Here in Germany i experienced, that especially older whites keep staring. I once talked to an old white lady and she explained she never met black people ever before, thats why she kept looking.

If the staring gets too much, i like to talk to those people and ask them, if they want a picture , they will be ashamend turning away

Why dont you face reality? She is gone for 18 YEARS  , surely she wont come back to live in Nigeria. Why should she, think about it! if you want her to attend your wedding, call and invite her?! I dont see any other option.

Within this 18 years, did she ever come back for a visit? If she cant attend your wedding, ask for the reasons (financial problems? missing papers?)

Its very sad to see, how people loose their lives. And this might not even be the worst part of the journey. Loads of Africans, after travelling through desert drown in the sea. Some boats are broken, other ships shot by the border control Frontex, which is working for European Government.
I read a report, that e. g. in Germany of 60000 Asylumseekers only 5 % were recognized and most of those people send back to their countries. And from those who finally make it over here, a lot are working in bad-paid jobs. I dont want to scare people, but i talk of experience.

Sometimes i guess People would be in a better situation in their own country. (Dont get me wrong, im not a racist, but its hard over here).

Am living in Germany and Swiss-German is different. Its coming with a heavy accent and different words, even difficult for Germans to understand.

But you must consider being arrested once you enter UK. Better try and pay your debts.

Here in Germany you need a residence or work permit and you have to find out, if your qualification is recognized by government over here. Even some former doctors work here as taxi-drivers, cause they are not recognized
