Congratulations Chukwuemekatehi: Firstly, I want to thank God for making this day a reality for me and thank you guys too for the many congratulations. Honestly I am short of words to explain this because it still look like a movie to me.
my story is long and I thank God it ended in praise after all.
this journey started in 2018 when I first nursed the plan of travelling out which was motivated by something that happened in my office. I started looking for ways to Japa and stumbled on nairaland. there, I met a guy Joe and sent him a message and luckily he responded and agreed to help me get admission to conestoga college, which he did but it was a college diploma.
I was happy and started making plans to apply for visa and in November 2018, I applied for Visa. When my biometrics instruction letter came, I discovered that I wrongly imputed my Country of Origin as Algeria and I felt so bad. I asked on Nairaland and was told to send an updated IMM1249 form and I did and it was corrected.
December 2018, the Visas was rejected and i felt so bad and started looking for ways to apply for another school. it was then I met Frank Roben and I started chatting with him. He told me there was no career progression and that I needed to apply for a program that shows progression. I started looking for schools and finally stumbled on Humber college PGC in Business Management. I applied and was given admission and the visa processing preparations began.
I applied for my visa on April 17 2019 and the wait began. To cut the whole story short, I was refused on July 13th 2019.
I got tired of the whole process and a friend told me about the express entry and I decided to focus on that and leave them with their wahala.
I evaluated my credentials, and started preparation for Ielts and in January 2020, I took my first ielts and had overall 7.5 but I needed 8.5 to be on 485. I felt so bad and decided to write again. In February 2020 I wrote the second and it was 7.5 too. This was how I decided to write back to back and on the 10th attempt, I had 8.5 and was so happy.
I updated my profile and few days after, Vivid became intense and ITA was put on hold. ( see me see village people, but we moveeeee)
I continued waiting for ITA and in January, I added a year and lost about 5 points. omo, e be like say this journey no be for me. the thought of marriage come dey enter my head. at least make I marry know say na that one I achieve. but mercy said no.
in 2021, I decided to give study route another shot and this time I no go near Ontario. lol
I started looking for schools and channeled my search to NB and MB although I applied and got admission at Seneca and centennial but these were back up plan.
Finally I saw this school in Winnipeg and I contacted them. Their application process was bomb because u must send transcript directly from school and application fee was 190Cad. Omo, I decided to try and see what happens. I applied and it took my school 4 months to send transcript after several greasing of palm and pleas. finally they gave me admission and I paid the 5k Cad deposit.
I started arranging documents for my application and was asking many questions. I wrote my SOP and one babe for our Manitoba group gave me clue on how to write a separate LOE for my Finance.
I had lump sums and was worried about how to address it, I met someone who gave me clue on how he did his. and it was superb.
I finally submitted my application on 28November and the wait started. one, two, three months gone and my application was without form and void while people were getting eligibility and Ghost update, me no even see spirit talk of Ghost(lol)
I paid another part tuition and sent the receipt and yet nothing. April came and my school sent me a mail to confirm if I am resuming in may and defer (may 2023 because my program has only 1 intake every year) if I am not or start online.
Omo I didn't respond, I intensified prayers and I was always ranting to frnds
April 30 and no PPR and eligibility never even start for my profile and it was then I made up my mind to start online(if I perish, I perish) I ordered for my GCMS note which came back empty. info sharing complete, medical passed, background check:complete.
I didn't want to tell anyone so nobody will tell me not to. I did my orientation on 3 and 4 may and lectures started 5th may. it wasnt funny because my program was evening (6 to 9pm CA time) which is 12 to 3 am our time but na me sign am, so I must do am.
I updated IRCC bout this and they sent me a message that my application is under review. I decided not to send another mail. na their country, any thing they wan do, make them do.
I left them and didn't even check my application for one week. on 9th may, I ordered for my second notes and was waiting for to come to know what is happening. I logged in after 1week on 19th May, and discovered that my eligibility has started and I even had a ghost update.
I intensified prayers, strted fast on and was also doing 12am prayers. This afternoon, I logged into my mail and omo I died I was shaking as I speedily logged into my Gckey. it was then It dawned on me that My Canada dream is now a reality.
May God bless all of you.

I had already received my offer from the University of Ottawa and it was a better option given the quality of educational activities peluscoten: Please who applied for UNB MBA and has gotten admission or still awaiting admission for fall 2022 |

