@op i have been using stanbic for payment of my facebook ads and they normally debit the remaing balance of the dollar rate since facebook dollar xchange rate is $1/199.50.

recently, my facebook ads failed on stanbic and firstbank card i later found out is an issue of DCC.i stumbled on this thread when i was looking for solution.also upon seeing ur complain and other complains as well, i complain to facebook that other advertisers in my country are experiencing this issue as a result this.

i was equally exchanging mail with facebook as well to proffer solution.according to them they received "CC delined" as error message while trying to charge all the cards added.

i found solution on gurubest.com which is to pay using dollar mastercard obtainable in any bank. as i do not have 2 referee to open a dorm acct, i narrowed my search to banks that offer prepaid USD card, i found only 2 but none has the card at the moment. they complained of low patronage .

I kept on pleading with facebook to give me an alternative or accept my suggestion to pay up my outstanding payment.at a point they told me that they dont have solution for me. I breakdown but not completely,to me losing an acct with over 20k likes is unbearable when considering my efforts.

Lo and behold, my joy knew no bound when in the process of trying to obtain USD card, i received an email from facebook that my acct has been reinstated and considering the amount spent so far that my sins have been forgiving lols meaning, i will not pay a dime and i should change my currency to USD.if this happen again, their favour will not be repeated. now i am running a USD acct.

I really dont want to put any business down. But my first experience is not good. I received my goods after 3 months they confirmed shipment(NB: receiving date is different from shipping date).

And when i finally did., the goods was enroute to Aba instead of Lagos. Although they compensate me by reducing the CBM.

This shipping company that i used now, shipped goods to them for the first time hoping to received in a months time.but never did. Contacted their office in china for about 1 week yet they claimed they have search all their wayhouse but my goods is not there.

The issue was finally resolved with the aid of a family friend .on his instruction all their warehouse were ransacked lo and behold it was dump in their 4th warehouse in baiyun , later, it was loaded and shipped after 5 days

I received it exactly on the 35th day after shipment. At times it varies .

Sometimes i received goods that arrive recently first before other ones that are already with them . I assume maybe it is cause of space in the container.

Recently , i received 0.22 CBM of goods that arrived lately against 4CBM that arrived a day before.

For now, i normally received my goods here within 35 days to 45days.

@all kindly do not request for the shipping coy i used as their method of receiving goods is a bit somehow. Secondly, they sometimes change staff and you need to know one of their staff to update you and send waybill details of your goods prior to loading and shipment., !as i do not want to turn to their unpaid customer care staff here.

Personally, I have used them countless times for normal shipping .takes them not less than 7 to 10 days to deliver. Now i resort to sea shipping to cut cost.

Anyone can take advantage of this promo now. They are not new to some peeps here.

DealDey Explains Why Layoffs Were Necessary


Nigerian deals site, DealDey has laid off some staffers in Lagos, in what the company co-MD, Etop Ikpe is calling a “headcount reduction.”

Techmoran, citing sources familiar with the matter first reported that more than 60 percent of DealDey’s staffers were affected by the layoffs.

“The reports are not entirely true but I can confirm that we have reduced our headcount in certain departments of our business, to meet our current organizational objectives,” Etop told TechCabal.

Etop is co-MD along with Kehinde Oriola. Both run the company now, after the founding CEO left in 2013 to focus on managing Konga.com.

Etop did not confirm how many staffers were affected. But he did say which departments were affected – warehousing and logistics.

We know that DealDey has been morphing for a while. While it started off as a Groupon-style daily deals website, it simply posts deals these days.

DealDey, Etop says, is focused on enhancing merchant – customer engagement on it’s three platforms; DealDey, lyf.ng and Promohub.

“This means we are reducing our involvement in order fulfilment and logistics. We have created a robust network of order fulfilment partners and we are continually growing that network to support efficient product delivery through our platform,” Etop says.

This is reason for the lay offs. Etop adds that the plan is to have the laid off staffers absorbed directly into the delivery network, or moved to work with partner third party logistics providers.

DealDey (as well as its two sister-outfits), will now fulfill by working with third party logistics providers. “We aim to reduce our average delivery time by 70%,” Etop says. “We have currently seen a 50% reduction in the last 3 weeks.”

They are also building out their technology, and strengthening the engineering team ahead of the blitz end-of-the-year shopping. The team has grown from four to twenty in the past few months, according to Etop.

After a follow-on investment from Kinnevik in February 2015, we began to see other parts of the company’s evolution gameplan, even though where the company was headed as an entity was not immediately obvious. The company launched the local business directory, Lfy.ng (a similar service to Vconnect which had since pivoted into a marketplace) and Promohub, a website, much like what DealDey currently is, that posts ongoing promotions.

“Long term, our goal is to build our hyperlocal deals marketplace, lyf.ng, and Promohub.ng ensuring that features are continuously responsive, consumer focused and deeply location driven,” Etop says.
