The coolant reservoir in my Toyota Camry 2000 V6 has been empty for some months and I have been a little bit skeptical about re-filling it cos a mechanic said he will have to remove d entire radiator which I think its not a must. I already bought 2 gallons of coolant and I intend to change it this weekend. Please advise the most necessary precautions to take while changing d coolant. Do i need to flush the radiator with clean water before filling it with the new coolant? See attached pics. Thanks a lot.

Hmmm! Bros, you dey mind me? What happens is that whenever i get back home after driving out and i open the hood, i usually see some returns in the coolant reservoir. So i get comfortable that i still have enough until last Saturday when i discovered there is no return again.
please, do i need to flush the radiator with water before refiling and the coolant product am about to use, any word on the product?

Hweva, I had cause to travel out of town, leaving d car in care of my cousin. He, after finding out that d brake pad is worn, changed it.
The challenge now is that I'm not feeling d sharpness of d brake and d light (brake light) is still ON.
Is it that d pad is fake or d 'resurface' work done b4 putting d pad has damaged d brake discs bcoz it used to b sharper even wit worn-out pads.

The reservoir of your brake fluid has a switch which is designed to detect low fluid level, it completes a circuit when fluid is low and this in return causes your brake indicator to iluminate on your instrument cluster. Other faults like abs and driving with the parking brakes still engaged will also cause the same light to illuminate. Ill advice you check fluid levels first.

Fake brakepads(auto boss, autoautoboss, etc...) Can and will make your brakes funny, I will strongly recomend you remove them and buy original pads.

Atleast one of your brake lights is burnt out. Check and replace the bad bulb and it should go off.

There are two things i know that are related to that light
1. Low level of brake fluid/its broken harness
2. Blown brake bulb/its broken harness

Since you dont have a shortage in brake fluid, my guess is the brake lights or its wiring. Have some depress the brake pedal while you look for the blown one.

My friend who drives that same car has that light on, checked his and the bulb was replaced and the light went off. However, that same bulb has burnt out so many times now that he has been ignoring it for long now. You better look for a belgium replacement.

Unfortunately, NO!

That is the responsibility of you brake pads and rotors. The brake pad may not be of good quality or the break-in has not been achieved.The break-in procedure is critical to brake performance. The reason for a proper break in is to establish an even layer of friction material deposited on the rotors from the brake pads. It is very important that this initial layer of friction material is evenly distributed.

Usually you have to drive with caution after installing new brake pads without a break-in procedure. There is a procedure for advance car users i have read called Pad Bedding Procedure which involves intermittently driving and braking at controlled speeds to heat the pad and rotors and imprint rotor surface pattern on the pad surface achieving maximum contact for effective friction.

1. p0505 idle air control valve, im not sure what year xterra u use or engine type(v6/I4) but the idle control valve is located on the throttle body and should look like this. if the harness (wiring) is faulty check it if its ok replace defective iacv.

2.P0335: Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit. the function if this sensor is to detect the speed and position of the crankshaft. its location is near the crankshaft pulley, have it checked, p.s if its nor working car wouldnt start.

3.P0745: Pressure Control Solenoid "A" :The Pressure solenoid is inside the transmission and it helps regulate the pressure from the trans fluid pump.

There is also a "Dropping resistors", that controls the voltage from the ECM to the solenoid. If the resistor fail, it can also trigger the same code. The resistor is located in the engine compartment.

4.P0455: Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak): your fuel tank should at all times be air tight, there is currently a leak and this is causing this error. check fuel tank cover, check vacuum pipes leading to fuel tank and if there was any previous fuel pump work done on the car, ensure all the screws were tightly screwed back.

5.P0037: HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 1 Sensor 2): check your o2 sensor heater circuit for continuity, replace if faulty.

6.P0328: Knock Sensor 1 Circuit High Input (Bank 1 or Single Sensor): check harness to ensure it is connected properly, replace if faulty. this will require some stripping RED ARROW IS LOACTION OF KNOCK SENSOR


please ensure you erase all errors and re-scan vehicle after 50km before doing any work, cause most of the errors might be stored errors as a result of removing sockets while ignition/engine being on.

If his car is a v6, he could swap Bank 1 Sensor 2 for Bank 2 sensor 2 (same sensor) if the car has to confirm that the sensor is faulty. It could be the heater fuse or harness.