Congratulations!! JayEjabz: Yay!! Pls guys pop champagne for me tonight! God is too faithful to fail!!! I am here to testify. Second Time applicant!! First application was refused in August 2021 based on personal assets and financial status.
*2nd Application New portal* Applied April 7th 2022 Eligibility April 19th, 2022 Medical request April 23rd 2022 Medicals updated April 30th 2022 PPR: 16th May 2022 School: Memorial University of Newfoundland Course: MA Political Science
BACKGROUND I started this journey in 2020 and learnt everything on my own with help from my amazing friends, some I met here on nairaland, the admission I got was so expensive and the Vo didn't think it was a reasonable expense and honestly I agree I couldn't comfortably afford that tuition...so I just gave up because I was afraid of starting all over trying to get admission again and stuff but in Jan this year I got encouraged again and decided to apply to Memorial it was a late application and I was lucky.... I got entrance scholarship too and it was cheaper/affordable. My fear was that my POF was now half of what I submitted earlier and also I wasn't employed just doing little business but God favored me regardless.
This time I included landed properties in my name for personal assets and paid my half tuition cos the other half was covered by the entrance scholarship and added my brother a police officer as a co sponsor to cover finances and wrote a convincing letter of explanation.
* Documents submitted*
1. Letter of Admission 2. Tuition Receipt through webform 3. Birth Certificate 4.Passport Bio data page 5. family picture (parents, wedding pix and convocation pix) 6. Letter of Explanation 7. International passport bio data page 2 for sponsors, work ID cards, Commission Letters and Promotion letters 19. Landed property documents in my name 20 reference letters from former jobs and internships
Its the Lords doing and it is marvelous. I wish you all a rain of PPR and please don't ever give up on ur application..It gets harder sometimes before it gets easy, last year I waited almost 5mnths and got a rejection now I got an approval in 1mnth 9days.
Special thanks to my darling husband for every support..I can't even name them....to my brother for jumping in at the last minute and providing all the needed documents. Special thanks to my dear friends Mike Alara of Toronto , Victor of Winnipeg and Ezekiel of Ottawa. Thank you guys for everything, your support and encouragements kept me going. Cheers and God bless nairaland |

BACKGROUND I started following this thread In 2018,that time ehn refusal rate was high,And processing time na die!.I got discouraged,I decided to try visiting visa and was denied twice, then I gave up on Canada.Last year I decided it was time to Japa.Masters in UK was the plan I was already in the process when i realized I could actually just try Canada first.I immediately came back and started reading this thread,I contacted one of your favorites here to handle my application but unfortunately I was refused.I dusted myself up,encouraged myself by myself immediately based on knowledge gathered here,I did my thing myself this time, wrote a New SOP(when Gcms came, they said my study plan was poorly documented and vague!),if only VO knew how much I paid e no go talk that rubbish…lol.Well I gathered all the missing documents,I knew could address the concerns and refired.
What I did differently 1. I included my CV(I had seen people get PPR without submitting it,so I didn’t add it in the first app). 2. letter of introduction stating my position and role as a Director (in hubby’s company). 3. Reference letter from past employer 4. Letter of introduction from my personal business 5. Bank Reference letter from my personal business account. 6. Invoices/ business receipts 7. Business card 8. NOTE: Na God dey give PPR in all. There is nothing like too much documents, just ensure it’s relevant to prove your case,I added only the basics in the first application and I thought my app was well packaged but basics didn’t work for me,even the SOP by a guru who handled my app from start to finish didn’t cut it.Imagine all the extras I needed to prove my case, things that I never even attached much importance to,when I read timelines of people who added all these documents,I felt like they were doing the most but see me,I ended in those same shoes. To add,one of my Gcms notes, also came in today. Best wishes to everyone praying and believing God for PPR …May the Same joy locate you. |

Hello Everyone,
I have been reading this blog for sometime now and I just want to thank everyone answering queries as well as those asking. Questions and responses have been very informative.
So sorry for the LOOONGGG POST!
I am about to apply for my study permit this April. I received admission to an EMBA program with a tuition of $75,000 CAD. My background is actuarial science (but not ffg that route) but I have been leading large teams for 6 years now. I have compiled the ffg documents.
• House Deed of Assignment & Contract of sale (Proof of ties to home country) ₦66,000,000.00 • My FD deposit Investment Letter, Investment Certificates for the past 3 year (2 old certificates and 1 certificate for investment of funds from April 2022 - June 2022 ) ₦47,682,510.44 • Valuation of Landed Asset, Land Asset Ownership document (Proof of ties to home country) ₦30,000,000.00 • Bank Statements showing yearly rental income &Lease agreement with tenant(secondary POF) ₦3,120,000.00 • Bank Statements ₦2,680,000.00 • Letter from pension & Statement from pension (secondary POF for 4 months) ₦2,000,000.00 • Life Insurance Fund Confirmation ₦710,000.00 • Tuition confirmation from school CAD 36,101.00 • GIC Certificate CAD 12,138.00 • Letter of Acceptance • Gift Deed from mother • Sworn Affidavit Statutory declaration of Funds • Letter of Employment, Increase of Salary and 3month pay slip • Proof of Travel history • Telex for school fees payment (is this needed?) • Letter of Explanation • Resume • IELTS (Band 9) • Graduate Certificate & Transcript • Birth Certificate relationship with mum • Get Leadership training certificates
The 4 concerns I have is as follows 1, Total amount of funds available is about 194,000 CAD as primary proof of funds. However, Is having the funds in the FD okay to present?
2. During the payment of the tuition I changed naira to dollar from funds in my investment at the parallel market, then I asked a friend to deposit the money into my dollar acc which he did but used his name to pay the money in at 2 seperate times. My remarks when transfering the funds to the parallel operator stated the dollar quivalent. Do I have to explain this scenario in my LOE? My friend has done a statutory declaration (notarized) that the funds is not his own. Is that fine? He is okay to submit his identification too
3. I got refused to spain about 5 yrs ago for a tourist visa. it was a supposed to be a 3 day vacation. I have gone to many other countries after that UK (3) , seychelles, Dubai, Kenya etc. I have attached my travel history. Do i need to explain this refusal in my LOE even though I have declared it.
4. I know i can do my medicals after submission but do I have to wait for IRCC to make a medical request before i book an appointment to go for the medicals or I can book after submission and go for it without a request for medicals? I am really not clear on this part. |
