Less commonly known, however, is that Romania has become the centre stage of one of the fiercest anti-corruption battles. |
It's because Northern Muslims have been slaughtering Igbos and Igbos tried to secede from Nigeria to create their own sovereign nation, Biafra. Though the Biafran rebellion of the 70s lost, there is still heavy resentment by people in the SouthEast for people who are from Yoruba or Hausa country, who both have big Muslim populations whereas Igbos have practically zero Muslims. The majority of Igbo state voted against Buhari, showing that people in the Biafran region are strongly opposed politically to the rest of the country. Northern Muslims are killing and attacking Igbo settlements to this very day. Some foreign countries have eyed the Igbo subnation of Nigeria as a potential method of fighting Islamic Extremism in Africa. |
Ngo40:I feel like there is a divide between black Americans... correct me if I am wrong. There is a real culture of self-hate in Black America from what I have seen. I have seen Black Americans before who have said things like "reading is for white people" and other self-degrading gibberish, and some intellectual movements of Black Americans have been extremely racist and have basically copied the rhetoric ironically of White supremacists to fit themselves, or they have denounced academic studies because of their association with white Americans. Also there is this fetish in SOME (not ALL) areas for armed robbers, that grows a very lumpen culture in my opinion. Remember that only 50 years ago Black Americans were under apartheid and were beaten and lynched in Southern White America, and since Trump got in a lot of Black-hating racists have come crawling out of the woodwork and are infesting US society. Also American culture is really nothing like European cultures. Americans on the whole are very violent, loud and arrogant, and have made much less overall social progress in comparison to Western European nations. |
Terrorists are the only Muslims who truly follow the Quran. Every other Muslim that professes moderacy is either lying, holds the same beliefs but would not put them into violent action like the terrorists, or follows a form of "Islam" that would have them executed for blasphemy in most Muslim countries. Mohammad was a murderous warlord, Allah doesn't exist and was used by Mohammad as an excuse to rape and steal and pillage. Islam as a form of psychological control is so powerful that people will murder others in their community for not following the religion. The Enlightenment and free thinking is Islam's greatest enemy. With these things comes the delegitimisation of the Muslim faith and exposes it's fallacies, and that's why Islam teaches people to be close-minded and to shun or kill dissenters. Anyone who questions their 'glorious prophet' or their god is simply a filthy non-believer to be ignored without thought. Anytime someone thinks about leaving the Islamic faith, they are told that "it is the devil whispering into their mind". Anytime someone actually DOES leave Islam, they are beaten, shunned by the pack, killed - pure brainless pre-human society encapsulated in the Muslim religious structure, and if one dares try to get OTHER muslims to leave the faith, the whole Muslim pack animals will attack them societally and, if the culture allows it, attack them physically and even kill them! This is the problem with Islam. It is a religion that manifests itself politically. Moderate muslims are not really true muslims, but that is because they have reconciled their faith with superior French Revolution based Secular Republican Democracy that is found in most developed nations. Literalist, conservative Islam is completely incompatible with post-Enlightenment secular society, one will have to give way and, if push comes to shove, it's not going to be secular society. |

GAHAHAHA is this man seriously defending a fraudulent money-grubbing pastor rat? The amount of "billions" going to regular Naijans outside the money-pockets elites of the country will not change one bit! There are no major minimum wage or occupational health and safety laws, and they are rarely enforced, and this man is a pastor meaning that he can use his position as a 'religious leader' to shirk legal allegations! Stop trying to bait people with tabloids! LISTEN! Nigeria is already losing billions every day from corrupt trash in government. If Naija was a nation without corruption, tribalism and contagious stupidity, it has the potential to be the most developed nation in Africa, on the level of Japan or at least Vietnam. Not only does Naija have over 100 million people, a huge amount of population resources, but it has vaste mineral, oil reserves and farmland. Make NO mistake that Nigeria's AWFUL corruption by businesses, churches/pastors and politicians, along with it's constant threat from Boko Haram and Armed Robber retards who don't have the brains to think clearly about the future, are the ANCHORS that are holding down what could potentially be an INCREDIBLE world power. Instead Dumb Boharams are killing innocent people, destabilising infrastructure development and education, and driving away tourism and investors. Instead religion controls the minds of the masses, academic communities do not exist and people have no love for those outside they family. Instead the trash Naijan government is one of the most corrupt govs. on earth, and funnels huge amounts of money out of development projects and projects to help Naija's poorest people, just so they can line their pigstyes with more personal embezzled cash. |

