The last time I checked, the Ayam Cemani Goth Chicken cost $2,500. In the Guinea Franc, $2,500 Goth chicken is worth 23,075,000 Guinean Franc, are you kidding me? Read that again.

In Uganda, this chicken is 9,259,500.00 – 9Mil+ Shilling.

In Rwanda – 2,212,500.00 – 2 Mil+ Rwandan franc

And in the Nigerian currency, $2,500 Goth Chicken is about ₦855,000.

How My Business Died in the hand of a Nigerian Hosting company, which hosting company?

Follow through and you will know them if you’ve faced a similar experience.


There is so much to say but Nairaland just told me that my post was too long after posting this, so, I better keep it short.


So, I created a website using a Nigerian hosting Company. I never knew the website would be big because I just followed the passion and the flow of writing.

Surprisingly, having read a lot and followed all SEO tips by experts, 30 of my posts were ranked on Google first pages and traffic started ramping in. As at the last time of check before I left for National assignment, I had about 900+ daily visits. 900+ X 30 days was pretty big I guess (for a hobby).

Before this time, my website was offline more than I can count. 20 times is a joke. I mean, offline and I will be seeing screen of deaths – White screen. At times, their core offline time – 3am, maybe when they think you are fast asleep.

With these experiences, words can’t explain how displeased I was.

Creating a support ticket was my second hobby because I was forced to do so, that does not include upgrading to their highest Shared plan as they advised me to, even with that, my website was on and off, and I was just TIRED, I MEAN, tired and sick of everything.

Since I didn’t know much about credible hosting companies to use, I jumped on Namecheap to see if they could migrate my website to their servers, turns out they were NOT capable. Another wacky company for hosting – by experience…

Like I said, I never knew much about good hosting companies, so, I had no option than to go on my Hosting Company Cloud Plan. I subscribed to their first tier of Cloud Server – note, this time, I made no tangible income, and so, it was difficult to. But I did anyways.

After some time, my website picked up again but it didn’t last as it was beaten down again, offline.

Note, the website speed was okay, at least it was on Cloud but that didn’t save me.

After tickets upon tickets, they managed to convince me to upgrade to about 2 terabyte plan, still on Cloud. Oh my God! I was angry. Did that save me? No. I had nowhere to run to, remember…

I saw hell while writing with my first web hosting company. Just take a glance at what I went through just in few days in one month. The web blog itself broke like never before.

In conclusion

When they billed me to pay #15,000 a month on a website that had nearly 30,000 only, I concluded that this was a total rip off. I had to let go. After all, there was no hope that the site will not be offline anymore.

After all the difficult moments based on being sent on a national assignment – NYSC- where I did not have access to browsing network to update my Blog as I wanted to. I was down.

Coupled with the NO BROWSING NETWORK frustrations and #15,000 a month fee, I lost all my contents (up to 60+ blog posts) having paid my former hosting company to back up my files. They never kept the backup. (my fault though to trust them)

Finally, it saves your work so that you can customize styles in your child themes without the risk of losing your edits.

You can create any number of child themes from your existing Parent Themes. Child Theme Configurator lets you choose from your installed themes (even existing child themes) and save the results in your Themes directory.

When you are ready, just activate the Child Theme and your WordPress site takes on the custom styles automatically.

Steps to creating a WP Create A Child Theme

#1. Login to your WordPress admin dashboard

#2. Got to Plugins > Add Plugin > Search for or copy and paste Child Theme Configurator > Install and activate it.

#3. Go to Tools > Child Themes (multisite users go to Network Admin > Themes > Child Themes).

#4. Select CREATE a new Child Theme – Install a new customizable child theme using an installed theme as a parent – I have already installed my theme…

#5. Select a Parent Theme if creating a new Child Theme; select a Child Theme if configuring, duplicating or resetting.

Note: If you have more than 1 theme, click the dropdown and select your preferred one.

#6. Click on Analyze.
Don’t touch any other thing, just go to #9 on the list and click “Child create theme”.

The result:
Child Theme Viral Child has been generated successfully. IMPORTANT: Preview your child theme before activating.
You can go ahead and preview the new Child theme – it will be the same though.

#7. Go back to Appearance > Themes > Confirm that you did everything right. That is all.

1,000 Pound Sterling is deposited into a Lloyds of London savings account paying 30% per annum, compounded annually. At the end of one year, 1,000 x 30% = £300 interest is credited to the account.

The account then earns 1,300 x 30% = £390 in the second year.

By the way, I think the Compound interest Principle was falsely attributed to Albert Einstein. Nevertheless, To Whom It May Concern, whether he actually said it or not is not the point. The point is what you will get if you see a reliable investment place.

I mean, a 5% increase every year for 30 years is a 332% increase. That sure is powerful Showerman’s father in-law said.

There you have it. If you are privileged to have a father in-law that is not mean to you, up to a point of sitting you down to give some fatherly insights, then you’ve got to be proud man because some of the son in-laws that wished such were not privileged to have one.
