All africans are just as likely to be ostracized at some point if this keeps getting out of hand. Doesn't matter where you claim, as long as you have black skin ( includes bleaching) and are african. |
Why are these posts being hidden? Whoever is hiding them should at least state the reason. |
Op you didnt give a complete biography. Nee Falode, born in Lagos state to Osun parents. Her husband is Igbo or midwest I guess, from the name. |
okeybig:the building is ok but the grounds need to be structured. the gate is too close to the main building though, not sure this is actually the governor's house or a lodge. |

as a matter of fact, the meaning of oyinbo is probably more of an honorary one. it most likely means honor or chieftancy title when translated like this: oye-ibo, could mean chieftancy title that covers, ie is widespread. just theorizing here. oye means title and bo means cover it could also be honey covers |
tpia5:in addition, nok art places emphasis on straight facial lines. the jaw is clearly defined and almost always triangular. not sure if this is supposed to depict eloquence or something else. some nok sculptures also have an aura of calm, occasionally the figures are looking down and in a reflective (pensive) mood. eg: https://nigeriansoul.weebly.com/uploads/8/7/2/4/8724373/5923989_orig.jpg ** not sure of the date for this terracotta** |
the last one is Ife, not Nok. you probably know that. |
didnt egyptians have horses? ![]() so why couldnt other areas in africa have the same? ![]() |
ooshinibos:well, we have to know where we're coming from in order to know where we're going. I get your point, however, lacking history is to be likened to having no history. |
tpia1:ok, found another fact about olokun. olokun was associated specifically with returnees. Tasked with bringing them to Lagos and resettling them there. |
Jesus. |
how is the child getting back into the UK? |
Mwenyi:its possible some are mixed, however this might be from far back. some capoids also appear mixed, so its a bit hard to tell where exactly the mixture might be from in the absence of any defined records. capoid: https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/561391_257036591080260_848184358_n.jpg igbo: http://www.thatigbochick.com/2014_03_01_archive.html |
the word oyibo is possibly not of nigerian origin imo. it was adapted into the nigerian lexicon, although i stand to be corrected. |
sounds like a borrowed word imo. borrowed then adapted. |

just wondering why the lady fell for the seducer even though she'd seen him coming from a mile away. lord have mercy sha, lust of the flesh and lust of the eyes things, and the pride of life. |
lechiffre:haba nlers una sabi kissass sha. |
there are a lot of factors to consider, as i mentioned before, its not really all cut and dried. one, longevity should probably be shortened to about 55 or so years, give or take a few (or one or two decades). Only those who have already passed that milestone can speak with any certainty of 70 years, and even then, its not guaranteed. in addition, what is considered "rest of life" as per marriage, only lasts until the divorce. 70 years is certainly not in that equation. just saying. even two years is considered a stretch nowadays, not to talk of five years, ten years, etc etc. |
all links duly posted, all photos are of public festivals from the web. |
is 70 a realistic age or figure for people to aspire to these days? ![]() what are the odds of anyone in this generation actually attaining that milestone? ![]() |

natureblack:Its posh enough although I get your point. |
CAMNEWTON4PRES:The posh is relative |
Those must be chalets built on the grounds, not the actual house itself. Only one picture is showing btw. |
