The key word here is "preservation of capital".
I personally subscribed
for short term investment not minding the low rates just to give room for navigation should the hand of CBN clock turns to my direction.
At the moment, I believe secondary market of Fg bond rate will not exceed 11% and locking up cash for 5 years or thereabout at this rate is not a nice idea.

Better still, should I ask my wife to forget about the our two kids and get her admission first before thinking of coming back to carry them?
I personally do not have any interest in joining them now as I'm fully engaged with my job here in Nigeria.
Please I'll still like to know the estimate of house rent and living expenses including school fees for Masters Program in an average school.

I need advice from Gurus in this house.
I'm planning to send my wife who studied Biochemistry to Canada for further Masters Program.
Is it possible for her to travel along with my two kids? One is 4yrs while another is 3yrs.
How much would this cost me?
Is it also possible for her to benefit from any scholarship scheme for the Masters Program?
Thanks

Though I don't know much about FBN Fixed Income Fund interms of Capital preservation and Regulation by SEC, but in all I prefer MMF to Fgn Savings Bond interms of rate.
We do not really know what will happen to CBN uncertain radical monetary policy in few months to come.
So locking huge amount for long term @ 7% or 8% with Fgn Savings Bond is not the best for now.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by isangjohnson: 6:18am On Jan 06, 2020
Has anyone here ever invested in FBN Fixed Income Fund?
Please I need information regarding its operation with risk level and capital preservation.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by isangjohnson: 11:04pm On Jan 05, 2020
Please what is the risk level of FBN Asset Management and FSDH Asset Management compare to TB?
Does it quarantee capital PRESERVATION?

My cash has been lying untouched for two months now.
Gurus in the house should please tell me how mmf works.
What is the current rate now?

What are the tenors?

I understand fgn savings bond has a minimum of 5k with quarterly interest disbursement but I wish to ask, if 10m is invested in it, will the same formula used to calculate fgn bond be used for fgn savings bond?
Eg: In fgn bond, 20m worth will have coupon rate of 19m.
In fgn savings bond, will 10m worth have a coupon rate of 9m?
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by isangjohnson: 3:03pm On Jan 05, 2020
Though I'm not an authority in this line of investment, but I guess this must be Fgn Bond.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by isangjohnson: 2:55pm On Jan 05, 2020
If 20m is used to buy 19m worth of bond and coupon rate calculated based on 19m and not 20m, how much will be your gain should you decide to hold it to 2yrs maturity period?
Please educate me.

In as much as I'm not in support of some of the government unfriendly policies, but the border closure is one of the best policy of this present regime.
The metric tones of fuel for example that was smuggled out of this country on daily basis to the neighboring countries was far greater than what was consumed in the country. Most of the importers also were no longer patronizing our seaports as most of them were clearing their goods in the neighboring country at a cheaper rate and load them in trucks back to Nigerian market just to make more gain. Most of those banned items in Nigeria weren't banned in neighboring countries. So there were still able to ship them easily into the country through this same market strategy.
Most of our guys are out to make money without minding the health hazards such goods will post to citizenry.
God will give us other avenue to make money that will not cause pain to others.
Happy New Year Investors.

I would've been crucified if I was using the first law of motion grin grin
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by isangjohnson: 12:14am On Dec 20, 2019
I'm not aware Fgn bond subscription has been reduced to 1m.
The last time I checked, the minimum was 50m and secondary was 20m.
I wouldn't doubt you if you placed Fgn savings bond at 5k as minimum.
Please let us always guide people here with correct informations. Thanks

InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by isangjohnson: 9:03am On Dec 19, 2019
We keep complaining often and often forgetting that about 90% of problems faced in this country is caused by us.
How on Earth will someone with hard earned money subscribe for tb of 5% for 364 days. I'm just imagining it.
Someone should tell me what will make CBN to reverse this rate when millions of people are ready to subscribe as low as 2% for 365 days.
I will either dump my money in dorm. account or buy plots at different locations and wait for it to appreciate while relaxing my brain than going into useless investment that will always get me upset.
