I've sold a few. But honestly, I have been raising birds for a decade now, mostly Agric chickens, this thing with local chickens is like a pet project for me. I see this thing I do here (posting about them) as a journal that people can learn from in the future, whether it is someone trying to raise local chickens next year or in 2075.

So in a nutshell, my reward is knowing that someone in the future will learn from my experience raising Local Chickens, and know how to avoid the mistakes I made. I'm a very busy person (I'm into multiple businesses for a living) and the reason why I can do this is because even if I don't tend to the chickens for a couple of days, they will be fine. And that's one of the reasons why i'm skeptical about crossbreeding them with Noilers. I don't know how self reliant and strong those crossbreeds will be.
Thanks for this thread. It's being insightful. Being following from day 1. This my first comment ever.

I let the 2 male Noilers out this evening.

They started chasing the local hens around, and the local Rooster had to show them who the boss is. Eventhough they're bigger than him, he chased both of them off like they were kids cheesy

They eventually went to visit their female Noilers cheesy
Good job you are doing bro.

Please if a male noiler crossbreds with a local. What's the percentage the chick will come out as noilers and will they still take 4 months to reach marketsize (if given the proper feed regimen)

Vice versa the case. If a local cock crossbreds with a female noilers. What's the percentage the chick will come out as noilers and will they still take 4 months to reach marketsize (if given the proper feed regimen)

Your field looks great.

I planted corn about 3 weeks ago on a plot of land I own.pls what herbicides do you recommend. Is it too late to apply now that the plants are three weeks old?

Also will it be ok to spray the herbicides along side pesticides? I am seeing army worms and other insects already on the young plants. If so what pesticides will you recommend?

By the way, I have cassava on the farm too.

Investment5 Simple Steps To Take To Get Your Shares Or Unclaimed Dividends Today. by internetpo(op): 6:40pm On Dec 11, 2024
Good day great investors. Hope you are doing fantastic?

Over the last several years I have been hustling to get my dad's shares and dividends in a fast moving multinational conglomerate company. And by God's grace after series of back and forth with the registrar and the company itself, I was able to get the accumulated dividend payments.

It didnt amount to much just 15,000 Nigerian Naira but I also plan to sell off the shares. Which is almost at triple the amount right now, that's like 45k or so additional income, when we sell it.

Was also able to help my brother get his transcorp shares too. Dividend was nothing to write home about but the share price has risen to more than 40naira per share... You know what that means bah?

The experience has taught me a lot. If you are having issues trying to get your shares or dividends or that of your loved ones, Here are some suggested steps you should take.

1. First go to https://sec.gov.ng/non-mandated/ and search with your names, check if your shares are listed and with which registrar.

2. Get the contact info of the registrar and send them a mail, introducing yourself and asking for an account statement of unclaimed dividends. (Your registrar might ask for some ID documents or other info before they send you this statement). Be patient, the process might be slow and frustrating here.

3. While you await the account statement. Go online and Check the share price of your holdings. This site can be of help to you https://africanfinancials.com/. Just type the name of the listed company and check their current price. You can also check the share price change history too, for fun. Personally I felt like pursuing my late dad's share because the share price had risen dramatically and thus it was worth the stress. if you feel the price is low and you wont gain anything substantial from the dividends or selling off the stocks, good and fine you can give up the chase.

4. Your registrar will require you to fill a mandate form. Keep your BVN details and other ID documents handy. You will be charged N200 - 400 for processing the mandate and within a few days your dividend will be in your possession.

5. Open a stockbroker account, transfer the shares and get them to sell it for you. Once they sell it withdraw your money and celebrate the effort.

If you come across any issues with steps 4 or 5. Send me a message [me @ francisOkaformbah.com - email subject line should be - Shares wahala] Don't bother contacting me if you haven't done 1 - 3 above and be ready to pay a small consultation fee o 'cos these people show me pepper and will still do when I try helping you with yours.

Good luck! Let's make that Christmas money!

Why not send them a message then? First ask how much unclaimed dividends you have to know if its worthwhile to pursue this. Also you can sell off the shares too even if the dividend isnt worth it. as long as the share price has appreciated.

NetbizBoss:
Please I need advice from people that knows about shares.
My Dad bought about 1050 units of Transcorp share in 2013. He lost the certificate so he forget about the shares.
Until the second quarter of this year when someone told us about this link to apply for unclaimed dividends.

https://sec.gov.ng/non-mandated/

My Dad was sick and hospitalized so we help him filled the form online and he signed his signature. After much suffering the share register "African Prudential PLC" finally paid
The following amount into my father's account as the share Dividends per year

2013-N45 (Forty five Naira only)
2014-N54 (Fifty four Naira only)

2015 and 2016 where omitted
2017- N18.9
2018- N28.35
2019- N9.45
2020- N9.45
2021- N18. 9
2022- N47. 25
2023-N94.5
2024- N10. 5

Please Mode help me post this thing on front page to get advise from people. Thank you.
Finally after 7years I was also able to get control of my Dad's shares and dividends (payment was just made last week.. nothing much just 15k But the fact that I can now manage or sell the shares each is now worth NGN21 is a plus. And its a popular FMCG company.

Was also able to help my younger brother with his Transcorp shares too. Dividend was poor but atleast we can sell it off now.