Charles H. Kahn: "The Sysyphus fragment (DK 88B.25) consists of 42 iambic trimeters cited by Sextus Empiricus as an expression of the atheistic views of the tyrant Critias. Sextus does not mention the name Sysyphus, but another citation (in the doxography known as Aetius) tells us that the speech was delivered by Sysyphus in a play by Euripides. I translate the text as given by Snell." There was a time when the life of human beings was disordered and beastly, and life was ruled by force, when there was no reward for the virtuous nor any punishment for the wicked. And then I think that humans decided to establish laws to punish [wrongdoers] so that justice might rule and be master over crime and violence (hybris). And they punished anyone who did wrong. Then, since the laws held public deeds in check and prevented men from open acts of violence, but they acted secretly, then it was, I believe, that a shrewd, and clever-minded man invented for mortals a fear of the gods, so that there might be a deterrent for the wicked, even if they act or say or think anything in secret. Hence from this source the divine was introduced [with the claim] that there is a deity who enjoys imperishable life, hearing and seeing with his mind, his thought and attention on all things, his nature so divine that he will hear whatever is said among mortals and be able to see whatever is done. If ever you plot some evil deed in silence, even this will not escape the gods. For they have knowledge. It was such stories that he told when he introduced this most delightful teaching and hid the truth with a false tale. He said the gods dwell there and placed them where they might make the greatest impression upon human beings, there where he knew that fears come to mortals and benefits also [to relieve] the miseries of life, from the vault on high, where they beheld the shafts of lightning and the fearful blows of thunder and star-filled gleam of heaven, the beautiful design of Time the clever builder, parade-ground for the brilliant mass of the sun and source of rainfall moistening the earth below. Such were the fears with which he surrounded humans and by which this clever man established the deity in the proper place, with a handsome story, and extinguished lawlessness by means of laws. . . . . It was thus, I think, that someone first persuaded mortals to believe that there is a race of gods. Ancient Greeks were absolute geniuses. |
NATIONALPASTOR:The Northerners of Naija are a whole different bag of worms to the western muslims on the streets of New York my friend. Both the skinheads of US and the Islamists of the North are equally bad, but they try and fear people of the other so people will scare and join their flock. Please call me not an afonja. I am not a muslim and I know that Igbos are persecuted daily in the North states, it is sad that the government does so little about it and the people who call for Biafra are not coming from nowhere. |
hfeetham0:Several billion years was way too early for anything that complicated. Think more along the lines of ~270 million years. That's about when the first Cynodonts began showing up. ![]() |
GloriaNinja:But you see, these people are no better than the terrorists. Did you look at the pictures on the article? They are waving Swastikas and Nazi flags, and many of them have attacked Muslims that have nothing to do with ISIS or Al-Quaeda or anything. In fact they don't even attack Muslims, they attack people who look brown or Arab. Trust me just because one group is bad does not mean that all groups against them are saints. It is human instinct to shuttle and take sides blindly like this, and only reason and intelligence can defeat instinct! |
IamProdigy:Why does only a fool say that 'there is no god'? Some of the most academically adept countries have the lowest levels of religious people. If atheists are such 'fools' then why do you always find them in academic landscapes . What around us speaks volumes of this reality? Explain! |
hfeetham0: I don't follow your logic. How is the understanding that Saturn has rings, something that can be observed by anyone with a modern-day telescope, an example of stupidity? And what has it got to do with "mothers being created"? |
ecoeco:The one type of theist: 1. THE IDIOT. Either born into a religious family or raised in religious surroundings, this person is either too religiously zealous or just simply too stupid to come to the conclusion that gods do not exist and that superstition is just that, superstition. He responds to genuine criticism of his religious beliefs, of the credibility of a god or angels or supernatural events such as the moon splitting in two, with brainless Ad Hominem or personal insults. Not even once does he call into question his own religious faith. He is a complete and utter slowpoke. |

MykOnyxo:Christianity and Islam are not alien to Indian villages, remote or not. India has the largest number of Muslims of any country, and has historically been ruled by the Christian British Empire, but the vast majority of it's population are religiously Hindi, Jain, Buddhist or some other Vedic religion. In fact there is cold war in India between the Muslims and the Hindus in some places. Hindu believers genuinely think that God or Allah is a farce, Muslims think that Hinduism is a farce and that Christians are misguided or evil pagan filth, Christians think that Hinduism is a farce and either that Muslims are misguided or evil pagan filth. Can you not see the contradiction in this self-centred belief? This was the dilemma in scholarly Italy and France during the 15th-17th centuries that lead to the continuous birth of the Renaissance. The dawning realization that all religions were equally competing for the claim of being the true religion, and that none of them had evidence with which to support their beliefs, their gods, their tales or their mythologies. An example of Renaissance genius was the famous polymath Leonardo Da Vinci. For centuries, devout Christians and Jews used the argument that because you could find seashells inside and on the top of mountains that Noah's flood really happened and the whole earth was flooded. But Da Vinci questioned this, because the seashells were often found in settled, largely undamaged conditions, at the same levels of sediment an orderly fashion, which didn't seem right in the case of a catastrophic earth-wide flood, because then the seashells would be smashed, broken, and most importantly found scattered all over the mountains randomly, and not on a singular plane of terrain. From this, Da Vinci not only challenged the assumption that the seashells on mountaintops proved the flood, but he also used it to make the (now known as correct) assumption that the earth's terrain has changed shifted it's elevation throughout history. Absolute genius. |

