For those considering TEF....whatever you do, if you are anxious for the results to be released quickly, please don't write the exam around a holiday period e.g. March ending (Easter), July ending (Summer) and November ending (Christmas).

I cannot confirm what happens at other times but during these 3 periods it looks like it takes at least 6 or 7 week...#JustAnObservation.

Self-imposed immersion: Changed my phone language to French, listened to only French News (TV & Radio), tried as much to avoid lengthy English Conversations and stick to Francophone Nigerians as chat buddies.

Use of Past Questions found online

One thing I left out in my latest attempt, which cost me dearly, was Practice of reading and writing Faits Divers as well as listening tests as found in 250 activities.

Like what is the quality of the audio?
Is it tough?
Or the audio is simple to understand

In the context of audio quality, it was clear.

For the most part, it is a passable exam, just like IELTS.

However, the toughness of the Listening questions, is a function of your own understanding of the language.

Yes O! I don't have a choice but to rewrite.

As for the speaking, the trick is to appropriately use a French Idiomatic Expression. Even if you are an A2 level speaker, you'd get a C1. This was a tip I got at Alliance Française.

J'ai un souci avec la grammaire francaise mais alors, ca va aller quand meme.

If learning French is your reason for joining a TEF WhatsApp Group, I'd suggest you try going to Alliance Francaise or Institut Francais depending on your locale to learn the language.

Permit me to add, if you make use of a French idiomatic expression while speaking, you'd score a C1.

Example: Mettre du piment dans ta vie which translates to Spice up your life

or Ce n'est pas ta tasse de the which translates to Its not your cup of tea

I did this in my latest attempt in July in PH and it fetched me a C1.

...but B1 is 1 point so they are still right because anything less than B1 gives zero points so why allow someone to spend money and get zero points for it....after waiting for 8 weeks o.

B1 actually gives you Zero points. If you score a lower Band B2 being CLB6, you'd score 1 point.

In other news, only Feb TEF result is out...March TEF, not yet...they said 40 working days....it's been 30 days if I remove Easter Monday and Good Friday....maybe by May 24 is my guess.

Your result is most likely ready, just tweet at them, using this handle @FrAffaires asking for an update. That's what I did to get my result when they wasted my time.

Par rapport, ils sont pareil sauf que, le TCF a trois devoirs dans l'epreuve l'Expression Orale, en revanche le TEF a deux.

As at this morning, AF PH confirmed they haven't received the results for the 5th September session. Weird considering we're now in the 8th week!

I wrote the said exam and the challenge is coming from the guys in France, who mark the scripts. I have written to the Examination Body in France as at last week, and got a response, saying that they are making best efforts to have the results ready.
