@ iomoge2, from my little knowledge, glucose tolerance test is a standard test done for pregnant women around 24-28 weeks in some parts of the world. It's usually done to rule out gestational diabetes. Where I live, it's a compulsory test for all pregnant women and the lab would have told you how many hours it will take ahead of time. Had mine this Monday too and they asked me to come in early so that I won't have to fast for too long and I was out of there in 2.5 hours. Told me to stop eating by 10pm and come in before 8am, but I could drink water during that period. The lab lady even advised me to bring a book because I'll be bored then she gave me a sweet glucose solution to drink and blood was drawn at intervals. I was even offered a bed to sleep incase I felt dizzy during the process because they didn't allow me wait it out in the car saying something like incase I pass out (God forbid) no one will know

It's good your doctor advised you to do it, he knows what he's doing so just trust him. Your result will come out fine by Gods grace. Hopefully your office understands

Abuja govt hospital will not take ur delivery or charge u extra so long as u didn't register with them. a woman who was in labour was rushed to asokoro general hospital, they refused to attend to her cos she didn't register for ANC with them. she ended up birthing in a private hospital. u must register with them, if u come in while in labour they will send u away. only private hospitals will accept u and charge u extra. what's ur location? there are good private hospitals in Abuja, don't take because of what happened to a family friend to judge all private hospitals, people also die in government hospitals . my neighbor lost his wife and son in a govt hospital.

Even emergency surgery they take....

Only that the person will use the emergency wing while registered pipz use upstairs.

During antenatal, last week 2 people had emergency surgery where one baby was almost out but too big.... 3 other women gave birth there... and they attended to all.

he said my baby that I lost at birth was too big for a ftm so he need to rule out gestational diabetes, I am also overweight but the test came out OK, so don't worry.

On Saturday me and DH saw dead lizard at least it looks like one with d leg cut we prayed and used oil and mustard seed and this morning we saw another one dis time without head. We did the same. Have been really worried told my mum about and she said we should continue praying and AM BEEN WORRIED SINCE THEN.

Thats how i was seeing dead rat in my house at 25 week ish. I dont have rat nor used rat poison.

It was later i realised that the little girl that spent 10days with me always opened my door when i am out.

My neighbour then said she used rat poison but didnt find any dead rat.
So they were practically coming to my house to die.
I saw 2 or more.

I prayed sha and moved on.
Dont worry.
Worrying will do no good.
Trust your God almighty and declear that you are safe, ur husband is and your lo is.

The test is probably because of the weight of your lo. Since lo is measuring two weeks ahead. I pray it comes out negative too.

Also call them at the office and let them know what's going, they should understand.

Sorry for the discomfort, that's the process albeit uncomfortable to ask a pregnant woman to fast just to determine your blood glucose levels. Maybe he detected some in your urine? You can call your office and tell them you'll be coming in late hopefully they'll understand.

How do you people combat insomnia , im almost losing my mind .if i dont nap in the afternoon i sleep early and wake up 12/1am, no sleep till 5am,if i nap in the afternoon sleep wont come till 2/3am
I need help,its given me a headache and i dnt look forward to night time at all.

My dear. We are in d same boat.
Its crazy.
Mine had been like dis from day one.
This is week 33+ and its still happening.

I must sleep during d day else i will be useless. I sleep like 1hour at work everyday.
Why mine is more painful is that i am awake till 5am then starts sleeping when am supposed to be geting dressed 4 work.
I now hate morning ehn.
When i started this journey. .. hubby was so worried he dragged me to the hospital. At 7weeks.... when i didint sleep 4 5 straight days.
The gave me DXP. Or so.
Right now i cant take it again. So i just relax.

My lo sef lives the none sleeping mum.... thats when all d acrobat n all comes to play.

I Will advise u try a hot bath.....at night.
That helps me alot.
Vthe hottest i can handle... then i let dh massage my body with ori or coconut oil. If i amnin pains then robb.
That way i get a good start and might only wake up 4 to 5am.

The secret to my stew which i enjoy alot.... i o. Lol

I use small tomato, just enough,
plenty ata rodo (omo yoruba ni mi o... swaga) lol
Small shombo - thst pepper thst looks like tatashe... gives it aroma to die 4.
Small tatashe- if i like or non at all cos shombo does d same job
Plenty, i repeat plenty onion. Like 3 balls. .. 2 grinded one chopped or sliced.

Then i grind all this with blender at home. .. not smoothly but not too rough either ... i dont use public engine becos they dont wash well n add engine oil to the food.


Next, i bring to boil by adding a salt .... just enough. Boil till dry... no water again.

Then my meat or fish or whatever is boiled n fried a little.... not fried dry.... just enough esp meat.

Then i bring my oil to fry in a seperate pot, add onion for aroma n taste...... pour my toma,pep,shombo,onion.... stir a bit.
Add my seasoning. ... curry, tyme, white pepper , knorr n tiny salt if any becos my grinded mixture was salted.
When it stirs n fries a bit, i add my stock....n meat or fish. Cover n bring to boil till ok.

It comes out alive n red. Has body.
When boiling ya meat... u can put enough spice.... then be careful when putting final spice during cooking... sometimes i dont put again sef.
And i avoid using my fried oil to cook stew..... i keep that in a private place for continuos frying n moi moi.... or to give indomie n d likes more taste. ....
The chopped onion is added just b4 i turn off the heat.

Mamas please add or subtract lemme learn too.

I am not a garlic or ginger fan.

My DH has really been a darling though, I went for my first scan last week (8weeks) and saw my sweet LO so tiny with a stable heartbeat, appetite 0%, always tired, can't keep anything down and I pity my baby atimes .
But at a point I said my baby isn't hungry coz if it is it won't be making me throw up all the time

I remember how i would hold food and be talking to my baby b4 i eat...lol
