Sir, we dont need a professor to be able to solve our educational problem. What we need is a technocrat.

Its common in Akwa Ibom state. In Abak local govt of Akwa Ibom state am told the workers have not been paid for over three months now. I learnt the allocation of the local govt is always shaved at the state level and remnant given to the local govt which is not enough to pay staff salaries.

dridowu: Pending the time police gives their reason for closure of d stadium i will support amaechi cos i dont c reason y they stop pple frm collecting their appointment letter
My brother the posting letters were not ready. It was only the posting that is online. Uptill now the posting in the other arm of the Teachers' Board (sssb) is not even online let alone the letters. That gathering was meant to be political, the way i see it.

Education / Re: A Thread For Biochemistry Students, Biochemists And Those Aspiring To Be One. by Iniobon(m): 12:22pm On Sep 05, 2013
Am a Biochemist but want to say i regret been one. I left school well equipped but there were no area to invest my skills after five years of graduation and the skills were not only gone but out- dated. Nigeria society does not support research cos that is the major area where a Biochemist can fit in. Someone mention working in research Lab But i want to let you know that those area are now professionalised. If you are not registered as a lab scientist, you cant work in a lab. And to be registered as a lab scientist you must have a cert in SLT. These leaves the Biochemist floating . You go to the food sector its same, they need professionals, you need be reg to be able to work with them. The pharmaceutical industries its same, accept you want to be in the marketing sector. However one sector of Biochemistry is still left untapped that is the forensic bch and Enzymology even though we are constrained by poor facilities. Every other sector or field of BCH, there are competitors from other fields. In all the study of Biochemistry in nigeria is more or less theoretic even at masters level and percentage of them end up with chalk.

The candidate assement list have one number for two people for example somebody still have 277 on the indigene list as u have on the non indigene list of candidate assessment list.

The only sensible post on this thread so far. Let the government fund the university adequately first and pay lecturers what the national assembly and executives earn, then we would see if they will sell handouts I beg to differ sir, any ASUU member that wants to earn as much as the National assembly member, let him resign his Lecturing appointment and contest for National assembly job. Why jealousing what politicians earn as though one is bar from going into politics. They should rather advocate for harmony in salary structure in all ministries. A B.SC in any ministry or agency should be paid same salary.

Politics / Re: Unoama Godswill Akpabio Of Akwa Ibom Spoke The gbagaun Again! by Iniobon(m): 5:17am On Jul 16, 2013
RedBenson: In the 1st National Widowhood summit going on in Uyo today, the wife of the state governor, Mrs Unoama Godswill Akpabio who was the representative of Governor Akpabio presented the speech to mark the day's occasion. In her speech, Mrs Akpabio made alot of gbagaun during the presentation but the most funniest which almost crumbled the entire gathering into an amusing laughter arena was when she wanted to pronounce the word 'today' but surprisingly, Mrs Akpabio hit the audience with 'tojay' which the participants only tried to pretend by not laughing out publicly.

May God continue to protect our leaders and thier wives with more
gbagaun in Jesus name. U can put that amen.
Can you address the public? Nobody was born with the power of speech articulation. The power to talk (address public) is inborned. When you acquired it, its different from when you are born with it. Even some presidents wld have to smoke weeds and drink before they can overcome stage freight.
