In a landslide victory, Ojo Aderemi has emerged winner in the just concluded 2017 University of Ibadan Students’ Union Presidential race. 

The Convener of Patriotic Intelligentsia led each of the three opponents with at least 1600 votes ahead of his closest opponent, Ogeleyinbo Bodunrin Joseph aka OBJ (A 500L student of the department of Medicine and surgery) who amassed only about 1000 votes. Abass Hamzat Ayodeji aka Comrade follows Aderemi and OBJ with about 829 votes while Igbonekwu Valentine AKA Valentinus (a 400L law student) gathered about 811 votes. 

Aderemi’s campaign was mainly hinged on his promises of reviving NANS, thoroughly orientating  students on true Students’ Unionism, mitigating against victimization through the Students Advocacy Council as well as seeing to the awakening of the defunct welfare board. 

The results are an affirmative reflection of a poll conducted by Kingstome Dome, an independent online poll conducted among students of the institution. It correctly predicted victory for Ojo Aderemi.

Gen Sec- Rhymer- 2910 votes

AGS- Koro- 2730 votes

PRO-Rational- 3023 votes

Sports Secretary – IBK Nation- 2878 votes 

House Secretary- Niffi- 2304 votes

Treasurer- Jackson- 2790 votes

Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, also known as Dagrin (21 October 1987 – 22 April 2010), was an award winning Nigerian rapper from Ogun, Nigeria. A film of his life entitled Ghetto Dreamz was released in April 2011.

Dagrin's home was in Meiran, Alagbado, Lagos. His style of rapping incorporated Yoruba, English and Pidgin English. In 2010 he was nominated for the Nigerian Entertainment Awards for Best Album (C.E.O.), Hottest Single "Pon Pon Pon", Best Rap Act and Best Collaboration with vocals. His album C.E.O. (Chief executive Omota English: Chief Executive Gangster) won the Hip hop World Award 2010 for best rap album.

From it came the singles "Pon Pon Pon", and "Kondo". Dagrin worked with other Nigerian artists such as Y.Q, 9ice, M.I, Iceberg Slim,omobaba,terry g,code,MISTAR DOLLAR, TMD entertainment, omowumi, chudy k, Bigiano, and Konga. He associated with music producers like Sossick, Dr Frabz, Sheyman, Frenzy and 02.

He died at the age of 23 on the 22nd April 2010 after a vehicle accident in Lagos, Nigeria.
