From my little experience of cotonou,i think I will still prefer there to lagos if you have a sincere agent like saintjoel. He got a car for me last year which the odometer checks out with the VIN report I got myself on nairaland here. The car came out clean with no title and accidented issues. I think the most important thing is a sincere dealer in lagos or a sincere agent in cotonou.

My mechanic said he used toyota oil. Present mileage is 189650miles.

Did you buy the car brand new? What's the current mileage of the vehicle? Check the previous owners documentation and find out if it was ever changed, if you can't get the info, to be safe just have it changed.

Brand new kini?? I bought it tokunbo at 178098 miles which checks out with the VIN report. The current mileage is 189650 miles. I changed the oil when I acquired the car a year ago. So my question goes thus: should I change the oil now or at what interval should d oil be changed?

To be safe every 80,000-100,000miles (use full synthetic oils only)

Thanks for your prompt response. But changing the gear oil @ 80k-100k miles is like 10yrs to me cos I don't travel with my cars. For instance, I only covered 11k miles within a period of 12months. So should I still wait till 80k miles before the change?

@gazuzz. I want to know when is the appropriate time to change transmission fluid. I have used the car for a year now and covered around 11000 miles.

Guy,i see u eventually got the oil. When will your car be due for servicing? I want to compare it with total quartz 9000 5w40. I was told my car will be due for servicing after 6mths or 7000miles whichever comes early.

Car doctor, it's been a long time. Pls, I want to know the right time (mileage) to change the ATF for my car (toyota. Camry 2002/03). Mileage of the car is 189k. I have drove the car for a total of 11k miles in a period of 12 months. I am not to sure of the type of ATF my mechanic used when I bought d car last year. Also, where can I get the type 4 atf in abuja. Thanks

Funny, but I've sold some couple of stuffs on that website, its simple, If you cant see it, don't pay for it.

In my own case here, I posted advert for my car and a scammer re-post my advert with a lower price. The risk there is that if d bastard dupe a gullible buyer, it can get me into problem. I deleted my advert immediately.

Please disregard d advert for this same car on olx as one balogun james copied d advert and readvertise for a lower price.

Please advert on nairaland by me alone is d only genuine advert for this car.

I believe it is high time the regulatory agencies if there is any should shut down the website as d site is full of thieves and 419ers looking forward to dupe innocent nigerians. The website owners don't scrutinize or verify adverts on their website. They are not bothered by the atrocities being committed on their site.
I posted my car on the website yesterday afternoon, only for me to find out that one balogun james had re-advertise my car with lower price, can you just imagine??
Please, I implore nairalanders not to patronise the website again, let us stick to our wonderful nairaland.
These set of people can get one into problem.

Ikenna, I follow most of your posts even though am not a lion owner. I think at ds point it will be better for you to even strike a deal with d lion makers as they now in nigeria. Be their brand ambassador. Let them read ur posts on nairaland.