@ NetbizBoss How far? is your dad willing to sell his transcorp shares. I think its worth N40 per share now. and that's something tangible. for an investment he bought less than 10k

Nairaland GeneralRe: Guidelines To Have A Better 2024 by internetpo(m): 9:40am On Jan 12, 2024
Great write up. Permit me to use it

Kalatium:
With another year almost gone, it’s time to reflect on what you accomplished and what you couldn’t and what to do better in the upcoming year.

If you’re like any other ambitious man out there, you would probably have a lot of regrets on the opportunities missed and things you wish you had done better.

Before you start planning yet another new
year’s resolution, let this guidelines help you make next year even better.

1. TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY
Assume that you have full control over everything that matters in your life. No more excuses, no more blaming, no more complaining about how the world is against you.

It’s not easy, but it’s quite simple: change yourself and your environment to suit your needs.

Stop trying to change what you can’t
and accept them, and adapt to your situation as necessary. If you want a better life, hold yourself totally responsible.

2. SPEND LESS TIME ON POLITICS
I realized this more this year than ever before: people spend way too much time reading and talking about politics instead of doing things that bring value.

People either go on the Internet to complain and whine about what’s happening around the world that they don’t like, or, boast about how the world will be better because X happened or if only their vision for a better society came true.

All this political nonsense has become no different from women gossiping about celebrities’ lives or boring people talking about their favorite television shows as if any of it is real.

Another thing that runs hand in hand with complaining is arguing. Arguing is a dumb waste of time that gets you riled up for no reason. It just keeps you busy not really doing anything tangible.

If you value your time, don’t do it. And always remember: Action > Words.

So, if you want next year to be better for your life, either: take active part in making political change (online activism doesn’t count), or, don’t read anything and don’t say anything about politics and focus on yourself.

Put more simply: Do something about it or stop reacting.

3. PRACTICE GRATITUDE
No matter what you may accomplish in the future, no matter how much of what you think will make you happy, your level of happiness in the future will likely stay the same.

Most people don’t realize how great they already have it until they lose it. Instead of waiting for that eventuality, try to appreciate
what you already have by practicing gratitude. I know it’s not easy if you’re ambitious, but try.

4. SYSTEM OVER GOALS
Some of you may disagree, but I believe having vague goals with solid system is better than having solid goals with vague plans.

Goals often change and evolve over time as you gain more life experience, but the path towards accomplishment is usually solid and requires your dedication.

So, if you’re planning to create another new year’s resolution that looks more like a wish list of things you want, scrap it and look
for ways to engineer your lifestyle by planning a system for development instead.
I have written a book now published on Amazon on how to use systems to accomplish your goals.

5. CULTIVATE DISCIPLINE
You’re a slave to your circumstances and weaknesses until you have the necessary discipline to be steadfast.

My biggest regrets of this year happened because stress and emotional disturbance destroyed my productivity
and mental frame.

I lost countless hours that could have been put to work by being wavered by mere feelilngs. If you want to do anything better next year, learn to cultivate discipline first and foremost.

6. ALWAYS DO SOMETHING WORTH WHILE
I’ve noticed that all the guilt I have about having wasted my valuable time comes down to the fact that I gained no lasting value out of it.

For example, I feel bad about all the time that I wasted watching unnecessary movies because I gained nothing worthwhile out of them, only momentary pleasure.

On the other hand, I have no guilt associated with all the time I spent working out or learning something valuable—even when I failed and even if they were painful—because what I gained from them still stays with me.

The key to having a better life is to do what will benefit you over time with and not be caught up by instant gratification that is usually short lived. Aim long-term and learn to enjoy the process.

7. RENEW YOURSELF
It’s easy to get stuck in a loop in our modern world. If you feel bored or unmotivated, try something completely different to shock yourself alive.

Self development is not always about adding you also need to substract.
Sometimes, it’s more important to cut out the bad activities than to do something good.
If you’re serious about making your life better, the time is now to stop the thing that’s holding you back. Shed the old you to renew yourself.

8. BE CONTENT
By far the most important lesson I learned this year was that nothing matters if you’re not content. Sure, you could potentially devote yourself to a higher meaning or purpose to forget about how brief and insignificant your life is in the grand scheme of things, but why not do it in a position of contentment?

Why live a life of perpetual frustration and longing where you constantly chase things that you think will satisfy you?

Whatever you want in life, they will not go away just because you decide to be content with where you are now. In fact, contentment may even help you achieve your goals better as you won’t be as outcome-oriented, allowing you to focus more on the process instead. No amount of money, sex, and “success” is worth grinding your life away.

9. GET REGULAR SLEEP
As someone who gets completely derailed if sleep is delayed by an hour or if I have to wake up earlier than usual, I don’t know how others manage to function with irregular sleep patterns.

Sleep is a vital aspect of your health and you should aim to prioritize it as much as exercise and diet.

10. THERE IS ALWAYS A SECOND CHANCE
I see a year as a microcosm of life. You make plans, you have expectations, but things unfold in ways you didn’t expect at all.

My principle in life is to expect the best but always prepare for the worst. As Mike Tyson will say, " Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face."

Just because your plans didn't work out due to the vicissitudes of life doesn't mean you give up on your goals and life in general.

Unlike the one life we have, you get another year, another chance to do better. We shouldn’t take such an opportunity so lightly.

Plan your 2024 well, 2023 is gone.

Make use of your time wisely for at the end of it all, you will look back and reflect on what has come to pass and realize just how fast time goes by.
