[quote author=isangjohnson post=104822719]I'm about to setup my first system of 2 x 12v x 230Ah Genus tubular batteries with TriStar Mppt 60A, 1600w panels and 24v/2.5kva Prag Inverter or Ipower. This system will majorly power freezer and fridge. I intend to fix the second system of 2 x 12v x 230Ah Genus tubular batteries with Morningstar Mppt 45A 1200w panels and 1.5kva inverter soon. This second system will take care of light load (lighting points and fans) Gurus should please help me with the following questions: 1) Btw 2.5kva Prag and Ipower, which one has modern adjustable battery type selector switch/voltage setpoint which will match my Genus tubular batteries and cc? 2) Considering the panels size with Morningstar Mppt 60A CC Max and the losses, do you think getting up to 2000w will be ok? 3) Who knows the ideal voltage setpoint of Genus tubular battery for adequate charging? |
[quote author=ojeysky Those batteries has already been purchased. |
[quote author=NiyiOmoIyunade Niyi, won't you reduce price for your boys? Where is your location? |

[quote author=ojeysky I'll check. Thanks |
Please, I'll like to know the current price of morningstar/midnight solar mppt 80A CC and a very good 2.5 to 3kva inverter. I'm told Deye is very good. |
[quote author=ElRazur post. Is this solar street light the type that is always dimmed at night and resumed it brightness whenever it senses an object? It's a type I'll really like to buy. |
I've seen it. Tks |
[quote author=Valto post How do I contact him, please? |
VERY URGENT! Is there DIY guy or professional installer in this noble house that is based in Uyo? |
Gurus in the house. Please, I want to be educated in the area of RASPBERRY being connected to our systems I intend to install it for my children to start learning programming through fund. How is it connected? Does my house need a special wiring to accommodate it or could it just be hooked up with the solar system directly? I ask this question because the electrician will start wiring my house in few days time. After installation, will it attract any other cost in terms of network subscription? Finally, what type of 3.5kva/48v inverter with 60A CC would suit this project? I've 4x12vx230Ah tubular batteries on ground. |
[quote author=olopan Thanks |
[quote author=deking I was told, though I don't know if things has changed, that most 3kva hybrid inverters if not all are transformerless. Meaning there will be limitations on what they can carry (resistive load generally) when inverting off the batteries. So, I wanted to go for an inverter with transformer. |
Inverter type is Nexus 48v/3.5kva. Battery bank is 4x12vx200Ah. Pv total watt is 2,520. Day load: Freezer 150w x 5hrs = 750wh. Tv 70w x 8hrs = 560wh. Decoder 45w x 8hrs = 360wh 2Fans 90w x 5hrs = 450wh Night load: Lighting 5x5w 25 x 10hr = 275wh 2 Fans 90w x 10hrs = 900wh Tv/decoder 115w x 5hrs = 575wh He wants to know. Is it advice able to allow his system get to absorb stage or float stage before loading his appliances? Looking at his day and night consumption above, is there any need for adjustment just to allow the system to be fully charged on time? Looking at the figures on his cc, time and the weather, is everything in order? His location is Ph and the the weather is still cloudy. If battery voltage is 50.4v as shown in the cc, what should be his minimum discharge voltage? Who has Nexus and Felicity cc should please tell us how to go about the setting and others relevance information. Thanks |
House, please help my friend to check the performance of his system. By 9am this morning, his Felicity 48v/60A Mppt CC reading was: Battery voltage 50.4v Charging amp 6.3 Input 91 Wattage 321

[quote author=Dam Sorry, I was only seeking the opinions and I've gotten what I wanted from one of the big boys of this noble forum. All the same, thanks for your contribution. |
Fans, tv and lighting will go to system 2. Please, what are your opinions? |
Looking at this unsmiling weather in the south, I was thinking of splitting my intending setup. 1) 2x12vx230Ah battery bank, 1.5kva inverter with 40A mppt charge controller and 5x320w mono panels. 2) 2x12vx230Ah battery bank, 2kva inverter with 60A mppt charge controller and 5x320w mono panels. This may attract additional cost compare to single unit, but it may help my tubular batteries to always remain in float mode. It may also put my mind at rest even when I'm out of town as I intend to put 1 freezer and 1 freeze in system 2 while fans and lighting will go |
[quote author=Saipro Woah! Your separate setup is lovely, but maybe be costly. May I know the name and the kva of your larger inverter and the size of the battery used? I guess your victon Phoenix uses 2x12vx200Ah. What is your total watt of the panels used for the two setup and are they wiring separately? I was actually looking at the cost of two inverter, two cc, cables and others. Enjoy your investment boss. |
[quote author=Oshomo12 Case closed. Thanks |
[quote author=samnaija. I bought them brand new and the shop owner did not charge them. |
[quote author=samnaija I will check it. Thanks |
[quote author=earthrealm. Since I do not have any means of charging them, should I give them to those guys that charge car battery to charge for me? |
I was actually thinking of draining the water, since I'm not really too sure of when the expected fund will get to my hand. Is this idea good? |
Please, if there's anything I should do to make them safe, let me know. |
[quote author=dejidotun2000 post=103609165]I do not know if the batteries were/are fully charged as I didn't even remove them from the cartons. |

[quote author=dejidotun2000. They are new batteries and I'm planning to use them in January next year. I hope nothing will happen to them before then? |
Please, I want to know if there will be any issue, if new tubular batteries are kept for long without use. |
[quote author=Dam5reey. If I'm right, 15kwh battery bank should be about 6pcs of 230Ah which you suggested would go with 5k or 6kw panel array. Back to my budget of 4 x 12v x 230Ah battery bank, could I get 10kwh daily production from 10 x 320w mono panels with 60A mppt charge controller? If I get fund to push my battery bank to 6 x 12 x 230Ah, how many panels of 320w will be needed and how many kwh do you think it will produce daily? |
60A mppt charge controller. |
[quote author=Dam5reey. Thanks for your opinion. I've gotten 4pcs of 230Ah genus tubular batteries already. I'll go for 48v/3.5kva inverter and 48v mppt charge controller. I hope the 16pcs of 320w panels will not be too much? |
