laudate: So the wig and gown is not enough to cover their bodies? Is that what you are saying? And the word 'hijab' is still not mentioned in that verse you gleefully quoted, o! there's alot you really need to know. Don't think you know all #Can you know about islam than the Muslims? Is it your pastor that told you that it's not mentioned in the quran to use hijab? oga ooo. In fact, it was even mentioned that they should use veil. Hijab is an arabic word and do u expect to see the word hijab again in an English translation? |

laudate: 1). Muric has not taken action against the killings of muslims in the north by Boko Haram, by presenting a memorandum to the Senate on the issue.
2). Muric has not taken action against the issue of almajiri who roam the streets, and are deprived of a sound education.
3). Muric has not taken action against child-marriages, where young girls are given out in marriage to men old enough to be their fathers, within the muslim community.
4). Muric has not taken action against Fulani herdsmen who ransack entire communities and kill innocent muslims, in addition to those of other faiths.
5). Muric has not taken action against the fact that women are not allowed to practise as lawyers in Sharia courts, thereby depriving such women the fundamental right to earn a living, in a legitimate manner.
But Muric now has enough time and energy to pursue frivolities like the hijab, which is an item of clothing not even mentioned in the Quran? Kai! "Say to the believing women that they restrain their looks and guard their private parts, and that they display not their beauty or their embellishment except that which is apparent thereof, and that they draw their head coverings over their bosoms....." I laugh in chinko If you've not been hearing about MURIC activities that doesn't mean they ain't working. Kindly, Google search....MURIC and one NGO, CERAP or so are the first set of group that raised alarm about the Fulani herdsmen ish and they went to the extent of writing saraki... #make use of google to confirm whether truly they've not been taking steps on the issues you raised. i am more concerne about the last part of your comment, hey more than 10verses of the quran talked about the use of hijab and countless hadiths talked about it. stop making hasty conclusion on what you have no knowledge of. |

Diademk07: There's also no part of constitution that forbid the practise of females in the law practise as practised by sharia court. i really don't get your argument. You mean the sharia court don't permit females to practice? what has the issue of sharia court has to do with this? we're talking about human right here and not religion. I really don't understand why the xtians are more concerned about this hijab of a thing. it's a thing of choice, no one is forcing anyone to wear it, why stopping those that want to wear it? we should not drag religion into this, we should all tolerate each other. Jesus preached tolerance and not bigotry |
Politics › Re: Hijab Saga: MURIC Submits Memorandum To House Of Reps by irepsuccess: 5:16pm On Jan 03, 2018 |
yinkopet: One of the fundamental problem encompassing Nigeria past and present is the "Problem of Religiosity" . Not until we see beyond that before Nigeria becomes a global nation.
As regards the Hijab burning issue which is already dead on arrival, the profession requires no preference nor affiliation to it professional attire. How can one be call to bar with an Islamic Hijab when the profession requires you to appear in the conventional wig as formally wore by newly turn lawyers.
Is MURIC as jointly called, why aint they taking about the constant killngs by Fulani herdsmen which initiated at the corridor of this present administration? Are there stance on religion not attributed to that? Or the recent killings and rape by Muslims in the church during the cross over night isn't a national case to cry of ?
Sincerely, if the nation is blinded by religious views, then it is high time CAN relay their plight in due course.
Will religion move a nation from it topsy-turvy state to an enviable reach ?
Let rethink .... Hey, we can't be more English than the English people. Even in the western world, you're allowed to wear a short hijab as a lawyer. it's not written anywhere, even in our constitution that it shouldn't be allowed. Other countries are already stopping the use of wig by lawyers, we are here talking about wearing hijab or not. I can see religious bigotry here!! |

daveP: Fools! Join hands and submit what would benefit citizens, their brakelights you no go see. Cant they just do this once for the record. Now a piece of cloth is now a national problem!? shame. smh the law school has no right to ask any student not to wear the hijab. They should be less concerned about that. There's no part of the constitution or any law that forbids them to wear it in the law school. MURIC is an Islamic organisation, you wouldn't expect them not to take actions. They ain't an NGO or any human right group!! |

Reference: So ignorant. A public official is expected to live at the same standards as the governed. That is why there are many anti-abuse of office laws because the line between personal and government property at those heights remains blurred. Trump is a living example of how a personally rich public official can clash ever so frequently with institutional authority. And if you cannot play by the rules remain in business. Am sure Trump Tower is more palatial than the White House. so, are you saying that if ya dad bcom the president 2mao, u will live at the same standards as the governed? if u can afford Louis Vuitton b4 he bcame president, u will opt in for aba made? face reality! shez rich and her life isn't our business! we voted Ajimobi and not his daughter. |

Dongreat: The question you guys should ask yourself before commenting is, was her father wealthy enough for his children to live in luxury, before being made a governor? If YES then she is allowed to spend/squander the parents wealth, if NO then the dad is a bloody thief and shame to the state citizen for doing nothing. valid questions! Ajimobi is a multimillionaire b4 emerging as the gov of the state. so, for his daughter to be living a luxurious life, it doesn't imply that shez spending our money! we should always use our heads b4 accusing politicians |

The prophet asked us to be saying 'Jazakumllah khaeran' when someone did a favour to us, does it mean than when i say 'thank u'instead of jazaks, tz bid'a? |

Godswillnwaoma: ICAN,MBA and any other advance certificate related to finance and banking can help.
But guy let me tell you the reality on ground, getting those certificates at this present Nigeria economy wil never solve your finacial problem and make you rich. It is so unfortunate that the Nigeria economy we meet today is not the same our parents met in 70s where only certificates can guarantee a good job but today things have changed. Bro for you to be wealthy and be free from finacially problems embrace entreprenuership and business so that you wil be self employed. Start up something today no matter how small it is with time and dedication it will grow. Business is like a seed, when planted it grows gradually until it start having trees with branches if only u waters it . everybody cant embrace entrepreneurship now. if we all go in2 entrepreneurship who will entrepreneurs employ? |
