grin CiV NCOs that protested salaries 2yrs back would feel honored that you think highly of them
The Liberians too, very honored
The Malians? Very honored too
As much as I know, only Senegal & CIV & (formerly guinea) has comparable NCOs (Welfare, training etc) to us. This country never worse reach this one abeg

Armed Forces (especially for grunts) salary across continents are shitty & I wish it were not so but this statement of yours is quite a fable
Oops!! I am really sorry I forgot there is a country called LIBERIA in W.Africa. sorry for that please. But still news of embezzlement of OPS ALLOWANCE should be addressed. Most SOLDIERs can't work well under this conditions. As for me, I think I will weep and become Fed up.

Ya, I know it sound so damn crazy. But Compared to other W. Africa nations, NA NCOs receive a tip of their iceberg.

How do you know the salaries of cameroonian soldiers huh And for you to compare Na welfare with BHTs that survive in jungle camps, that’s just crazy talk.
No sir, it is not crazy talk at all. It is not. During the tussle for Bakassi, I heard from the horse's mouth why NA soldiers where running to cameroon side because of this same welfare issue. And since that time I am sure by now they would have improved on their personnel's welfare, we too have but it is little compared to what is on thie side. Then as for BHT I don't want to start mention too much because I may sound drunk and stupid. But I know there are paid in dollars and many more.

Speaking from the perspective of a young military enthusiast , I THINK THE NIGERIA ARMY NEEDS TO STEP UP ON:

Troops Welfare and TREATMENT in the NCO cadre.
I think this dampens morale, causes grumbling, neglect, I dont care attitudes etc. I don't think BH fighters are usually maltreated and their welfare well taken care of.
If Cameroon can pay its soldiers very much higher than that of the NA, then I think a presidential review need to take place.

OPERATION YANCIN TAFKI: BOKO HARAM LEADERSHIP OVERWHELMED AND IN DISARRAY

As an aftermath of sustained air and land operations of the ongoing Operation YANCIN TAFKI, information from captured and defected Boko Haram fighters indicates that the leadership of Boko Haram terror network has been overwhelmed and are currently in disarray. The former fighters who are receiving humane attention further divulged that morale and fighting spirit of Boko Haram fighters is very low as a result of growing insecurity and the inability to replenish stranded fighters in the islands with food, medicine and ammunition.

It would be recalled that an integral part of Operation YANCIN TAFKI has been a series of well coordinated day and night Human Intelligence as well as Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions conducted by the Air Forces of the Lake Chad Basin countries; Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria, leading to successful and devastating air interdictions which have destroyed Boko Haram logistic facilities and fighters in TUMBUM GINI, ABADAM, AREGE, TUMBUN REGO and DAGAYA environs between 7 and 11 March 2019 . Additionally, In the last 4 weeks of the Operation, about 70 Boko vehicles; mostly Gun Trucks, facilities; such as fuel dumps, weapons and ammunition have been destroyed.

Furthermore, since the commencement of OPERATION YACIN TAFKI several terrorists have surrendered while others are battle - weary and have indicated interest to surrender. Morale of fighters is at its lowest, while desperation has also set in, leading to intrigues and in-fighting. Reliable sources say internal crisis led to change of Boko Haram leadership on 3 March 2019, it could be recalled that the Islamic State West Africa Province announced the sack of the former Boko Haram Chief, Abu Mus'ab AL Barnawi and the appointment of Abu Abdullahi Ibn Umar AL Barnawi.

The frequent execution of Boko Haram Commanders and fighters which have been observed in the past few months as well as the recent replacement of its leadership are clear indications of the effectiveness of recent past and ongoing OPERATION YACIN TAFKI. The Multinational Joint Task Force is therefore poised to sustain current operations until Boko Haram capitulates and its leadership brought to justice.

Please, disseminate this information to the general public.

Before now we've been canvassing for an upgrade in firepower of MOPOLs by adding GPMG. The problem now is that they have a bad precedence of indiscipline in all things.
MOPOLS will start seeing themselves as equals with military, and Start looking for trouble. sad

This NAF guys wan kuku collect infantry work from NA..
But truth be told, Air Marshal Sadique is the only shining star amongst the Chiefs. It wouldn't be out of place to make this man the Chief of Defence staff, the man is terribly good. The way NAF is investing in their personnel is something else even before this current CAS capacity training has always being top notch. Small thing them don knack their personnel for courses abroad even NCOs, but same cannot be said of the NA. Infact NCOs in Airforce travel for courses abroad more than NA's officers talkmore of NCOs..
Surely NA will get it right someday. As for Navy those once are yahoo soldiers kawaii!! na them dey enjoy force work pass, save for their special forces .
The NAF under the leadership of Air Marshall Sadique is experiencing a speedy growth. The achievements since his attainment as CAS is laudable and breathtaking. Everything is visible, touchable. I am not just saying this because I am one of the applicants of the on going recruitment but because his good deeds is very much open. I wish he will continue when I join.

being an illiterate doesn't make one intelligent nor rugged. Being educated guaranties you can execute some mental gymnastics and it doesn't make you soft at all.
I think the main problem lies in the training doctrine. Even if a PHd holder passes through depot, he will start thinking like animal which is depot training standard.
So I don't think Bsc/BA is 100% = to being educated as it concerns some Nigerian graduate.
If you see an SSCE holder who is SHARP and a patroitic fast learner, take him, with the right training I think performance will be A+

Personally, I think a B.Sc. or HND(at worst OND) should be prerequisite for recruitment into the military. A large proportion of the Nigerian armed forces is made up of uneducated or under-educated people. Recruitment is skewed to favour some sections of the country, how then can we expect a professional body?.

I agree with you, quality should be a priority. Only a person who has passed through the semi-regimented process that the Nigerian educational system provides(Primary, Secondary and Tertiary) will be able to easily retain military training and discipline.
If you start from bsc then what rank will there start from? A secondary school certificate holder having received basic education is smart enough and sharp enough to undergo military training and come out top notch. Bsc certificate can't make you smart or wise or make you a quick learner. All the Army has to do is look for intelligent yet RUGGED persons during screenings

The main problem that is prolonging this offensive is GREED in the red necks circle. I don't think Our president questions our Service chiefs or maybe he knows naught about what is going on. Only CAS is outstandingly hardworking and dedicated.
If this GREED and TRIBALISM which houses sabotaging is bulldozed out of the military then I think under 3 months, little or nothing will be heard of BHT.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by invincible007(m): 10:49am On Jan 01, 2019
Another point is
• The type of people recruited into the ARMY is quite a problem. Most of them are not SHARP AND SMART, I mean quick thinkers, fast learners, brilliant minds and dedicated hearts. I think our recruitment process shouldn't be all about who has the money to bribe his way in. So I think our Army lacks soldiers with in born fighting spirit. A complete fighter. grin
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by invincible007(m): 10:38am On Jan 01, 2019
I think the things the Nigerian Military is Lacking are
•LOW MORALED TROOPS in the cases of welfare(imagine a PVT in the Army still receiving 48k, I feel like crying) OP allowance can reach 7 months not being paid, I don't know if NA is cursed with corruption because such cases can NEVER be experienced in the NAVY or AIR FORCE. Also maltreatment from officers who think there are gods always intimidating other ranks wishing them no bright future, how will you perform well when your superior openly declare that other ranks have no future in the Army. Unwarranted Harassments, calling other ranks degrading names and so much more is enough to not only dampen but kill troops morale totally. Its sad that these ills are rampant in only in the Army but very little or no cases of such into NAVY|AIR FORCE.

Or how about sending like a text of your name, state, candidate name and party and PVC's CARD S/N. Once THAT PVC card S/N number has been sent, you can't send again and that card is already used and discarded till next election. That way the PVC will still be useful and effective. It. Only means you won't have to come out to vote and your phone number even if you have 100sims will not be important unless you have 100pvc

I heard they seldom collect non commission officers for dssc...how true is that ?
Very True, many female Generals in the army were recruits. Person like Brig.Gen Wellington Bassey Was recruit. So it's just to apply for Commissioning. Sometimes Commissioning can be as a result of Gallantry.

Regular and DSSC officers are the real career officers of the armed forces. NCOs commissioned as officers don't go beyond the rank of Major, go and find out.
Additionally, there are limitations to the command that can be given to those officers.
Fyi, regular officers in large numbers are presently undergoing training in NDA, DSSC officers, also in large number are about to commence training in ph. Very few NCOs are commissioned as officers.
You seem to speak like You are Assuming. Navy Carried 3per state. And Commissioned NCOs names are not published online. like I said, You must be in the System to understand. even if you are IN the system, you need big eyes and Long legs and sharp ears to Navigate your Way to the top. If you Know Major Ibrahim a.k.a Daga in army Depot you willgrab what I am trying to say.

Very few NCOs are commissioned as officers. Majority of officers are either DSSC or Regular.
How Sure is this your Claim? Like I Said, the change was recent and you must be in the System to be updated.

Very Very Competitive. One Easy way is to Join first as a recruit then apply for commissioning. In the Nigerian Armed Forces, There take more of their NCOs(Non Commissioned Officers) than BLOODY WEAK CIVILIAN GRADUATES.