There are over 320 MILLION Hindu gods. Hinduism is one of the oldest surviving religions, predating Christianity, Islam and Buddhism by thousands of years. Humanity has created so many religions over the millenia, with many rising and many falling, often due to political upheavals or invasions and murder. The only reason so much of the world is Christian is because it was invaded by Christian countries. Similarly, the only reason so much of the world is Muslim is because it was invaded by Muslim nations. So why, in this whirlwind of religions and gods and beliefs, is YOUR GOD the right one? Why is GOD, YAHWEH, etc. the one, true god? Why is ALLAH the one, true god? What's the evidence for this? Why is Krishna nonexistent, but God is true? Why is Odin a myth but Allah a reality? What is your reason for believing in the Christian or Muslim god, as opposed to the MILLIONS of other religions and gods, some of which you have probably never even heard of or been exposed to? |

I am continuously shocked and confused by the extreme levels of crime and abuse of fellow human beings in this otherwise beautiful nation. Most problems are because Nigeria has such a huge population, there is widespread poverty and the government is very corrupt which leaves most of the country in ruins and a tiny minority of the country well-off and in very expensive communities (I suspect a lot of Nairalanders are in this category but feel free to say I'm wrong) What is with the murders? Why is there a chance you will get murdered if you walk through a slum? I can understand the threat of being mugged or threatened with murder, but why are people getting murdered just because? What goes through one's mind, what permeates the neurons of one's sick, twisted brain to commit the ultimate crime against another, simply because they are not from the slum? Because they are a foreigner? I could understand the motive of an armed robber that takes one's possessions, but not one that takes one's life! What is with the rape? Where on earth is this sexual assault coming from? Nigerians profess each week that religion brings morality, but even though the majority of people are religious there are utterly inhuman acts of evil being committed in this land! What sort of sick, distorted, sociopathic and lumpen brain would cause someone to sexually assault a person, letalone a child? Sexual assault mentally scars people for life, and links arms with domestic violence and empathy deficiency! As someone who's spine tingles with disgust and rage simply from typing those things, it is clear to me that there is a clear distinction on a basic psychological level between those of us who commit these atrocities and those of us who stand against them! What is with the disgusting tribalism? Every day I look to politics and all I hear is "blah blah AFONJA AFONJA" this, "blah blah JEW blah IPOB SCUM" that, next "blah blah FULA HAUSA TRASH blah BOKO blah", it just goes on and on! Did you know before you are Hausa, before you are Yoruba, before you are Igbo, Ijaw, or any other tribe, that you are human? Realise that just because they speak another tongue and have a different history, and might even be at odds with your people politically, that they are still human beings with human thoughts and human feelings! Nobody is born with a gun in their hands! Back in ancient Germany, life was hell. There were many different tribes who fought one another. There were the Angles, the Saxons, the Germans, the Alemanns, the Goths, the Gutes, the Vandals, the Lombards, the Ligians, etc. They fought constantly with each other. Now in modern day Germany they are all known as GERMANS and see themselves as GERMAN people. Nigeria is different slightly because it has three distinct (some would say four with Kanuri, NEast Naij) language-cultural groups, being Yoruba and it's surrounding languages, Igbo, both related as distinct Niger-Congo languages, and Hausa, which is by the way in it's super unique own branch of Afro-Asiatic, making Hausa language related distantly to Berber/Arabic/Somali etc. but the message still remains. Is there no step towards unity? Honestly I think this is more the fault of the European Empires that carved up Africa because of mineral riches and points on a map rather than the people that lived there, and since nobody's letting anybody get more autonomy Nigeria is stuck in this uneasy tripartite alliance between three major nations, and all the little tribes that lay between them. How do you picture changing this issue? Murder, rape, violence are common things in Nigeria and any thoughts to social movements besides praying or church are laughed at, people who are educated in foreign nations who come back to help change Naija for the better are at best ignored by the masses for stupid sensationalists with lots of money who care for nobody, or at worse killed or arrested by the government parasites because they have exposed corruption or have pushed a cause the government thinks will threaten it. The West used to have a lot of these problems but a lot of intellectual and social movements, involving something other than tribalistic violence, have slain them and the current culture of many countries like England or Canada slays these problems whenever they arise quickly and efficiently. I actually genuinely feel like apathy has a large role, in Western countries talk of murder makes people sick, in Naija people will sometimes not care, or not care because it is not their tribesmen or something, because they have been so desensitised to it all, to have compassion is seen as softness - but it is that softness I think that Naija needs the most. What are your thoughts. |
Mrjo:Message is clear, you are just blind! ![]() Real, though. It is sad that in the communities that need it most, people have only the mindset of "Bleep you got mine" or "my tribe the best tribe" instead of looking out for their fellow cohabitants. |
