 OP, kudos to you for putting this magnificent article together. It shows you actually went deep into this matter and ruled out your opinions on logic instead of emotions as a lot of people tend to act on this site. The act of internet fraud and fraudulent money wiring is one that will stay with Nigeria for a long time if we keep our current moral and cultural structure that pays a few people and cheats the rest. Jailing and admonishing the actions of the US and foreign companies while castigating the youths at the same time is akin to apply snake oil on a mortal sickness. It treats the symptoms but never really helps quell the source of the disease. We need a complete review and overhaul of our cultural out views and outlooks pertaining the process of wealth acquisition and riches accumulation. Truly. We don't care about the process, only the results. Until we sit down and deal with the hard truth that our dear cultural, moral and political system Is flawed in all its dimensions, fighting this vice in our society will be a wild goose chase. |
