3. Away tickets for just £30 A combined effort from the Football Supporters' Federation, who pushed forward the Twenty's Plenty campaign last season, and the Premier League means away tickets have been capped at £30 for the new season. Even better - sponsors like Virgin Media have caught wind of the feeling and have helped Southampton subsidise theirs at £20. |
2. The Premier League ball The Nike Ordem 4 ball features a blue, green and purple colour wave with multi-coloured segments surrounding the official badge. Nike are promising that the geometric 12 panel fuse-welded constructed ball contains the design principle of 'Flow Motion', which means the ball will be completely visible at all times.

1. One-man kick-offs First seen at Euro 2016, the changes to the laws of the game means that the ball no longer has to be played forward at kick-off. As a result, teams can now simply play the ball backwards and start the game off by retaining possession without taking a player out of the game.

mrmetoo1:Firstly, I am of the opinion that we should explore other avenues of earning forex rather than blaming past governments for not saving and the fall in oil prices. Our politicians are all greedy and self centered, Nobody will want to start a project that another person will take the glory I. E. if the project is not completed during the initiators term in office. An example is the recently commissioned Abuja to kaduna rail line commissioned by PMB. I was reading many vituperations from the APC and PDP on this forum just because the project was started by Mr A and was commissioned by Mr B. That is why we rarely venture into long term projects. We prefer shortcuts and quick fix. Are we not supposed to mobilize and motivate farmers now if we want bounty havest next year? The oil and gas folks i know are already looking to other businesses. I know one that went to sign a deal with middle East developers, he wants to get into luxury real estate. From the bolded, why didn't they stay put blaming past administrations but because they know they have an obligation to their citizens, they are looking for ways to ameliorate the suffering of the masses. Enter Nigeria, for how long do we continue suffering when there is no policy direction or hope for the future? Are we revitalizing the manufacturing sector, education sector or diversifying into agriculture? I don't know if you have bought a modu of garri lately? All that government is busy doing is short term quick fix, that is why there are policy somersault everywhere. They've increased import duties, introduced stamp duties, increased the price if PMS, increased electricity tariff, increase interest rate, will be increasing the VAT soon not to mention what Emefiele and his Co Travellers are cooking up at the CBN. Why ban the importation of rice when the once produced locally cannot is not enough for the populace? How do you encourage startups and diversification when you have increased interest rates? By end of next year campaigning will be gathering momentum for 2nd tenure and they'll still recycle same people. How will the economy improve when we have not set any foundation for tomorrow? |
Progressive01:And my questions are: (1) where are the billions recovered from looters? (2) where are the billion generated from stamp duties daily? (3) where are the trillions generated from TSA? (4) FIRS, Nigeria Customs and other agencies are generating trillions on the pages of newspapers. Are they no countries faring well without oil? The rhetorics of government of the past not saving and the fall in the price of crude oil is now stale. Does it mean that without oil Nigeria will cease to exist? I pay PAYEE tax of more than N60,000 annually, but what has government been giving me in return. No medical care, high cost of living, no light, dilapidated roads to name a few. Everytime discuss like this comes up, Apologist of the Government will ask what have you been doing to improve the economy? As a tax payer I believe I am contributing my quota to the economy, and the government on their part have an obligation of must of providing better Living conditions for me and other citizens of Nigerian. The government is not been fair to all of us. |

The Chairman House of Representative Committee on Legislative Compliance, Hon Abiodun Olasupo, has insisted that ‘budget padding’ remains a constitutional responsibility of the legislative arm of government and as such the House of Representatives did not commit fraud in the alleged controversy. Hon Olasupo, who represents Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency made this known during the inspection of some his zonal intervention projects and federal government projects within his constituency on Wednesday in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State. Sections 80 and 81 the Nigeria constitution, guarantees the lawmakers the Powers to alter the Budget Proposals, the lawmaker added. He argued that budgets presented by the executive arm of government do not often reflect true federal character hence the need for ‘padding’. ”If you look at the Nigeria Constitution, what Honourable AbdulMuminin Jibrin refer to as padding is tantamount to what the constitution defines as the function of a member of House of Representative because the constitution guarantees the three major function of making law, appropriation, and over sight. “In appropriation it is either for us to add, subtract or change and what Hon Jibrin has been trying to say is that we are changing, inserting and adding, so if that is what he calls padding then that is what the constitution expects the house of representative to do,” he said. “In my own opinion been an active member during the budget defence, I was involved in the budgeting system of up to six ministries, I participated in FERMA, NAVY, health institutions, governmental agencies and a whole lot of them. The entire budgeting system make it possible that if you are elected as a member of national assembly and you are not ready to do what Muminin Jibrin calls padding then you are a failure, because basically the budget that is been brought to the national assembly does not reflect the principle of federal character as guaranteed by the constitution.” “All projects and employments from the executive should be done in a way that it reflects all parts of Nigeria, Hon Olasupo continued, but what do we get in the budget, you will see a disapprotionate distribution of projects and basically if you look at it reflects mostly on where the minister is coming from since it is the executive that brings in the budget. “When the executive are bringing the budget they are not considering my constituency, so they will bring a budget to me and I am expected to approve it, and if it doesn’t have the interest of my constituency you want me to keep quite, no I won’t, what I will also do is to insert what will favour the people of my constituency which is what Jibrin calls padding. “I am not saying somebody is wrong or right but I do not see what is bad in attracting projects to my constituency. For the first time in the history of this country a budget presented by the executive was reduced when a president personally presented the budget to the national assembly personally. It means that we are shifting away from impunity, and corruption that has characterised the government of the past,” he explained. http://www.informationng.com/2016/08/budget-padding-is-a-constitutional-right-of-every-lawmakers-hon-abiodun-olasupo.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter

louqas:EFCC does not have powers under the extant laws, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act 2004, to investigate, arrest, detain or prosecute any person for any alleged offence except in respect of economic and financial crimes. louqas:The purpose of this thread is not not ascertain whether APC or PDP jeered one another or wished whoever dead. For the records, how many opposition members, pressmen, journalists to name a few were intimidated alas arrested for expressing their views during GEJ's tenure? Why then are people with contrary view about the government of the day being intimidated by the APC led government? Just yesterday a popular Nigerian blogger and political commentator, Mr Abubakar Sidiqu Usman, also known as Abusidiqu, was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for "Cyber Stalking" whatever that means. Incidentally, Abusidiqu is an APC apologist. So if an APC apologist is still being held at EFCC net for reasons not related to economic and financial crimes then... off-course you know the rest. Keep supporting impunity but also note that what goes around comes around... |
...What goes around comes around. |
By Charles Ogbu - August 8, 2016 ...What goes around comes around A little over a year ago, it was considered a noble deed by the All Progressives Congress and her supporters to unjustly malign the then president of Nigeria; Dr. Goodluck Ebere Jonathan. Even his wife and children were not spared. These barrage of insult were not coming from foreigners ooo. They were not coming from unlettered almajiri kids somewhere in Zamfara State or some uneducated traders in Ogbete Main Market, Enugu. The insults were actually coming from well lettered men and women who were driven by sheer hate and are holding different public offices in this country today. Everything about Jonathan from his hat, smile, suit, and even his steps were fully analyzed and turned into an object of caricature against the immediate past president and his family. A highly placed chieftain of the then opposition party; the APC called him a kindergarten president. “Useless Otueke man”, “Ogogolo-drinking president”, “Jonathan” etc were some of the demeaning nomenclatures the APC desperadoes and their misguided #jollofeatingchildren ‘gifted’ the then president with. Nasir El Rufai, the current Kaduna state governor called him a stupid drunk who was sponsoring Boko Haram. He went further to describe the Nigerian army as “Genocidal Jonathanian Army” that should not be respected by Nigerians. The then first lady was tagged a “shippopotamus” and most APC members and supporters danced ‘azonto’ in celebration. APC online supporters hailed, jubilated and jumped like toads and were busy gloating over the insult being heaped on their president and their military that was paying the ultimate price to keep them safe. All the sacrifices of the Nigerian Army were mocked and made a matter of perspective. Nothing was spared. During and after the election, Igbos were repeatedly maligned unjustly and called all sort of names just for choosing to vote their convictions. People who refused to chose either of the two leading candidates were not even spared by the Buhari camp. They were bullied without mercy. Large number of Buhari supporters either unfriended or blocked some of their Facebook friends simply for refusing to support the Buhari candidacy. We were tagged “ethnic bigots”, “haters”, “enemies of Nigeria” etc by those who supported Buhari. Our right to support any other candidate or no candidate at all was never acknowledged by these #ChildrenOfChange Fast forward to this day, these same guys who constituted themselves into cyber terrorists, thugs and bullies not too long ago are now the ones going all preachy about how wrong it is to insult your president and the need to respect other people’s right to chose a political candidates. These are the same people who cheered when president Buhari clearly suggested he was going to punish those from the 5% region who didn’t give him their 100% votes. “Charles, your language is too harsh”, “why do you like insulting people?”, “You have a point but you need to watch your diction and stop bullying people who voted for Buhari” etc These are some of the things I read from these ex-torturers of mine — the same people who made their careers insulting and maligning their compatriots for no just cause some months ago ![]() It is not the hypocrisy of these guys that sickens me. It is the sheer audacity that accompanies it. More like the criminal audacity of an arsonist asking to be treated as the firefighter. Even the biblical devil will be wondering why he is still being treated like the bad guy when people like these guys still exist. For shame! Charles Ogbu is a social media activists. He shared this comment on Facebook. http://www.thetrentonline.com/remembering-apcs-campaign-ethnic-hate-president-jonathan-must-read/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter
